Waiting is worth it and some ppl just need to stop treating this game as their main game.
Like who ? Most people see an update notification, and just check where the game is at, and going. So far, bare a few trolls, I mostly see legitimate reactions over it, even when sometimes negative. After all, it has been a long time going. You can't really accuse people of being impatient here, as if they were whining over some update being a month late lol

But other than that, yes the game is worth the wait.

Look you want to make anything slightly more complex than a linear storyline with cosmetic variations at some point in the fucking story you will get to a point where you have cascade of variables you have to handle. The segment where Rowan talks with his orc allies alone before the council is set to have like 20 variations: First depending on whether you recruited Ulcro, Batri or Tarish or if you rescued Delane or if you didn't complete orciad at all or if you didn't VISIT orciad at all, then for EACH if you go servant, overload, mitigation or sabotage. Ditto for the goblin segment. There was only one outcome for the goblin storylines, but the segment had lines for not completing the story or not visiting Hoz'holt at all.

I will only ever do it ONCE each act, because of how time consuming it is, but seeing Ulcro talking with Tue-Row? Fucking WORTH IT.

And everyone who says "Dude why do you bother, just move to act 2" - for every person who complains about that, there's another who complains "Damn, you get no choice at all, Rowan just keep on being a bitch ass sissy for the twins." - so it's like, I can't win. I can only do my best and know, that at some point in the future, it will be done.

And it will be worth it.
If you can meet with Side Quests and Railroading
And treat those two impostors just the same;

If you can talk with trolls and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Patreons—nor lose the common touch,

If neither bills nor development hell can hurt you,
If all updates count with you, but none too much;

Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—Alexia will still cuck you, my Hero!

The main issue for some of us - and i'll just talk about how it "feels", not the actual reality of things - is that it does feel like we're stuck in endless patreon filler sidequests. Of course, among others, the goblin content ain't filler, but it can feel that way, when additions happens over now years, and we still ain't moving from the point where we left the main story at.

It also does not help those feelings, when one of the things that could have alleviate them, having alternative routes with Rowan aren't really a thing, yet.
Valid points. I don't really have a good to way to alleviate them, so for the time being I accept I just have to power through the negativity.

On account of this receiving an update I went to look for when I had last played the game. My version is 0.3.03. I think that means I last played it some years ago. Giving a rough look through the changelogs I see the goblin recruitment quest has been added and same for the sacking of Astarte? Probably? So that's it for main quest additions over the years, but you have a lot of misc events thrown in the mix too. That's nice, I suppose. And we're still in chapter 1 out of 3.

The game has had a constant churn of artists and writers over the years and I can promise it will only get worse as the time goes by and people move on to other things. This isn't getting finished at this rate.

But I don't want to seem like a troll so I'll leave a proposition: consider a DLC model. Pick a route, call it main route and ride it to the finish line. Relegate ALL the side shit to DLC. Endless Andr-ass scenes and fetishes and sub factions and alternate routes, EVERYTHING goes to DLC "to be added once the main story is done".

This has multiple benefits: 1) you will be able to show that the game can be finished; 2) players get something to look forward to a la "oh look the dragon DLC is here, now I can replay and do X in a different way"; 3) you minimize the damage from the inevitability that is losing more team members. If you lose some writers/artists, oh well, game's done, only some side content suffers, no big deal.

I mean Rowan is a bitch ass sissy, you guys wrote him that way. And it was you guys who decided to put the main story on hiatus so now people who don't enjoy goblins and Andras NTR are frustrated. If you had decided to continue the main story instead of putting in a hard cut off point you might not have so much negativity surrounding the game.

i've seen some artists say that albeit getting praise for obviously having done good work, said that such praise is still not found in overabundance. like seeing the negativity, as our brain is wired to notice first, one might not get or won't notice the praise that is given.

for that i'll say and i'm sure that most lurkers on this site agree, you are doing a damn good job!
this game is one of the few which have a consistent narrative and workflow every game dev should take a note from it.
i personally would even claim this is one of the top 3 games currently in development on this site!

so yeah, there will be some people who will whine about stuff, but the line "it could be a lot worse" is so much far away from the truth. you are doing exceptionally well!

Why the fuck do saves break every fucking update
a) it was announced ahead of time
b) there was an update to the original release that does NOT break saves (because the improvements that would have broken saves were rolled back)

Also the way they are developing this game, almost everything added is useless on a save that has gotten past a certain point (certainly useless if you've done Astarte). So you pretty much always have to start again. That said, I do see a point in keeping a couple of saves right after Raeve (especially if you are cheating and don't want to go through that again).

Is it just me or the real reason Jezera wanted to forcibly recruit Rowan because she wants to mold him into someone worthy of ruling alongside her?

To recap:
  1. When they talk about demon bastards, according to X'zaeratl for a demon lord and a human to have children they must genuinely love each other. She also comments that the previous half-breed she met before the Twins had a sad and lonely ending, as she never found an equal to share her ambition and stay by her side.
  2. As Arzyl has proven and taken advantage of, Jezera is quite possessive and jealous that Rowan will be taken from her. In this specific scene, Rowan himself also notes that Jezera had been teasing and denying him up until then, but in her eagerness to humiliate and rub in Arzyl's face that he belongs to her, she decided to abandon her strategy because she basically felt threatened of losing him.
  3. In the scene where Jezera teaches him how to dance and etiquette, in a rare moment where he catches her off guard he notices that she seems genuinely happy while they dance, only to revert back to her manipulative and seductive self when she notices him looking at her.
  4. In the Rastadel battle scene, if Rowan is submissive to her, Jezera will say that he is the only man worthy of her and being by her side, and during their sex she comments that for a demon lord to have children they need to love each other and tells him in other words to impregnate her. Assuming this wasn't a tease and she was sincere here, it would strongly imply that she was genuinely in love with him.
  5. Referring to the same Astarte scene where Rowan is not submissive, if he chooses to "praise" Jezera during their sex he tells her that he hates and loves her for pushing him beyond his limits, which surprises and distracts her enough for him to be able to win their sexual battle. I don't think it was a coincidence that Jezera was defeated essentially because Rowan declared his love for her when she wasn't expecting it.
My point is that while Jezera is certainly an evil seductress, dialogue and events in the plot lead me to believe that she actually desires to have someone to be by her side with whom to share her ambition, which is why I assume that behind all the teasing and manipulation she does with Rowan, at some point she chose him as the one who would be worthy of her, hence why she is so seductive and possessive of him.

In other words, Jezera ultimately, and in a delightfully ironic twist, wants to have a sort of healthy romantic relationship with Rowan.

Sure, if Rowan always choses the most positive responses to her, he is on her route and she favors him. Just like every dating sim. Would be weird if he couldn't end up with her, considering that she is either first or second main girl in this game along with Alexia.

Jereza isn't able to love in a healthy way by nature and upbringing. You may go for a vain "I can fix her", but that gets the same result as wooing Andras and trying to fix him. He is the typical bad boy and Jezera is the typical bad girl. If Rowan goes for them, he won't be able to change them, they will change him.
