I just finished the game and don't understand the problem and why people are angry and review-bombing at all. This game now have a direction and I like it. Yes, now it's more like a demo in terms of content but he will add same amount really fast i believe because it's already partly done.

I didn't miss it at all. Previous versions didn't make ANY SENSE, it wasn't even close to Karryn's prison. Combat was divided in 2 parts for no reason (but i didn't check this game for a long time) and gameplay was like: you go and complete a game without any problem and after that you go and lose on purpose to see H (bad game design) - but now it's all solved, yes it's clunky but have direction.
The only 'direction' this game has is heading directly towards the nearest fucking dumpster, my guy. Are you being ironic or do you genuinely believe this game is going anywhere AFTER the dev said it's going on 'hiatus'?

Quality review, my man, keep it up.

I don't get how the card game works. He said it was supposed to make the game harder but I've just been clicking cards at random and still win with ease. At least I understood the old simple combat system.

We're talking 2 gangbang session (remake) of Saria, to the point of mind broken each time, the culprit(Vel) laughing as he count his unsavoury gotten money he got from Saria supporters, and lastly, Saria abadoned in a trash can level

Wish this game was still in the works tbh, just revert back to v0.13.1 and continue from there...
Don't really see why the game needs to be on hold, I get not wanting to because u put so much hard work into the other re-designs, but the game was big bc of the ORIGINAL content, not the new style.

Many people wish this game's older version was still being updated. Sadly, this dev has proven multiple times that he is a weird person who will make games where his main audience is "himself", while throwing tantrums when he sees that people don't approve his changes (this whole game's fiasco is because of that). His newest game is also shit that barely works, just like how Saria Reclaimed also became a buggy, poorly thought out mess once he changed the game to a VN with card mechanics.

The new game is out? Well, not surprised to hear it's a buggy mess. Somehow he's unable to playtest his own shit, or maybe he does and releases it in a terrible state anyway. Pretty much was the case for Saria aswell, and only got worse and worse.

One would think that if you're able to code/program games like this, you'd also be able to fix borderline gamebreaking and major bugs. Dude acts like he's eating wisdom for breakfast being the know-it-all, but then provides his patrons with a barely working product. Actual shitshow. lol

Yeah, it's called Cogito Line. He released the very first version in early April, it's filled with bugs to the point of progressively becoming less working the more you play it (I'm not joking, the game progressively gets slower and laggier the more you play it until it just softlocks) and he's been silent ever since. Maybe he's working on a new update, maybe not, in the end he's still a very abrasive person that, as I said before, somehow makes games for himself but readily accepts money every month and gets pissed when people critique his works.

As a game dev myself, this fucking kills me to hear. Making changes because you consider yourself the audience for the game is beyond stupid, its like me creating a song about how fucking amazing and hot I am then getting pissed when people complain about the song, having temper tantrums and reposting the same song disrespecting and calling out people who didn't like the original song, resulting in an even worse song which more people hate.
But with a fucking game, you make it for others, not yourself. If you want to make money making games then you'll make a decent amount on the side by listening to the audience and giving them what they want, the one fucking key rule is "listen to your audience" and to do that you need an audience other than one fucking person.
Beyond stupid, if you want a game for YOU then make it available for ONLY YOURSELF.

To be fair, I don't think that making a game for yourself is strictly bad, the biggest problem is Velminth's reaction to criticism, if I have to single out a reason.
I have two examples of people making a game (and a porn game, at that) for themselves and not being fucking assholes about it:the first is by mminitdev and the second is Some Heroines Climb Up a Tower to Ask God Why the Game Has a Name That's So Long by Sinful Salad Games.
In the first example the author is straight up just making a porn game driven by passion, as the only way to give him money is by a donation that itch.io allows, but only if you want to, because the game is free. And it's his second game, with his first one being made the same way.
In the second example, while the creators are accepting money via patreon, they're completely honest about what they're doing and why the're doing.
Both examples are united by a rather simple thing: they are not throwing tantrums the second they hear criticism about their games. Like, I fucking hate rogue-likes and I wish "Some Heroines" was a rogue-lite instead, but I wouldn't dare say that it's a bad game. You can check the dev's responses of both examples, if you want, and you'll notice that they respond in a respectful manner and don't try to belittle critics, unlike Velminth who straight up called people slurs when people criticized the card mechanics.

Yep, there isn't anything wrong with creating things for yourself and showing it to other people, but it's entirely different when you insult other people that criticise your creation. From the single moment you showed it to other people, you already open yourself up to be judged, whether you like it or not. Of course, if the criticism is just nonsense, then you can ignore or insult the critic, but that's not the case with Vel.

I'm pretty sure I already said it multiple times now, but everything that happened could have been reduced, or even avoided, if Vel had communicated. At least once. Not even proper or improper, he never communicated about his intentions. He promised us a lot of things in the past but he threw it all in the drain.

I know I sound like a broken record at this point, but I still say it in case Vel reads my post (yeah I know, hell freezing over got a higher chance than Vel reading this). Welp, this will be my last post regarding Vel unless some licking dog come here and need a few beating.
