With my old comment as a preface and this more recent comment from you, it seems you might've tried to go back and work a harem kind of situation into the game? Does that mean we can select yes for romance with multiple people now or is it just one romance and the rest are fwbs? Been some time since i played this game, first new scene i can access is with Seralli and the choice given is romance, but i recall there being a bracketed mention of these things being exlusive when they are so i'm just unsure if this is a standard 'activate sex content with this character' or a less restricted romantic relationship option, so no need for the bracketed part.
Most romance routes can be turned into a casual version of them. You'll still get all the scenes, they'll just be a bit different to reflect their casual nature. Out of the top of my head, Eleanor, Seralli, Yda, and Evelyn don't have casual routes. Evelyn and Yda because their routes are weird, and Eleanor because I made her route way before casual routes were a thing and still haven't gone back to fix it. Seralli probably should have a casual route as well, but I just double checked and yes, that choice will lock you into a romance route with her. I'm not too sure why I didn't add a casual route, probably because Seralli is so direct in persuing a romance and I thought it would be cruel to keep her as just a fuck buddy... I'll see if I can add a casual route there, but at the very least I'll add the warning to the scene.
Not all, some characters, like Lena and Amelie, don't care if you sleep around. Some other routes you can opt for a casual version of the character's romance route, but for the rest it will lock you out of other scenes. I thought that all of them had a warning, but as you can see from my answer above, I seem to have missed at least one. Some others don't have a warning, that you'll get locked but you'll get a choice between comiting to that character or starting a casual romance. But the characters that will lock you into a romance route are Eleanor, Seralli, Evelyn, and Yda.

Would it be too much work to add the option to 'reset' your choice in saves made after you've gone back and added an open-relationship romance option? I closed some off and don't have any saves to go back and accept Lena and probably a few others... if not i'll just accept it and get around to it when i do a full play through when the game is completed.
That wouldn't work too well. Routes also depend on you doing some scenes, so reseting the romance status might not make more scenes appear if you have already missed the previous ones. But, you can skip all text by holding S. Using that, it takes a surprisingly short amount of time to go from the start of the game to the end.
Casual romances are basically that.
I'm sure the artist will like to hear that. She loves drawing catboys.

You do you I guess but I don't think Seralli should have casual route, precisely because of the reason you mentioned. Also, I think Eleanor should only have casual relationship if you pursue the slave path. Not all characters should follow the same path if you ask me. Also, this will be a meta reason but none lewd paths of the game is incredible too and forcing players to some of these paths can add it to replayabilty of the game. All IMO though.

Ok, well then i will wait until you've finished adding the casual paths to the earlier splits before doing any of that. Any idea of a rough timeline for that? Next release? Same time next year? No pressure, takes as long as it takes and i'm patient.

Not this year, surely. We just finished a massive update that took us forever, but it only added the new accessory system and Catherine's sprite rework. No new scenes! So we're working on the double now to do some quick release with lots of content to make up for the huge development cycle of the last release.
Quests works, no need to worry. This bug is that location marker appears even though there is no quest there, because it should not exist you can't exit either. You can reload a save and simply don't enter any area without a quest shown on the location list, you should be fine.
I wonder is Lena spin off a possibility, her story before she met with Cath is amazing. All of the characters have somewhat interesting story but her apprenticeship, getting the eye, exile arc, ending up at the capital and working for secret service of the empire. She has an entire lore to discover. Only downside would be low opportunity of lewd scenes.
She had a wild ride. I don't belive we would ever do a spin off like that. Though I suppose I could write a short story on it.
