Well, I assume this is mainly thrown at me.
So that's my bad. I don't like to be negative. It's just that I had this game down as my new entry one to watch for this year. And it was one of the few AVNs I was eagerly awaiting on for updates to play quickly. And also recommending to anybody with that "taboo" itch that I came across. As I rated it PRETTY DAMN highly.
But, now that its committed what I personally consider "a cardinal sin". That being to Kill off a prior MC, just to then REUSE his LIs with another MC. The whole thing just feels...disappointing and unpleasant now. So yeah, with that being the case. It's probably not actually going to be one for me anymore I guess, sadly. So, I'll just leave you all to it. As I really don't want to just keep being a whiner.

Just a few quick points. It seems like there are a few main issues. What I am about to say is descriptive, not prescriptive. I am not necessarily saying that I agree with these views or hold them myself, nor that they should lead to any specific actions, nor outcomes. Nor am I saying that anyone else must agree or accept them. I am just trying to point out the issues clearly so that people can't dance around them, gaslight others, or misrepresent them and their views.
1. The Boxed In Mc being killed off screen has left a bad taste in some people's mouths, it leaves them feeling like they wasted their time with that game and people don't generally like wasting time or having things they felt a connection to taken from them without consideration. It also invalidates anyone's choices and ending for that game, forcing a canon ending or set of events.
2. The behavior of the females in Boxed In impacts them in this game, because they were all very much all about the Mc of that game, setting up a situation to basically entrap him to fucking them, and a few of them are pregnant and you are forced to fuck them in that game (taking several of their virginities) even if you resist the "game" within the game. Thus leaving some to wonder what it says about those ladies that they might now be so quick to fuck a new Mc just because it's a new game and he is now the Mc.
3. The cross-over characters were introduced with no indication that this was what was happening. There was no clue or indication that we were about to meet characters from the other game and learn the information about the Mc of that game and possible begin a path to fucking them. So, while in hindsight, if you don't want that content you can go back and avoid it, or avoid it moving forward, there is no indication in game about this content and it's intention. And not everyone reads the forums and so some might still not know the intention of that scene and how/why it can be avoided and where it will lead. Some now may feel set up or like they were teased. They might feel tricked into hearing about the canon death of the Boxed In Mc and now left wondering about what else happened and what the canon ending is, thus making them feel like they are going to miss out on much more than just sex scenes if they skip that content, they will be missing out on the true ending and outcome of Boxed In. This leaves many people feeling upset or uneasy.
4. Knowing that the dev killed the Boxed In Mc off screen and in an off handed callouses way can cause many to wonder, "Will the same thing happen to this Mc?" Why should we invest time and effort into this Mc if he could just be killed after this game for some reason like setting up some of his love interests to be love interests in another game? Some now feel like they wasted their time on Boxed In (as pointed out above) and that this game might/will also be a waste of time now.
5. Unlike in a game where a father/boyfriend/etc. is killed before the game began in this situation many people played as and felt a connection to the Mc of Boxed In. He isn't a faceless character that was killed off to open the door for this Mc to have more sexy ladies, he was an Mc of his own game and story, with women dedicated and in love with him and openly declaring such and even driving him to fuck them even if he was reluctant.
All that being said, as I said before, I intent to keep playing and see how it goes. I like the rest of the story enough, and depending on execution I might be fine with the cross-over too, we'll see. I just also see these points and understand them, even if I don't hold or agree with all of them myself they are not irrational or silly.

Got to say it is a bit much. The characters we've met themselves say he looks just like him, it is common in real life for people to become attracted to someone who looks much like the love of their life, not just in visual novels etc.
I don't understand how people are so connected to a character from such a short game, I mean Secrets and Promises feels as though it is already almost as long as Boxed In and it's definitely far from complete. My 2 cents, just ignore it, move forward with the original plans. Don't let a handful of whiny people hamper your plans, I am sure when this game is done, people will have completely forgotten about their hesitancy.

I'm still playing the update. But I think I liked it better when I thought Sue was the villain and not the puppet of the actual villain of the story. I mean I get why it's not the case since she is a LI and some plot lines do make more sense and fall in place from previous updates after seeing that reveal.
Don't get it twisted, friend. Sue is definitely still quite villainous. Depending on your route, MC even points out that, even though she started off with noble intentions, and was forced into her current role, she still shoots and kills Simon in cold blood, with no hesitation. She also claims to be "protecting" her "maids" but has zero qualms with forcing them to be her personal sex slaves, and even worse, forcing them to sexually satisfy strange men.
All that said, I originally intended to close off her LI path completely, assuming she was going to be the typical stuck-up femdom type. Especially considering how she treats her "maids". However, as a completionist, I gave her path a look and was pleasantly surprised to see that she is actually extremely submissive. I may still dislike her as a person, due to her evil inclinations, but since we have no choice but to work with her to progress the plot, I can at least enjoy her sex scenes, as they're very hot and well done.

oh yeah I know she is still a bad person and pretty much a villain. I more or less just meant I liked it before when I thought she was the main villain and not a puppet to the main villain of the story . Her sob story isn't enough to make me feel for her as a person but just the people around her. Hell im only playing her path on my other saves just to see the content I don't even care for her. I would love if we get the option to kill her or something.

