I can see that it's hard to make something great or even just good when you're alone and you have to do everything by yourself when it comes to writing AND coding AND rendering and I can totally understand how it's hard to go on when you lose backup and get mostly negativity, but what I can't understand is how people always tend to turn things around so they're the "victim". No offense to the dev and maybe I see it the way I do, because I played everything in "one sitting" instead of updates, but I can't say that the weirdness and not understanding what the hell is going is something that just snuck into the game, it was someting that was always there, especially with weird jumps from like day 9 or something to day 35 and then 160. In the end the patrons are receivers and the dev is the provider, so the answer can't be something like "but they didn't understand what I tried so say" - like it or not, but it's your obligation to deliver something people will get and like.
With that being sad I don't want to only badmouth the game. The renders forexample are pretty good in my opinion and the coding also seems to work, but everything will go down if one of the three pillars (writing, coding, rendering) crumbles hard, so the way I see it there are three possible ways out of this current mess.

1. The dev says fuck it, gets himself someone to write a better tuned story the way it was supposed to be so things start to add up instead of scene after scene where everything seems more disjointed than anything.
2. The dev says fuck it, scraps the game and starts something new and still pairs up with a decent writer.
3. The dev says fuck it, scraps the game and starts something new alone, this time with a roadmap at hand so he knows where he wants the story to be with every update.

I left out the obvious one out where everyone says fuck it and moves on.

It was a bit hard to follow along with the plot but I don't think the game is bad because of it. While I don't like the way Cherry is speaking to the mc, I can understand wanting him to get stronger. He should really shake of any residual magic and do what he wants instead of always being forced to do what others want him to. The time skips and the like were hard to follow but I am still interested in the story. I can understand the patrons that have dropped out but I believe with a good update he is going to begin gaining them back and then some.

If it'll be better to take time away from the project entirely, just to rest & recharge, I'd say that might be something to consider.
Something like, a month entirely and come back to it with a fresher and re-energised approach before continuing any work on it.

I'll do the rendering and editing while he is away.
He is still too young to digest the negativity surrounding his game. Personally I've never found the plot to be confusing. It's just too convoluted for many since they are used to stories with flat plotline.
Not everybody pay full attention while playing an adult game and this has been proven many many times here.
What triggered him is the constant complaints of forced ntr and then finally the backers leaving him. I think he is making less than half of what he used to make before the update.
Many devs out there making a fortune while not having a release for months or just riding the typical incest horse. And adult game fans aren't really big fan of complex story.

This is his first game so it's expected to make mistakes and then learn from those mistakes.

Regrettably true, but I will say that my favourites are rich in story and well developed characters.
Depraved Awakening & The Last Sovereign are both entirely different games (the latter currently has no visuals for the copious amounts of sex scenes) with really enjoyable plots and characters.

This game has been shaping up very nicely and though I regret being unable to support financially, I do look forward to its updates, enough that I'm more interested in the story being told than I am in the pornographic aspects.

This is his first game so it's expected to make mistakes and then learn from those mistakes.

Fingers crossed the experience doesn't leave him as cynical a bastard as I am.
My initial reaction to most people complaining about "NTR" and not being able to follow the story is that they're fucking morons who can't read and should probably spend more time back in school... I'm not even 40 yet and think like a middle-aged retiree when it comes to people.

I still don't understand what is the "forced NTR" they are talking about. I found the story, while not straightforward, which this time is a good thing, pretty pretty good.
Don't get me wrong, I would have taken more time with each scene, making the story slower, and make the transitions smoother, but overall is damn fucking good.
I found it even more weird about people complaining that it is confusing given the fact that Dev starts the story saying: "look, there is a reason why this story is not told sequentially". I mean, you were told from the beginning "you need to pay attention". I am not gonna claim anything as strong "is the reader's fault for being stupid" as not everybody is used to this kind of writing. But if told in advanced, you should not complain about it. At least not beyond constructive criticism.
I think it would be a pity if the story is left unfinished. It has a lot of potential.

