Does anyone know why this occurs or have a fix for it? I running a win11, 5800X3D, 3090TI, 32G Ram. Every other rpgmaker game works, and I play a lot of them, this is the only issue I have.. this one game. The title screen backround flashes for a split second(the title does have animation in it from what I found out) then goes to black. Everything else works fine, music, movement etc.. Until I get the the first cutscene of the game, which is animated as well, flash for a split second again and goes black.
Ive already downloaded codec packs on this cpu and I do have the VP9 format. But it has to be some kind of video format/codec issue right?

Hey I know this was a long time ago but could you tell me how to get to the Image.html? I have the same problem with an icon and I have no idea how to get rid of it
As it said, you must install RPG Maker VX RTP, isn't that simple?

Old RPG Maker systems were split into the Runtime Package RTP and the actual engine.
This allowed developers do ship the game via a smaller archive and the enduser could instead download the RTP package seperately - and have this used in multiple games. Faster downloads, less download size, less storage space required on the HDD.
While new RPG Maker systems no longer use this, this means that you'll have to match whatever game your RPG maker game is built on with the RTP which contains the assets (sprites, face images, etc.).

Hey everyone,
Well I got this issue with couple rpg maker mv games, some of them are working fine (as long as I open them with admin privileges), others just stopped working correctly or did not worked from the start.
After run the .exe of those games I got this kind of window (see attached).
No idea what is causing this. Even if I try to open game normally, or via lang locale emulator or with admin privileges it gives me this window. It is weird considering other games using the same engine/ .exe file are working fine. Some even worked fine but then just stopped xd

What's your OS platform?
The attached image does not show an error, just a folder structure. Can you provide an image of the error message when it appears?
RPG Maker MV Game != RPG Maker MV Game.
There can be big differences in how they work, depending on what custom plugins they're running and what code iteration they're using, compared to the NWJS that's installed on your HDD. (e.g. using very recent, experimental js keywords & functions that aren't supported in older versions of nwjs's browser).

Two of them worked fine in the beginning and suddenly just stopped.
Beside that window with this folder structure, there is no error message, so I cannot give you any. I click on .exe icon of those "broken" games (see attach) and that window pops up, for every of them. Other games with the same "game icon/ .exe" are working fine when I open them with admin privileges.

The games in questions have custom mods and there are different versions of them available. Are you using any mods (preinstalled or installed by yourself) and can you specify the versions for any or all of those games for me, so I know which one to take a look at?
EDIT: Your cpu & Ram would also be interesting to know, as well as the default ram usage you have. This usually shouldn't be an issue, but on older pcs, especially if other browser windows are open, and with RPGM loading a lot of high quality images, the RAM can be exceeded which would cause the game to crash. Ruling that out would be helpful.

Cpu Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz with 16Gb ram, I do not think that the issue will be with my specs as those games worked fine in the past. The same version, the same specs and all.
I remember I copied them on the external driver once but also after that, they worked ok (being on that external). And one day they do not. Even after I copied them back on my main disk, they not fix themselves.

Unfortunately I can't seem to be able to reproduce the error. I tested RJ223206 - ver.1.04, japanese version, but both with Locale Emulator as well as normal start I get into the game without issue & can play it.
Without a reliable way to reproduce the error, I can't really figure out what's happening.
The only thing I can think of that might help out is if your nwjs local data is corrupted/damaged, that you reset this.
You can do so by going using the run command:
1.
- %LOCALAPPDATA%/
or going to
-users/*your user name*/Appdata/Local
2.
Enter the folder "KADOKAWA\RPGMV\User Data\Default" if it exists.
Otherwise check the main folder "KADOKAWA\RPGMV\"
3. Remove (transfer elsewhere or delete/archive) the Web Data and the Web Data-journal files.
Doing so will cause them to be updated the next time you launch the app.
If this does not fix the problem but creates further problems, restore the previous files.
I'm wondering does anyone a clean to extract text from RPGM XP? Textractor such, it works but a lot of things are spammed repeatedly.

Hello!
Big RPGM problem. I used to play many RPGM games without problems, even then I had the RPG maker XP that I bought on steam. All RPGM games ran flawlessly on my laptop without even downloading the Run Time Package!
I haven't played any of these games in months and now NONE of them start. I use Windows 10, yes it updates itself regularly, I have an old i5 system on the laptop but the hard drive was replaced with a 3 TB ssd hard drive, this happened before and all the RPGM games still ran on the machine, so the replacement is not the problem .
This happens; when I start the game (no matter which one I tried all the variations) the window pops up a black window and then it jumps out of the game, sometimes you still hear the opening music for a moment but that's it.
All RTPs are installed. What could be the problem??

EDIT.: Sorry I forgot to say, Karryn's Prison is still running without problems. Games whose icon is a compass and are named "nw" run without problems.
EDIT.: I just looked again, it's interesting that Noxian Nights from Hreinn Games doesn't start, but Kingdom of Deception does.
I tried the games again, it seems that now only the RPGM games with the Dragon icon don't work.
