One of the available scenes at the party includes it. I think the key is to ask about a threesome during the truth-or-dare game. It's going to take at least a few plays through, or use of a mod, to see all the content from the party.

While I really like these flashbacks, I think that instead of spending long periods in 99, Jestur must be planning to use timeskips; The MC and Darci will continue to return to the past, but we players won't participate unless we have an important mission, and I don't think they still have anything to do in the past, right?

I also think this is a "farewell" to the past; the relationships should develop in the present, with the girls he knew in the past, like Scarlett.
It will be difficult to fool Scarlett; she's already quite suspicious, now the MC will return with his hair cut by her, something she'll definitely remembre, we know she and Tiffany will meet, maybe she can't resist visiting the MC's room and ends up finding the painting she gave him, anyway, I, at least, hope their relationship continues in the present.

And I think MC and Darci will get some answers from the group controlling the time machine, which I believe Jenny is a part of, something that will happen after MC's revelation.

There's nothing important for them to do in the past now that they've saved Tiffany, Jenny, and Gabby, but there's plenty to do in the present.

She has the picture of the two of them together; I doubt the haircut will add anything (or at least much) to her suspicion, because if she has half a brain (and I haven't seen any indication she doesn't), that suspicion should be approaching certainty already. The only problem (to the extent it is or will be a problem) with her understanding it is the general impossibility of time travel.

Interesting. I think I like that theory better than the "Jackie is secretly Jenny" one, even if that seems to fit. Mainly because it means I get to see Jenny as Jenny again.

Have they saved Jenny? Sure, now she knows why MC's been telling her not to work at the plant, and she believes him. Does she do it anyway, in hopes of stopping the disaster? Or for some other reason? I expect we'll find out early the next update.

And I don't know--is "saving MC's dad" on the radar? That'd still be something to do in the past, right?

You still need a healthy dose of suspension of disbelief, but if any of the 1999 LIs would understand and believe MC, it would be Jenny.

When I think about it, I think what felt whiplashy wasn't necessarily Jenny believing you so fast, but it feeling too fast right after the party which had hours and hours of gameplay/reading.

the dialogue surrounding that "restored" relationship is pure fanfiction. I also played through this update with the patch, and also found that dialogue over-the-top, but I'm not going to blame Jestur for dialogue he didn't write.

You know what you guys are right and that's fair. I'm really curious now though, what the "real" dialogue is

Fair--pretty much the whole update was the party, and there's a lot of content there. The Riley/find Jenny/go to the hotel/scene, while important, does feel like it moves pretty fast.

This is one of the best games in this site without a doubt. The animations are always are really good, the characters look great, and the most important thing the writing is always on point and interesting.

With that said I wonder if I'm the only one disappointed a little bit? By how little the story moved. Generally I am not one to care much which character gets more attention than others specially in games where all the characters seem cool (although from reading the thread I did go back and notice some of the characters seem to be moving a lot slower than others) but the update felt like 80% fan service with the party and then 20% actual plot, which not very gracefully brings me to my next point is plot wise it seems kind of ridiculous how easy Jenny not only believes you when you tell her the truth, but also is just completely fine with you being her nephew?? I understand that "officially" you're not related but to me that's obviously 100% patreon things, and it's kind of weird how she goes from really wholesome but in secret really horny to in the next scene being like "you being my nephew makes this hotter" that really threw me off.

I'm sure it's not the most popular opinion but I really would've been fine with the story moving further at the expense of some of the party scene (with that said Vanessa was my favorite character introduced in the update and I don't really know why) and she probably would've had no scene in that universe

I hear you. I was surprised with the whole scene with Jenny. Personally, I hated the whole party thing. First of all, AVNs should not be allowed to have scenes where people play truth or dare or some variation anymore. FFS it's in every AVN, but even if I forgave that, the party scene just went on and on and on and on and on... Can we get back to story? Then it had to end with the MC doing the helicopter with his cock. I mean, seriously... I thought this AVN was above all of this childish BS. It's like a new writer showed up or something and we were stuck with something a 16 year old would enjoy.