It's a tough sell for fans to live in the skin of an MC who is making shit happen like a boss and then to suddenly take that away in such a manner that he's now being controlled by at least three females: One who dev tells us is doing so to help him (Cherry - who threatens to kill MC), one who's the main Domme villain (Lileva) and one cuck-teasing him (dev explains that Selina didn't actually cuck MC with new-BF Jason but was playing mindgames) - all at once in one update. Oh, and his 'actual' long-distance girlfriend is lying to his face and hooking up with her whipping-post/cum-dumpster mother (which in this context feeds into MC having no control/respect). Also, MC's mother is being held slave-hostage and Jason's sister and mother are suddenly treating MC like toy-trash. Uh, wut?

We're eating this up in piece-meal update fashion and we pick our smut poisons carefully.

Our last moments in the previous update were badass: Finally fucking Cherry with Selina compassionately/passionately helping the moment along. Then in the last update we have an absolute reversal (not just in story but in MC's status and sense of self). Sure, the story may suss it all out eventually. Sure, there's time-skipping and an assumed wonderful reason behind it all - but the writer needs to step back and realize that the rollercoaster went off the rails suddenly in a way that was just bizarre (in the drive, passion, and interest of the fans).

I feel for the dev and appreciate his candor and willingness to see that things went awry. I hope it's salvageable; I do want to know what happens next. I just wish we didn't have to get abruptly pwned three ways from Sunday as the sum of the last update. If doom has to happen, ease us into it, take care to explain why, give us something to work on/for. I go in enjoying a developing-alpha story and some hard times and setbacks along the way - but midstream helplessness and outright puppetry are doom. I think this is why people are distilling it down to "NTR/cuck/beta" because that's how it felt.

I don't see your point. MC was never once in power in this story. He never chose anything and was always manipulated/induced/convinced or simply let things happen. So if that is your definition about "alpha" I am sorry to tell you that MC has never been one in this story. SPOILERS STARTS
More in detail. Lileva: is a goddess, so it is expectable that our human MC can't do anything about it, at least in the beginning (remainder, story just got to the starting point, everything so far was explaining how you started). Still, our average joe human got has the interest of a goddess. Selina: the story literally starts with MC in a sexual relantionship with her and it is obvious from day one that she loves the MC. So the whole relationship with Jason was irrelevant and you pretty much know it. Cherry: out of the 3 you mentioned this one is the hardest to understand. The only thing that is known so far is that Cherry is quite pissed off with MC. Why is not obvious yet. At least it was not to me. But she is somehow punishing MC. Still, we are talking about your demon daughter, which you did not treat very nicely until the last moment and if anything it was just because you got help from Selina. And Even after doing that she still seems to love you, even if angry. I don't know, the more I read about the less of "controlled" he seems. Even if like I said, he was never truly in power.

I again disagree with this. Some events can be foreshadowed. Others can't. Take Acting Lessons for example. I will not get into details, so as not to spoil anything if you have not read it. But if you did, it should be obvious shit can hit the fan in a second and many times MC has no idea what is going on at the moment ( Acting Lessons is an example of a story that essentially thrives in that) This is particularly true with stories like this one, with
"average Joe is plunged in a supernatural world" setting. Dev mentioned there were going to be 4 routes ahead (if i remember correctly). It is most likely, you would have need all routes to make up what is really going on.

Game opens with big-dicked perfection-bodied MC getting slobnobbed into wakefulness by Selina as she gets him off talking fantasy about her own mother watching (she knows he has a long distance GF, she has a BF). He briefly makes out with a flirting Veronica shortly after. Yes, it's present day. Back 6 months and he's still pulling some good shit off.

