I dont know why, but I find the HS models a lot more appealing than Koikatsu and the realistic models. It’s like in the middle of being anime style but still have some realism, which makes the girls look hot.

The realistic 3D models are off putting for me in AVN games, I don’t know why. I spend less time playing those.

I really like the stylization of Honey Select where so many of the other models either aren't attractive, utterly fail in their attempts to be realistic when obviously trying to be or hit that creepy uncanny valley bit like something out of an animated Zemeckis film. I'd absolutely rather have something less realistic but very pleasant to look at.

Yes I understand you, even though I enjoy the Daz models too, specially those that take time to edit and work on the models so they don't look the same than other hundreds of games lol.

When I first start playing this AVNs I twitched a bit my nose on trying a honey select game because at first look it seemed a bit too cartoonish/animeish for my taste on a porn game, but after I tried it with a bit of time I learned to love HS and now probably I enjoy more the HS games in general than Daz/blender/whatever more realistic models and assets.

I still avoid AVNs with other graphic engines specially most of those 2dcg ones or very anime style unless it is highly suggested by having a really good story. I play one of those that are even for long ranked top ten on the site weighted rating but just for the story and gameplay, no way I'll fap to cartoons lmao.

There is another game I enjoyed (since it is completed and the new game of that dev is with Daz now), that isn't Daz/HS and it is made with VaM (Virt-a-mate), it is in the limbo between realistic and "drawn by hand" style and I enjoy it as an art style choice.

Personally I prefer good Daz models over HS models. But I do agree that sometimes the Daz games fall into "uncanny valley" territory, particularly Daz games with minimal effort.

There's also just a lot of low-effort Daz games out there. I blame this on how easy it is to get started in Daz compared to the extensive modding needed to get HS going for AVN use, and a lot of those less-invested devs just going for the 'default' rendering option.

DAZ might have a higher skill ceiling than HS but low effort HS games are as bad looking as DAZ ones (maybe less uncanny valley).

Oh yeah, there's definitely low effort HS games out there too. I tend not to see as many of them though, likely due to the factors I mentioned.
