Don't think that sub-plot to have been solved yet but my memory sucks. Who knows, maybe in this update we get some about it. We can always place bets and odds on itMaybe I missed it, but was there an explanation/theory as to why the MC's dad couldn't be located in the first trip to 1999? He says it doesn't make any sense, so something strange must be going on, but what?

Can also be a red herring. Can be the masked guy, the masked guy can even be a different timeline of himself, there is so many possibilities and probabilities. I'm sure at some point will become more clear.I think it kind of hints that the MC could be his own father, even though I’m not really buying it right now since we barely know anything about him at this point in the game. That said, I’m curious if the game will come back to this mystery or just leave it hanging. Seems like the masked guy knows more about it than he’s letting on.
It'd be better if it didn't IMO.I'm sure at some point will become more clear.
Well it seems a really relevant event/plot of the story, I'm not saying that everything has to be fully explained (a few mystery in the end doesn't harm and leave it a bit for our imagination) but at some point it better we understand who the masked guy is, and others like the ninja (but on that already became more clear) or even the mysteries about Luna, Ms Gilmour, Riley and other characters. I think many of those sub plots are relevant and have to get more clear, some for sure will only be uncovered totally/almost totally near the end of the story. It'd be better if it didn't IMO.![]()
That’s basically what I was trying to get at, although I don’t use that expression very often myself and maybe haven’t quite nailed it yet. ^^ There are definitely plenty of possibilities, and if I recall correctly, several people earlier in this thread suggested that the masked man could be a 'clone' of the MC or even his father. I guess we’ll just have to see how the story develops. Can also be a red herring. Yeah the masked guy can be our Father and at the same time the MC, and it goes well with the theory that the MC can't find his father in 99 because he is him hehe. Red herring? Well you can google it but basically is a false lead/clue to make us think on the a wrong conclusion, misleading the reader. A fallacy maybe a better word for it. You can even search what is the origin of the expression, I did it the first time ever I saw the expression hehe. We might never find out who his father is if Jestur wants to keep playing with that mystery and ambiguity, who knows.Yeah the masked guy can be our Father and at the same time the MC, and it goes well with the theory that the MC can't find his father in 99 because he is him hehe.
Anyway that's what I think, only Jestur knows what's really going on![]()
I know that expression because I’ve come across it on this site before, but it’s not something I normally say since it’s not really part of my culture or native language. It just doesn’t sound natural to me, if you know what I mean. ^^Red herring? I believe it’s a cameo or crossover character from another game, right ? I don’t remember the game’s name or dev but either way I don’t really see that theory holding up, even if it makes me laugh x)Wild theory Time. I think the guy on the Bicycle in the Park when you met Skylar, that was Dad or MC, lol.
Yes is not natural but I use the ones I picked on and are somewhat more common (and a red herring is commonly used in English when people are talking about narratives/stories) when there isn't a direct translation term in Portuguese, on informatic and even science many times the translated term in Portuguese doesn't accurately define the meaning so I prefer to use the English term.I know that expression because I’ve come across it on this site before, but it’s not something I normally say since it’s not really part of my native language. Yeah of course everyone does what works for them, it’s just that for me, with my cultural background, that kind of expression doesn’t really click. ^^ I guess if we compare it to French, we’d probably call it a lure, like in fishing, a diversion, or just a false lead, since every culture has different references and images. Personally, it’s much clearer to me, but that’s just my take on it.Yes is not natural but I use the ones I picked on and are somewhat more common (and a red herring is commonly used in English when people are talking about narratives/stories) when there isn't a direct translation term in Portuguese, on informatic and even science many times the translated term in Portuguese doesn't accurately define the meaning so I prefer to use the English term.
It is like trying to translate a Portuguese word like "Saudade(s)", because "miss you" or "really miss you" doesn't really show the depth of that unique Portuguese word/term meaning, it is impossible to accurately translate it in almost every language.
Since MC is his own father, if he succeeded that would mean he would be talking to himself and nobody wants a schizophrenic MC in their game.Well it seems a really relevant event/plot of the story, I'm not saying that everything has to be fully explained (a few mystery in the end doesn't harm and leave it a bit for our imagination) but at some point it better we understand who the masked guy is, and others like the ninja (but on that already became more clear) or even the mysteries about Luna, Ms Gilmour, Riley and other characters. I'm pretty sure that when that finally happens, that will be the main plot twist in the entire game. Because if he appears, questions will appear, and that can make him a victim or even a villain. So no, I don't expect that to appear until near the end of the game.Maybe I missed it, but was there an explanation/theory as to why the MC's dad couldn't be located in the first trip to 1999? I mean, i talk to myself too. Sometimes I just need an experts Opinion.Since MC is his own father, if he succeeded that would mean he would be talking to himself and nobody wants a schizophrenic MC in their game.
My theory about Him is: Masked Guy IS A MC, from a timeline where He Kept his sausage in his pants. and Timeline of our MC is a time where he can't keep it there. Can also be a red herring. Can be the masked guy, the masked guy can even be a different timeline of himself, there is so many possibilities and probabilities. I'm sure at some point will become more clear.
He could be MC from a timeline where it went horribly wrong for them.My theory about Him is: Masked Guy IS A MC, from a timeline where He Kept his sausage in his pants. and Timeline of our MC is a time where he can't keep it there.
He's definitely not Krystal's father, she already knows him.He could be MC from a timeline where it went horribly wrong for them.
I think he is his own father though, but the dev might leave it up in the air due to patreon BS rules, if he is his own father and also the father of all the girls then it's incest which we know Jestur would never do since he is someone that follows the rules and would never risk getting his patreon nuked.![]()