Is someone altering the situation? Sure. If there's a bimbo potion involved, is the guy employing it no longer considered to be dominating/succeeding/obtaining women? Or if he acquires magic, or if he makes a deal with the Devil or is gifted by a Goddess? If the king of a fantasy kingdom declares MC to have the sole duty of 'Breeder Knight', and his job is to roam the country-side impregnating peasants, does that suddenly make the MC non-alpha in role and action? I don't know what to tell you. Yes, in the story, we're being told he's being manipulated (though it seems like the people around him are being manipulated far more than he is) - but in the eroticism that matters he's living out the role of someone getting what he wants and then some early on in the experience of the fan enjoying the game/VN. Hell, with MC's setup, does he even need demonic manipulation to pull off some of the shit he has?

My point is less about the technical storyline and more about the sexual rollercoaster wins as it pertains to the fan embodying the MC as the story unfolds.

I don't know how to write this post but I'll just give it a go.
I think I've worked close to 3 months on the last update (0.8). Gave my heart and soul, worked day and night to make it as good as possible. I had to cover 6 months of plot in a single update. It wasn't easy but I did. I think I've done a pretty good job at completing the circle from (0.1) to (0.8). We've managed to reach the beginning of the game without losing anything. Wasn't easy for me. As a lone developer it was very very difficult to do considering the fact that there were over 500 renders and 15 animations.
Throughout the whole journey of making this game there has been a common issue. That is not being able to understand the plot. I take the full responsibility for my inability to write a proper script and for failing to make it understandable.
This game and it's genre isn't exactly very common to adult game fans and I've always been adamant on making it the way I've planned. I understand that many of you expect the game to go a certain way due the fact that the fetishes listed are always taken for granted in a certain manner. But I'm not one to follow the trend like every other developers do. It's not in me. I have my own principals. As it turns out those principals have rather taken me to a very uncomfortable stage.
I have a very small follower base but I've always felt proud of the little community.
My understanding was that you guys understood the plot and paid attention to every bit of the plot. But that wasn't the case and you can probably see that I've lost a huge chunk of backers that were enabling me to work lot more on the game.
I've received many texts from you venting your frustration and anger on me regarding the diversion on Selina's plot. I don't know why and how that happened. I really don't understand the sudden outburst.
The Selina-Jason thing has always been there from the beginning. I thought you were paying attention to the plot. I have said this many many times that the game doesn't have "NTR", I hate NTR but still I've been accused of forcing NTR on this game. It really boggles my mind.
As a result I've been losing Patrons since the release. I've gone down so much that now I'm being forced to have second thoughts.
If you've been following this game since the beginning then you know that I've never made a release that had over 200-220 renders. It takes time to make an update. I've broken that barrier for the last one because you have given me the backing to actually work lot more and forget everything else.
I have a debt of almost $25,000. I work 8 hours a day to survive. It's really not easy. What I was making on Patreon helped me to not worry about certain aspects of my life and to dedicate myself on the game instead. I never had the plan to add animations on the game this early. But many of you were asking for them and so I added them. It takes 6-9 hours to make one just in case you don't know.
I can't complain about losing patrons because ultimately it's my fault.
I've failed to make a game that engages the player with the plot smoothly. It's understandable if you think the story is going the negative way. That's my own lacking as a writer.
The interest on this game has died down a lot after the last update and I'm still losing backers every single day. It's going to be extremely difficult for me to work on a project that doesn't have much a value in it. Money isn't always the issue but I can't really keep spending my time on it if the ultimate result is losing more and more interest.
After going through everything, I've decided that the next update is going to be the last one unless I magically manage to recoup the trust and support. I highly doubt anything's going to change. Never seen anyone changing their mind after making their own assumptions.
I haven't stopped working on the next one. It's going to come out regardless of what's been going on. Could take another month or two. So anyone who has pledged this month will get the game whether you decide to stop backing or not.
I have nothing against you. It's all down to me and I apologize.
I really really wanted to finish this game but I just can't keep investing my time on a loss project knowing more people are just going to stop following.

Think a way to solve the plot issue would be to make some sort of plot summary (or a chronology?) inserted in the game menu. The plot's understandable to me but I understand it can be a bit much for some people when you're away from the story for 2-3 months