This AVN is easily in my top 5 AVNS, but this update was just cringy.

Getting background on the mothers/older adults IS part of the story.

It informs the interactions in the future and helps explain why certain things played out in the future (Luna's reaction to MC, Scarlett looking at the old picture and seeing the resemblance, etc.) and things like the party are a way to show how those things occurred. Would be pretty damned boring if all of the interactions happened at the diner. It's also character building - yes, those characters are 20 years younger, but didn't your 20s impact how you became in your 40s - or if you're still in your 20s, don't you think your "now" will inform your "then"?

You have to go to the past and figure things out from both directions, and it would be damned boring if everything in the past was at the plant, the diner or skulking around in the woods.

As for "truth or dare", it's a trope in these VNs because it's a trope in real life - truth or dare and spin the bottle are two of the big ways many guys back then, and even still today, saw actual boobs not in a magazine or on a computer screen for the first time, so it's a natural way to show "barely 18" characters doing it in VNs.

Well, I don't share that opinion. I enjoyed getting to know them better at the party. It was a fitting goodbye to 1999, as we've now pretty much built relationships with everyone from there.

Other than that, sure, 'Truth or Dare' is a cliché, but when done right it can be fun and allows you to get to know a character better. I didn't mind it here.

I personally liked the Truth or Dare game, I just found it fun especially since I was drinking a little too while playing.

But the helicopter cock was a bad choice. I assume it was supposed to be funny but the dev time would have been much better spent adding another naughty scene with a girl instead.

I enjoyed rev 8 from the diner to the party and finally the hotel room - all as a way for the MC to get to enjoy time with a number of the hotties in 1999 in a single evening.

I appreciated the chance for the MC to cuck Eric by banging his girlfriend Tori and her friend. There was some satisfaction there after he tired to hit Tiffany (and would have injured or killed baby Jessica and perhaps Tiffany).

We got sexy time with Scarlett and Valerie - together - as well as letting Scarlett know the MC likes anal and is fine with girl on girl. The Scarlett/Valerie 3sum was Very hot!!

We got a chance to talk with Tiffany (and I certainly wanted more - something for Tiffany to remember in 2019 to help her get more comfortable with the MC and sexy time).

We got some sexy time with Luna and learned Why Luna acted the way she did when adult Luna saw the MC at Tiffany's house and freaked out.

Finally, we got a very nice end of evening with Jenny who finally got to understand 'Who' the MC is to her, and she did not reject this knowledge/him but instead - thought it was hot to make love with her nephew.

Truth or Dare is a trope - but listening to nieces and nephews when they drink and think the 'adults' are clueless - it is still as valid a way for 18 year old guys to get their first non-internet tit grope and more (and for 18 year old girls to be bolder and not get labeled as sluts - it is only a game after all and then it is back to 'normal' the next day).

There are other ways to do this - spin the bottle, Twister, adult card games, and even roleplaying games but all are tropes to some extent - because they are all physical ice breakers for guys and gals who vary in their level of sexual experiences/how comfortable they are with their bodies.

I view it as an 'economical' way to have this much sexy time in a single night.

Economical from a creator perspective... imagine trying to achieve the same thing with Twister and how long the renders would take to create/photoshop.

Now we need to see 'how' the ripples of these events affect the MC and the ladies/their daughters in 2019 and that starts with ep 9.

It will be a long wait for ep 9 but I have every reason to believe that the wait will be worth it.

Between now and then, I will do a full replay of Ripples, unlock the early galleries and see if I can't actually find all of the secret renders (and yes - I will 'cheat' this time and use the WT ).

To be fair, this is happening in 1999 where Truth or Dare, Spin the Bottle, beer pong and other party/drinking games that we would now consider to be cliched were common. They didn't have the ubiquitous internet or adult card games to provide alternatives, so they play the contemporary games they know from other parties. Also ToD/StB doesn't require anything as far as setup other than the liquor they already have at hand so they are easy to start up.
