Why is there a "Crippling Jezera influence" effect on my Spies screen lol. I think I've been a good boy throughout my playthrough. Does anyone know what causes it

You start with it. You can lower it by asking jezera for more control over spies in the favour menu
This Dnd style of rolling die to determine success or loss doesn't really work well in this format. It would be fine if you added content in fail case scenario and invested more in every consequence, but that's not the case here. Failing a role die isn't meaningful and just slaps the player on the face. Take BG3 for example, even if you fail on the die roll, the effect is still fun and affects the story. In here, it just makes people want to save scum and avoid wasting a day.
I hope you remove this 'gameplay' as this just sucks the life out of players and doesn't make the game more fun.

I don't think it is that binary else you would always get the same results while you can rollback and forward till you pass certain checks.
Huh I could have swear that it was just a Jezera relationship check (called favor in the code) but maybe I'm misremembering

It would indeed require some form of divination to find that out. Maybe kill a goblin so we can read the entrails?
I'm a bit short on gobbos right now... I was hoping to somehow summon the entity known as the mighty Dev to answer me, but I knew it was a long shot.

Honestly bro- I don' think the devs have a clue when a2 will release. They have been saying one more year since years ago and the goal post keeps moving.

I don't think it is intentionally malicious false advertising- rather just some combination of overconfidence / ignorance / optimism. Throw in some speed-bumps with the writing team (personnel roller-coaster / low production from a few of the writers / side fluff content to train new writers on) and if you're looking at what still needs written in game one, you are still looking at maybe another full year or two of releases before you get a whiff of act2.

Pay attention to the bulk of the next release. It will be the second release since the team got 3 new writers. Will prob showcase how development might go over the next bit.
