Going off of this post, they lost their day job, and the plan was to move back with their parents and get a new job. And since then, they were hospitalized with Covid for a long stretch, and lost their parents, and considering I expect their plan was to live cheap with their parents, I reckon that has thrown a spanner in the works.

I agree that's a long stretch without working and I would be going "haha nope this is a scam" if the patreon wasn't paused; But as it stands, I don't think that undoes anything of what I said. I wouldn't be surprised if they have had to get a job, haven't worked much on the game, and also don't want to come back with a "hey yeah I'm still alive but don't have anything to release yet," if only because I've felt similar before.

Well yeah, but it's been months, dude. Is a simple, "I'm still alive, real life issues have stopped development, but I haven't given up. I'll be pausing the patreon until I continue development." so much to ask? I mean, people love this game, I doubt there would be many, if any, people that were legitimately pissed off. Maybe a couple, and sure people will be disappointed, but shit, the unknown is always worse. If you don't know the problem, you can't do anything about it.

Mayby they do not give any information because they are unable to answer. This is already the third developer I heard of where it is said (s)he suffers from Covid Infection and maybe he had like the others a relapse and so is unable to do anything more because at best he only suffers from long covid or in ICU or at worst he bit into the gras.
I really hope it is just stress from the shit situation that makes forget the updates but we have to consider the possibility of them goingt to the afterlive.

You must be registered to see the links
as pretty much what you wanted. They're not doing so hot in just about every aspect of their life and I'm sure making a niche porn game for only around 100 paying fans isn't among their top concerns at the moment. They'll likely update when they can, and if they don't I just hope they're alright.

That was April 2021, not even the most recent post, and the last time they said they'd have an update out soon was after that yet still months ago, as pointed out.

Yes, actually. A lot of creative people attach their self image and self worth to their work, and failing to deliver on promises made and disappointing people creates a lot of self loathing and shame for some. It's hard to come forward, and anything they might say just feels like an excuse.

Sometimes people just want to deal with things quietly and privately.

i can only wish the dev the best of future luck. may he get at least some happyness back. covid took so many lifes by now and everyone who downplayed that dissease should be so fucking ashamed of themselves that even their reflection in the mirror would turn their back disappointedly.

it's really fucking tragic :cry:
