I can never remember it's name . . . I believe it begins with "Kol" or something like it ? :unsure:

Have seen this style used a lot for NSFW games .

I think the style is just hentai/anime. But most of these games are made using Koikatsu. Koikatsu is actually a game. But it is heavily modded, so that we can pose characters and create maps. Allowing devs to use them as a makeshift graphic engine.

well despite the horrendous choice of visual engine, this turned out to be a shockingly good title. I enjoyed the lore, characters, world building, and the spin on the genre a lot more than expected.

Yeah, to be honest with you I didn't know how many people hated Koikatsu CGs. I just used the first thing where I found the assets I would need. Maybe I should have looked for other options.
But to be fair, it is pretty easy to use. Knowing I wanted to tell a long story it is kinda good I use it. Otherwise finishing this would take forever.
But I am happy you enjoyed the other parts.

People who hate KK are over represented because they're so fucking loud about it. Most people don't really care either way

I wont lie I usually auto ignore games with visuals like this, esp porn ones cause they just looks so y2k and theres all kinds of issues with them, but I was pretty desperate for something to do and Im quite glad I took the chance. Everything else about this game was pretty great. I especially liked that each chapter has a really solid 'gameplay length' to it in terms of how long it takes to complete one. Im sure even with HS2 that would be infinitely harder to achieve

I feel this avn is kinda turning into "mc explains magic universe the game" would be nice to get some more stuff with out explanations of how the world works it's getting kinda boring.
Yeah. Sometimes I can't help but deliver exposition.
People who play D&D/Pathfinder probably already know a bunch of these things.
I try to only explain things when they go against what is in popular culture, to avoid problems and confusion later.
I also try to deliver exposition in a way that seems natural and make sense in game. Most of these will be relevant later on. Even more, the ones I repeat.
But I agree with you, exposition is hard to deliver and can be boring if you don't care about these details.

I can see the issues. I also think the graphics are not the best around. But I am a programmer, not an artist. I have to make do with what I have. But yes, even HS2 would probably take more time. Using KK I can develop the story the way I want.

for the most part it works well, I just blitz the sex scenes cause those always look goofy as hell, but I just cannot take the dragons in their dragon form seriously lol :D
As for recognition I did pimp this out in my usual AVN haunts an told people it was worth the go despite the visuals so hopefully youll get some more traffic from that

Yeah. The main thing I was looking for was the dragon model.
I just went with it once I found one that I could pose.
I try to keep a consistent update schedule, even if the releases aren't the biggest around.

Yeah.
Even this one I had to customize a bit. The dragon asset I found was green, but I wanted red.
I had to learn how to unpack the asset, paint the texture, and repack, to use it.

this is an older image a friend did. Daz has come a LONG way this last year or two for fantasy elements but ... not 'freely available' which is the biggest problem with daz I think... the $$$ hurdle

I actually thought about learning Daz and trying to remake this game. Not for now, maybe a future project.
The rules I set for myself include buying all the assets I would need before starting anything.
But even then, because of the size of the game, I would probably not do it full CG.
I would do it with backgrounds, and show the characters' images over it. Only doing full CG on some scenes.
A bit like Love Season did.
I would also need to buy a better PC with a powerful GPU.
But yeah $$$ and time are the biggest issues here.