Finished the update. I won't repeat what I said above. but I liked the update starting to get good from the looks of things in the story. After this update I say I finally gonna put Cara in the dislike Category glad I decided to redo my saves so she is only on my content saves in the previous update. While I had my reservations about her on account of her being the MC's daughter , she is being to reckless for me , for her to be anything but a content save. Plus the fact im not into the whole father / daughter thing.
Cara is one of my favorite LIs so far, but unlike you, I'm a big fan of the daddy/daughter stuff. Surprisingly, though, Mary is currently my favorite LI, especially after her content in this update. Mary is the first LI to get deflowered by MC, and it was such a sweet and well-written scene.
There are very few LIs I actively dislike in this game. Not a big fan of Sue, due to her personality, but her scenes are hot. I wouldn't touch the woman from the warehouse with a 10-foot pole. Don't care for Alex, partially because of her tattoos, but mostly I just dislike her overly slutty personality/behavior. If that all turns out to be an act, and she's actually a virgin trying to hide her insecurity behind a slutty mask, then I'll give her a shot. Her tattoos aren't bad enough to be a dealbreaker on their own.
I'm on the fence with Alison, mostly because I don't like how she handled the situation with MC and Cara. She should have done the paternity test the moment she learned she was pregnant, and left Pete immediately after. At the very least, she should have told Cara the truth as soon as Pete died, especially since she knew how happy it would make Cara.
I really like Lucy and her daughter, but I am a little worried that MC's niece is a streamer. I hope she remains just a "gamer girl" streamer and doesn't devolve into just another overdone camwhore trope. I did not like when MC was thinking "please be OnlyFans!" Hopefully it was just dev joking about the trope, and not an actual red flag. Would hate to think MC is actually okay, or worse, happy about the idea of his niece being a prostitute.

not gonna lie I would welcome a onlyfans / camgirl from Lucy's daughter if it was another other game cause I find it's rare to find that troupe from a main girl as usually they are side girls , at least the ones ive played. But honestly im on the fence about the niece as it's kind of close to the father / daughter type of relationship for me. I have to see how her character develops.
The Mary scene while I like her character I didn't really like the scene personally , well rather I didn't like how the sex was initiated by the MC it just gave me a bit of creepy / icky feeling how it started. As I felt it should of been obvious to the MC she was a virgin by the way she acts or at least someone with not alot of experience.
tbh right now I only like Nettie , Violet , Nicole and Lucy
Alison I did like at first but starting to not be a fan of her while not a straight up dislike just not into her anymore really.
Sarah was someone I liked alot but after this update im not sure how I feel about her either. While I understand the whole not wanting a romantic relationship , it also kind of made me less interested in her character as a whole.
Everyone else I either don't care one way or another about , unsure about or I dislike them / not interested.
I really hate the idea of prostitute LIs, which is why I'm so against the OF/camgirl idea. If a character goes that route, I won't even view it on a content save. It just grosses me out. Especially if the character is a family member; that's usually enough for me to drop a game entirely.
As for Mary, I didn't get the creepy vibe from that scene. She was clearly into it, and while MC may have been the one moving things along, nothing seemed forced or rushed to me. She was clearly into it, and was never put in a position where she couldn't say no and walk away. She's made her feelings about MC very clear from the start, and is always the one coming to his room at night. It's pretty normal for an inexperienced girl to be guided by a more experienced man, and she was constantly giving him verbal consent and affirmation as the scene progressed.
Nettie is definitely near the top of my list so far. I've liked Violet since the beginning, but she jumped way up my list after the date night. She definitely has major cuckquean potential, with her aggressively pushing for MC to get with their daughter, who is another of my favorites. I like what little we've seen of Nicole and Lucy so far.
Like you, I really liked Alison at first, but the more we learn about her past, and her poor decision-making skills, the less I like her. I'm still willing to give her another chance, if she does better moving forward. Now that everything is out in the open, I really think she can start bettering herself. One of her main problems is trusting people. She always seems to expect people to react the worst way possible to the truth, and it's caused a lot of unnecessary trouble for Cara and MC.
I honestly never cared much for Sarah. Didn't especially dislike her, but didn't like how fast she jumped into bed with MC. I only did the Sarah route as a content save, since Mary is best girl. I like Sarah's and Dawn's lewd scenes, but not really interested in them as LIs. Dawn may be alright, but we've learned virtually nothing about her yet, so I'll withhold judgement for now. Like you, though, I really didn't like that Sarah seems too detached. Doesn't seem like she's actually that into MC, aside from being a walking dildo to scratch her itch. I did see a bit of a red flag for Dawn, when Sarah told MC to tell Dawn "he's her Barry." Sounds like maybe Dawn had her own walking dildo that she didn't mind passing around in the past.

if they were an prostitute id agree unless it's a certain type of game or context / story behind it then id consider it. I don't see OF/camgirl as a prostitute LI at all it's completely different to me , since there is no physical content there and it's all online.
I mean I don't disagree but still can't help but get that creepy / icky feeling from how it started but that is just a me issue. Not enough for me to dislike her or not play that path. That feeling only lasted for like 5 seconds basically after the first few thrust I didn't care anymore , just didn't like how he put it in.
Yeah, my personal view on prostitution is a bit broad, I'll admit. If a person is engaging in sexual acts(stripping, masturbation, or any form of sex) in exchange for money, it's prostitution in my eyes, whether online or not. I'm very much against sharing LIs, and that includes not having LIs show their naked bodies to other guys.
