You got it from the LightmanP mod right? If you installed it correctly and the correct version (the incorrect one is the vanilla one) I can assure you it works as intended but you notice mostly on interactions between the MC and Tiffany/Jenny/Jessica as mom/aunt/sister.

The names wont change, the relations to the MC will, if the mod is working.
I think the first text or around that in the game says your relationship to Tiffany, like "Tiffany took care of me after my dad died" when you don't have the patch.

Looks like Rosalind from Pale Carnations, but it's mainly the hair. There is a Ripples cameo in that game, so maybe it is intentional.

I mean to be fair HS models tend too look samey, even more so than DAZ ones.
To make them stand out one from the other these folks (not just Jestur) have to put so many details...
Also completely unrelated, am I the only one who doesn't want to romance/sex Darcy AND Riley? I find them honestly irritating as characters, Riley I wish could be just sent packing

Come on guys.. Riley is the funniest character in Ripples! Does every scene have to be jerk material? The helicopter scene was just hysterical.

I love Darci when she acts like a best friend who will always have your back. I don't like her "teach her all about love and adult things" gimmick, or whatever that it is. Unfortunately, this happens every time we get to have a romantic moment, I think they dragged that way too long.
I also like Riley and her whole attitude, but I imagine that if you don't like her, she could become annoying very quickly.
It's not just you. I find them both really annoying.
I'm generally a sucker for the friends-to-lovers story, particularly with the childhood friend. I love Annie in Eternum. I love Lucy in Between Humanity (and they aren't even lovers yet, though I expect and hope they're heading there). But Darci isn't doing it for me, at least not that way. And I think it's because of the relationship, or lack of it. They don't even have to be in love with each other (though I prefer that, hence my being 100% on Team Jenny)--fuck buddies, or friends with benefits, would still be a relationship where it makes some sense. MC suspects Darci has feelings, but she's awfully tight-lipped about them if so. If/when she admits to them, I expect I'll like her a lot more.
If you have a significant female character in a VN, there's a built-in assumption that MC's going to get intimate with her. If not, the game really needs to explain it (e.g., Shelby's a complete bitch--though it looks like this is turning around, along with (presumably) her physical involvement with MC). But if so, that also needs to be set up, and there just aren't that many options if that's going to be a regular thing:
- They get romantically involved (e.g., Jenny and (at least as I've played) Skylar; 1999 Luna was headed that way)
- Friends with benefits - Krystal and 1999 Scarlett
- Fuck buddies - Khloe?
But Darci really isn't any of these. She's definitely a friend, she's definitely doing regular sexual stuff with MC (she's grabbing MC's cock in the first few minutes of the game), but both of them (and particularly she) are pretending there's no real interest there. And until she admits that, the sexual part of the relationship just doesn't make much sense to me.
I want Darci and MC to get together, but I want them to be feeling it, and to be open about it.
Riley? Well, the game describes that relationship as "No Clue?", and that's pretty much where I'm at. I don't dislike her, and her remarks in Cindy's bedroom (which I'm going to choose to take seriously, at least unless and until I have a reason not to) indicate a much higher level of devotion to MC than I'd have guessed to that point. She's plenty good-looking, and wild in the sack, but is she someone I'd want to be with? No idea.

Riley is the first time I betrayed my own personal principles in a game just to fuck a character. Her views on food are just wrong.
But there is something about her that gets me fired up. Not the helicopter thing, though. It was funny, but seriously, she needs to tied up with steel cables and shown proper affection while she can't escape.

Yeah, that's the thing, there are two Darcies in this game.
There's the Darcy who's your best friend: she's always been there for you, she teaches you how to fight, trusted you when we went to the past and save her mom, and is the shit ninja that kinda saves you all from a fight.
Then there's the "romantic/sexual" Darcy, who generally acts like a stereotypical tsundere whenever anything like that happens. It was funny at first to see the whole teacher/student dynamic, but it shouldn't have been dragged out more than once.
Her acting like that doesn't fit with her normal persona, and it kinda ruins any kind of relationship they may have. Her two versions seem very different from each other, in my opinion I see her as someone who's not afraid to speak her mind so if she thinks she is in love she would say it.
I think she would have benefited from a slow-burn relationship where like the normal friends to lovers troupe, she initially thinks it's just friendship but that quickly develops as they work together to save her mom. The party afterward could have been the perfect moment for her to confess her feelings. At least, I think this way would have been more natural.
I'm inclined to agree. As a possible counterpoint, the story isn't over yet, so I'm certainly not going to rule out its developing in a way where I like her more.
In general I'd tend to agree, but again I see some possible counterpoints:
- She may not realize, or be able to categorize, what she's feeling. We see this with Stella in Realm Invader--she obviously has a crush on MC, pretty much everyone else sees it, but she denies it, honestly not recognizing what she's feeling (because she's never had one before). Darci's spent the last years at an all-girls school, so could very well not have had (or at least recognized that she had) a crush (or more) before.
- Or the one that shows up in virtually every FTL story, "I don't want to risk our friendship." Fair, reasonable, even pretty realistic. Not entirely honest, but known to pretty much anyone who's spent time in the friend zone.
Was this a different party than the one that consumed 99% of the last update? Because if that's the party you're thinking of, I don't think I agree--it's all about the 1999 girls, there's already a lot going on, and MC's already getting up in his feels with Luna and Jenny. If we see "Darci tells MC how she feels"--and I hope we do--I expect that's going to be in a much more private setting.
