Recently discovered that Adult Visual novels and already have almost 60 games, having quite a bit free time helps.

I pretty like Scartlet. I hope it's her too. But i think it might be too fast to bed. Because in progress pic, she's wearing the same shirt with pic 2 with mc and pic 3 with Darci(maybe) in 0.5, i believe mc and Darci might hang around with Scarlet but might not have more fun till next time comming back 1999.Almost everything points to it probably being Scarlett.

Yeah, in my opinion, this game looks good in spite of being made in Honey Select 1. There's clearly been a serious amount of modding and/or post-work done.
Not sure how much of this will be considered spoilers but figured better safe than sorry

Yes but... it's also probably why updates are so slow. Can't even begin to fathom the amount of work the dev is doing to stretch HS1 beyond it's default capabilities and arrive at this level of animation. It's probably a similar situation to AHITR where honestly they should just switch to using Daze or something like that, but they are so used to their existing workflow that the thought is terrifying.

Ripples and Pale C really make Honey Select 1 look extremely capable.

I know nothing abut animation, is there a reason one wouldn't just upgrade to Honey Select 2?

Graphical fidelity I'd imagine, I don't mind how the game looks as is and from what games I've played that are HS2-based I don't think the models would benefit from the visual change. IMO.

You can't directly port HS1 models to HS2, for one. Which means dev will have to recreate all of his existing models from scratch. Lighting also works a bit differently in HS2 iirc, so dev will have to relearn that. Finally, not every HS1 map/asset used for the game has a port in HS2, so certain areas/items will have to be written out of the story until they get ported (which takes time) or dev finds a substitute.
TL;DR, switch is basically too much work that he might as well save it for the next game.

Imo not every HS game needs to be done in HS2, HS1 games with mods and good lightning can look very good like this one and Pale Carnations.

I'm wondering if there are even any examples yet of a HS2 game out that looks better or runs smoother than a well modded HS1 game. Carnations and Ripples are some of the best looking games on this site, especially their latest updates.
