He gave out a new version every month, before remake. Literally no grifter has done that. He also did put a poll on his patreon for changing the system back to classic RPGM after backlash. Classic RPGM didn't win that poll. You would have known if you were actually subscribed or paid for it.
You guys are quite effective at not getting what you want. On, OPM, the animators get a budget based on how likely they would get a return.
When you review bomb a series, that series is dead. No investment, nothing. "Make it better instead from criticism" no bro, your critisim blew its brains out. It's over.
You won't see someone touch it anytime soon. Because investors and CEOs will think it's trash.
I haven't read every single thread here (127 pages...), but imo he's not a grifter in terms of tricking people to steal a money, he's a typical grifter in that he rakes in subs while spinning in circles, seemingly out of incompetence or malice, not that it matters in the long run.
Again, not new. I could sit here and name tons of games that haven't had a meaningful update in
years, one of which is making well over
15k USD a month. The reasons for this are many yet somehow always in the same box. Engine upgrade, graphic/code remaster, random new project out of the blue (again and again), mysterious vague injury that is very common and specifically destroys one's ability to sit in a chair and draw/code, treadmill update (I have a few games I follow in which the devs are still active, still saying the patch is coming, and in one of those cases it's been just about 8 years now that patch has been coming, and no I'm not joking).
Again, no personal grudge here and I am thrilled these creators found success. It's not easy to do, especially now, but it's hard to watch them turn around and shit on the faces of those who supported them with a smile even if those people don't mind. I just wish they respected their craft and their supporters more. What this dev has done really isn't acceptable, at this point what are people even supporting? Him boredly experimenting with personal projects that will never be finished?
And you really don't think people have a right to be mad or at the very least disappointed at that?
And please, next time sit down and think very carefully before you point at the most zealous, parasocial, emotionally attached core followers' herd decision as a meaningful source of... well, anything. We've seen that mistake play out time and time again and it is literally how cults become... well cults. If you're going to ignore the opinions of anyone but the most faithful followers with extreme bias, then there's no point in talking since logic isn't on the table.
And clearly, you're not getting what you want either... unless you wanted to not get something you supported 3 times already lmao.
EDIT:
And for the record, I didn't give the game a negative review as I don't think it's fair for the current issue at hand, but I still understand the frustration and still believe the dev has to accept responsibility for what happened as it was the result of his decision and nothing else.
