I can't speak to the story overall, but I thought the writing of the patch brought it down in the last update, especially during the last scene with Jenny--"knowing we're related just makes it hotter" just didn't fit her character, at least for me.

LightmanP made since last update 2 versions of the mod, one without and another with the I-patch (and that is the only way I know of right now to have incest in this game), they simply installed the wrong mod version, they should have got the new vanilla mod version, before this update there was only the I-patch version included.
They still can play the "official" experience in regards of incest with a walkthrough lol
Yep it was not good in that scene, for what I know the current I-patch it is done by the modder themselves and it was fineish until this last update. Until IIRC v.0.5.0 there was a link in the OP for the patch but after that only was included in the multimod (that always had it included since I started playing Ripples). No idea if they were different writers or not. Gladly they started making a version of the multimod without the patch

Yeah, bad choices of words on my part, nothing against the use of mods, but a mod is there to "modify" the game, nothing wrong with that but if it alters the dev intent, even a walkthrough goes against it, because if there's choices then the dev intent is for you to make one yourself.
And again don't take me wrong I'm not saying people should not use mods, just saying if they alter the original intent you shouldn't take that as the official way to play

That's a good point, and I'd forgotten it. My gut still says it doesn't feel right, but that isn't part of my mental picture of Jenny.
I personally don't think Tiffany and Jessica's reactions to the MC and sex related issues make sense without an incest angle. I just wish Karens complaining didn't interfere in dev's original intents on these things so we didn't have to keep dealing with this landlady/dad's totally platonic friend who took me in after he kicked the bucket" stuff.

Tiffany's reaction, at the very least, does make sense regardless of familial connection. She's almost two decades older than him and he's her dependent. There's a significant power imbalance between them, which would cause unease in many people.

This is one of those games where I actually don't even care that much about the "spicy" content because I've gotten so invested in the actual story. I've found myself speeding through a couple of the sex scenes because I just want to get the story again. Not every scene, just sometimes.

If a mod is simply restoring something that has already been forcibly changed against a dev's will and original intent, there's easily an argument that the modded experience is the official way to play... even if the dev cannot actually admit that, for fear of the Patreon Gestapo coming for them in the night.
Generally speaking, whenever you're dealing with a game with a young adult male lead character living with a "landlady" and their "roommates", the original intent is very, very clear.
