Seriously? I know this is all subjective but you honestly think DK is a good writer? He's many things - a decent artist, a prolific developer with a clockwork-like release schedule, etc. But to rate him as a good writer is quite preposterous.
I stand by my statement and opinion.. if he was a lousy writer he couldnt have pulled off the stories (that people have liked) such as Pine Falls, Lancaster Boarding House, Dusklight Manor, my girlfriends amnesia and so on.. being a good WRITER.. doesnt include his ability to form a good script.. he can create a good story.. im FAR from defending the narrative he writes and the way he writes it.. but i wont critique his story premise.. he just cant write dialogue and doesnt know how to establish a finale build or final episode..
Dissagree all you want but he wont have built such an audience if the story he told wasnt good.. and i say again.. the STORY... not the dialogue..not the ending.. not the characters.. the STORY's he comes up with are good writing from a creative stand point.
We can all kick someone when their down and i too have so many issues with his work.. but from one writer to another i wont fault his creative vision, Just his ability to finish the job

Only game that is remotelly memorable is Pine Falls and by memorable is a game you don't forget in t-5 minutes, and from what i remember, none of those games where censored...
So your little argument built on writing was based on a time where he actually left scenes in the game and not behind a paywall.
Good writing is based upon the fact that even if you take other aspects of the game away like sex scenes, puzzles, freeroam, etc, the game is still captivating and enjoyable, that clearly doesn't apply here since without the sex scenes to spice it up the game just becomes a average joe of porn games, a game that most people will play but will most certainly take a break every 5 minutes to entertain themselves with something else just to not get pissed off at how boring and annoying the story becomes, because lets be fair, this is not BeingADik, Summers Gonne, Excluded or Artemis level writing, this is like when a dude watches The Real Housewifes, very few will enjoy it but most will find it bearable at most IF they get a bear to distract themselves...

DK's method of writing scripts revealed:
Generate a few random phrases, print them out and glue them to some dice. Roll exactly once per update, never question the heart of the dice and write that shit down.

And I stand by by my point and opinion too. I don't think many people will disagree with me when I say all those games he pulled off were moderately successful because of the art, and DESPITE of the lousy writing.

You seem to be confusing "coming up with an interesting premise for a story", aka a "creative idea", with "good writing". They really are 2 different things.

I agree that most of his story have an interesting premise. Especially when you consider the fact that they are all somehow tied together. But that doesn't make someone a good writer.

Being able to write dialogue and knowing how to establish a proper story ending IS a requirement for being a good writer.

Virtually all of DK's characters have 2-dimensional stereotype personalities. 9 out of 10 female characters are nothing beyond being the target of the MC's weenie. Being able to create interesting characters beyond being an object of sex IS a requirement for being a good writer.

coming up with 'an idea' and its execution are two different things.. if we liked just the idea then we wouldnt have enjoyed 'the majority' of the game and felt disappointed by the dialogue and the endings.. we didnt just like the idea we liked the story we played.. what we didnt like was the writing he used for dialogue, the stupid child games in each one and how he practically abandons everything he establishes in the story when it comes to ending.. just so he can get rid of it and move onto the next

But wouldn't you agree that good writing is made up by begining, middle and end of a story?
Not being able to tie the ending of his stories shows his lack of understanding of what entails a good writing, specially with his plots usually being very simplistic, and as you said, he had a LOT of practice to still be stuck with his mediocrer writing, i've seen a few developers here that had a huge change in writing quality from one game to the other for the better, he is just stuck but acts like quantity beats quality, not to mention now with his addition of a paywall on his game to promote "patreon exclusivity?" like anyone believes that excuse...

Again, I probably won't get a lot of disagreement here if I say that the writing of all his stories are mediocre beginning-to-end on all stories. It's mostly his decent artwork and his clockwork-like release schedule that's holding everything together.

Proper execution of the idea, including good dialogs, interesting characters, and good endings, which by your own admission are stuff that DK lacks, are the very things that would make one a good writer.

:ROFLMAO: I'll be damned but it has the EXACT same issue with the intro main menu as NBTP... note how the "Return" button doesn't work at all once inside the sub-main menu (start/load/pref/etc). Guess once I port SanchoMod to 1440p I'll be able to use much of the prev NBTP code to resolve all the minor issues. We'll see. For now if you want to get back to true main menu, start or load then press esc/right-click and select "Main Menu". It's the same as base NBTP.
