When the game came out on its launch day, it already had an iPatch and it was canonical. The game does not contain incest internally because of patreon. But in its very first version 0.0.1 already had the iPatch. I don't understand why now they want to say that the patch was not canonical. It was always clear that it was, the problem has always been patreon. Although I don't understand why, even if there is subscribestar, there is no version not censored by this thing.

Use the Multi Mod to solve the issue. One is vanilla and the other is not.

They have to be hypocritical about this and need the support of F95 in the form of not explicitly linking an incest patch on the game's page here. Otherwise they will lose Patreon because Patreon is being pressured by religious extremists. If they lose Patreon, they lose most of their income from the game. And then it will either be abandoned or continued much slower.

PS: The better / more successful a game is, the more careful the developer needs to be. Ripples is one of the top games, so it has to be particularly careful. (Remember that Eternum even lost its original music because the composer who offered it for royalty free use was pressured to retroactively forbid its use for adult games, creating legal uncertainty.)

Yeah, I don't know either. Other games get away wirh it, just fine. No patch, has dampened the experience for sure. I haven't even played since the last time the I patch existed.

I tried, it just feels unnatural and not right. And I don't like mods or like to use mods I just wish we could go back to the having the patch, so I can play the true version of this game, the way it was meant to be when this started.

You know for most People a Patch is something other than a mod, so the Multi-mod is different from the I-Patch.

No idea, but if you are in a hurry you can probably create it yourself by combining the previous Mac version with the current Windows version in the obvious way. Ren'Py is very modular, and I would be surprised if this didn't work for the Mac version as well (except for signing the result, which I understand is not absolutely necessary). There is probably a folder called game in the main folder of the Mac version (or in a subfolder). Most likely you just need to replace it with the folder named game in the Windows or Linux version.

(PS: I think the main reason why this kind of thing might fail is when the developer upgraded the Ren'Py version used. The Ren'Py versions of the two releases you combine need to be compatible. But they usually are, and why check the versions if you can just as easy try if it works.)

The quality of this game is just 10/10 in every way. It is written and rendered so well that it's in a different league to 99% of all other AVNs.

I only wished with this that the updates were bigger and/or more regular. I'd probably be on the patreon if they were.

This doesn't ALWAYS work on macs, but 9 times out of 10 it will...
Just gotta keep the folder tree structure intact.

incest patch is un-official, it's not a part of the game, and never was considered as "canon". so technically game shouldn't have an incest tag

You know for most People a Patch is something other than a mod, so the Multi-mod is different from the I-Patch.

Technically the non-vanilla mod just has it's own I-Patch.... so there!

That so called "I Patch" It restored canonical content, which the game had since its release on launch day. So it didn't change anything, rather it restored something that due to the patreon laws/rules, the game or rather the user can no longer use.
So there is nothing to be confused about, if someone wants to play with the relationships of the original and canonical characters, instead of the censored ones.

I can understand that you wanted to remove the now dead patch. But you have still caused a disservice to those who used the tag system via search.

I know that with the multi mod, the problem is solved. But it is not solved here on the game page. Because someone has removed the incest tag. So with search this title will not be revealed. You can put the topic under observation, but when you check and you do not see the tag, someone may then ask themselves... why did I put the topic under observation? And if they do not remember, they will end up closing the page and moving on to other games. There are some users who only play with certain fetishes. I follow Ripples because as a fetish it has above all incest. Without that fetish my tastes lose more than 60% of interest in this game. Yep I was about to suggest that to them but I really didn't felt like interacting with them more, only made a joke about what is a mod or what isn't but debate about Incest is getting older and older in this thread, pointless debate and not what makes this game enjoyable for me even though I use the non vanilla multi mod.

**Special Instructions:**

Install apk.
Grant storage permissions on first run!
On first run you will get a prompt to copy the archive.rpa file to documents/Wills747/rip.ples/game folder.
(game will quit now)
Copy the archive.rpa file to the directory indicated in game.
Restart the game.
Keep in mind if your default install location is an actual SD card and slow speed this may slow the launch.

Also, keep archive.rpa. I'll use it for future updates to minimise the apk size.

No worries, I just did it because it was easy and I could help out. If you want to do it yourself next time, all you need to do is report the OP of the thread, explain why, submit it, and wait for the staff’s decision. Also, don’t stress about not being a native English speaker. I’m French and I use translation tools too.

I understand your point, and I actually share your view. It makes more sense given the relationships in the game and the overall theme of time travel and its consequences. That said, I didn’t realize this was originally part of the base game when it first launched.

Honestly, this whole debate feels a bit worn out by now. At the end of the day, everyone should be free to enjoy Ripples in the way that fits them best.

There’s no harm done. Although some might take it the wrong way sometimes, it doesn’t take much for that to happen. No matter what, this debate will likely resurface sooner or later. I fully agree that everyone should enjoy the game in their own way. Whether incest is involved or not doesn’t drastically change the overall gaming experience.
