It's curious, I don't remember when Brigette showed any interest in Simon either. I've just tried to be nice to him. Well, I hope that when the moment of truth comes, they give me the option to reject him, otherwise, what a bummer.
I'd guess it's supposed/expected as the effect of the guy saving her (or at least trying) on couple of occasions now, coupled with some time spent on their own when escaping the bandits, etc. He even gets the PTSD backstory to make Brigitte feel extra bad for him.

That's pretty far-fetched, but I trust it won't be something forced, since Brigette herself says she's not sure about her feelings, so I hope they'll let us say no. In any case, I'd rather encourage Simon to give Astrid a chance; they seem to have good chemistry.

Is there a way to make Bridget stay with Bruno instead of running away?
No. She can be briefly recaptured at one point during the escape, but maintaining an entirely separate story branch like that would be beyond the scope of development.

A very minor detail, by the way: If Deborah still believes Esther is Brigitte by the time of the girls' night (where Cassandra and Saturna come out and Emmaline meets the others) then she should know that Brigitte and Emmaline have already met through her once before.

This comes before Deborah's big change-of-heart scene.

It would be neat if the King knew the entire time about Esther or at least fairly quickly, but played along, because even though his health was not the best, the King is no Fool and perhaps another secret reason and knowledge about Esther that somehow connects to the Royal Family.
