VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Rick and Morty: Another Way Home [r4.0P7] [Night Mirror]

What makes this an amazing port... hell, an absolute improvement from the Unity version is the element of choice.
You could be a loving partner... or a complete psychopath and game will actually remember it and hint towards it.
It's amazing.
While story closely follows the original game, it's a significant improvement due to just story flow, ability to skip anything you want or customize how characters are called, what scenes would lead to and even consent.
Would highly recommend.

Thank you for not being a coward. The story elements are truly wonderful. The fact that you've not shied away from actual hardcore elements is a breath of fresh air.

-I wasn't sure the art style was going to do it for me at first, but if you're having doubts about it right now, STICK WITH IT! It gets a lot better during the actual scenes, the characters feel a lot more "fleshy".

- It starts a little slow, but it's better this way, and the content past day 15 or so starts getting really cool.

-Tricia is surprisingly cool as hell. I mean, her characterization is executed super well, she actually has something of a character arc (not kidding). I'm writing this review at day 24, but so far she's best girl (in a tie in with Summer), just for the fact that she's bringing it all back home somehow.

Thanks to the developer for making that game, I'm not even a Rick and Morty fan and I absolutely loved it!

Technically:
The renpy port is very well done, with no bugs, good selection of features and customisability. The art is well compressed, engine is regularly updated, and all major platforms are present. By the amount of updates, fixes, tweaks and improvements, you can see the developer really cares about their craft.

Content:
First of all, it manages to capture the spirit of the show very well, both in art and in story. So if you're a fan, you won't be disappointed.
Second, there's a lot of content. Even not being finished yet, it's already absolutely worth playing.
Art-wise, it's top-notch, all the characters look just like their show counterparts, animations are smooth, and the scenes are all well done.
The story is fun, interesting, and well tied together. There's character progression, humour, drama, action, what more can you ask for?
Oh right, lewds, there's lots and they're great. Steamy, well placed throughout the story, and especially great if you enjoy these kinks.

Overall, one of best, and definitively worth a shot.

This unofficial version is the reason I've been started to play this game again, as the original unity one was a mess, actually a nightmare.

In this case I appreciate the possibility to play linearly and the option( I don't think it was in the official one) to force some actions, to set specific choices and also to set your age and other small details that helps the experience.

Why 4/5 stars? As I wrote the official version was tricky and messy and you had to visit multiple locations in order to unlock specific scenes. In this one you've basically to read the dialogues, set some choices and that's it. You don't have to visit, you don't have to decide where to go or what to do. Everything moves forward automatically and you're just a spectator. It doesn't bother me, but on the other hand it places the player "outside" from the game, but again in the official version was necessary just for unlocking something, so that's a minor con to me.

In any case amazing renpy port and the most important part : 100% working gallery and you can change previous choices(creampie yes/no, rape, etc..) simply from the main menu.

This game is fantastic. Hours of content, compelling story, and things aren’t too outlandish. (it IS R+M after all) It’s easy to follow, and would even be a great game if it didn’t have the adult content in it. Bravo, Great work!

if it was possible to give 10 stars, i would. the animation looks shockingly similar to the original show, the sex scenes are frequent and make sense within the context of the story, the dialogue is funny (and resembles the humor from the show), and it's super easy to navigate. also ur choices matter! (to an extent). obviously it's also really hot lol. also all base-breaking scenes are skippable !

also i never did play a way back home (the original game) so i might be wrong abt this but from what i heard there's a bunch of more fetish content (particularly incest/pregnancy etc) !

I was honestly expecting a cheap fap fest based on some beloved characters, instead I got an X-rated episode of Rick and Morty that feels entirely true to the show. This game is sublime! GET SCHWIFTY!

Unbelievable how humourus and sexy a novel can be, even with art not everyone will like or love. Simply a must have played!
I found rarley novels, which I did not skip forward but here the story is a real part of the excitement one may experience, when you get hooked by it.

This game is amazing! I didn't really like the original version under unity. Very buggy, quite messy, and sometimes the story was inconsistent.
Here, we are on a total rewriting of the events of the game to be more logical in the chronology, no bug, and especially, an addition of scene, and with a management of the kinks, that we can totally ignore in the game. If you liked the Unity version, you will love this one. And if you didn't like the Unity version, well, try this one anyway!

This mod is a total improvement over the original. It has multiple options throughout the story, you can go back and change something if you don't like it and the mod author adds new things that the community wants in the game. The work ethic of the modder is legendary.

I've played this game almost since it started. I cannot recommend it more. It's less buggy, more fluid, offers options not seen in the original game and adds scenes that were either cut or requested by manipulating art and elements. Huge fan, if i could donate i would.

I don't what to say, but it's incredible. I know the original ones but this version is more incredible, fixing a lot of bugs, and also you add Morticia more personality like Mabel from gravity fall it's hot, etc. Keep it good work, I wish you had Patreon.

Downloaded this on a whim one day, wasn't real sure what to expect beyond Rick and Morty themed content -- wow. Absolutely blown away. The characters mostly feel authentic (given the different dimension) and the story is fun.

I honestly downloaded it because I wanted to see Summer and Jessica getting fucked, but after playing a while Morticia has become my favorite. Can't wait for more of her.

Did not play the Unity (original) version, but I can easily recommend this one to anyone that likes Rick and Morty or some of those tags. Huge thank you to both devs.

An outstanding job of porting the unity game to renpy and an incredible implementation of quality of life and extra content by the dev and the community, really hoping to see others devs to take note of the way the content is delivered here. If you're interest in the show or some tags showed here, you won't be disappointed.

A great port for a great game that I already graded 5/5. The main experience of this Rick & Morty game for me. There is an awful lot to love about the game. Great job Night Mirror! I couldn't imagine playing without RenPy.

Very cool game,i like it how its close to the cartoon itself, the gameplay gives the full liberty which fetishes you gonna choose to watch, i hope the dev continues exploring more fetishes and maybe add some new characters,i can't to see it wait the next version.

A VN where Morty gets sent to another dimension to learn to be assertive. The writing is okay - there are a lot of extended back and forths between characters that run on and on, and the only time there's a joke it's a fourth wall breaking thing or a reference to the show. The art is really faithful to the Rick & Morty style and there are some good animations. There's no real gameplay to speak of, it's just a VN where you click to progress the dialogue. No sound at all, but no bugs either. It's okay.

honestly a near perfect game, if not perfect. Super fast paced, tons of content, and you get to choose pretty much exactly what you want to see. There's no filler, no map nonsense, and it doesn't waste any of your time. This game is one of my favs and the remake is perfect.

I adore that extra flavor of love embedded in the relations between siblings, the kisses, the Hughes. This is a great work, I am in the willingness to help.

   1. Story: it does has sense and also is coherent.
   2. Originality: false, well... is a fan-remake what you expected ¯\_(⊙_ʖ⊙)_/¯ .
   3. Renders: these are drawings Rick and Morty style.
   4. Sound: it has not, I prefer play my music and enjoy this.
   5. Playability: buttons to take decisions, save menus, .
   6. Performance, Bugs: no mayor errors, if you go out the app and then go back, it might get slower; a reset is the solution.
   7. Animations: the same from original, all are fixed.
   8. Voice Acting: None.
   9. Grammar: Good, not complex.
   10. Amount of content: like a month or more, depends a lot of how much and fast you can read/fap/rub.
