here is my unofficial android port of S.h.e.l.t.e.r. - An Apocalyptic Tale v0.19.
from now on my android ports of Ren'Py games have a 2nd, persistent save location like windows. if you uninstall an app, the save files and persistent data remain intact.
therefore the app needs the permission to access the public external storage, because it has to read and write outside its own external storage directories.
you have to grant the permission or the app is shut down.

Hello, i recently started playing games from F95 due to my pc being broken and just wanted to ask some general questions about doing this on an android device. My biggest concern is saves within games. As in if I delete the app and get it maybe later will the saves still be there? And how do I generally update these apps? Download the newest version and install or or can you unninstall the old one and go forward with the new?

- you have to backup your saves prior deinstallation of the app, otherwise your saves are also deleted
- updating an app works only for the same porter, the app id and the signing key must be the same
- if an update is not possible, backup your save files, uninstall the app and install the new version

Any advice on backing up save files? I've tried to look at where they'd be but honesty have no idea.

I think this is deliberate, if you notice, it changes based on who's talking, so when the Android speaks, she's brought to the front, then when Angela talks, she's brought to the front.
