I'm thinking the death in the hospital happens a few years after the incident as they are in the city. Whether it's El taking her life because the trauma, or maybe just MC's mother, who knows?
I think the same too because in my playthroughs nobody dies, so at the moment nothing explains the traumatic situation the MC is in at the hospital when he meets Julia.

There being a murder at the resort, and this whole situation being traumatic for the MC was mentioned from the very first chapter
That's the problem I mentioned above, in my playthroughs the MC leaves the resort without experiencing any murder, but then 5 years later, when he arrives at the resort with Julia, he mentions kidnapping and murder.

I think I should clarify what exactly I was referring to when I said I was considering a change, in case it wasn't clear.
I was thinking about removing the rape part and just having the girl be beaten up and traumatized, similar to how you suggested, but for the paths that lead to the LI dying, those would remain mostly the same (maybe less focus on showing the bodies and stuff like that). I could also make it easier to achieve an ending that avoids death, but not remove it completely.
And I would personally be perfectly fine with this!

Sylvia only appears for a few seconds in an optional scene in the past timeline
SHIT! Now you have to tell me where and when, that's the kind of little thing I'm always trying to find, and I was wondering if Sylvia was appearing somewhere 3 or 5 years ago.

I've not played all routes, but Paul has died on all the ones I've run so far. The one where he survived had a girl die.

You can see Sylvia talking to Peter in the restaurant when on a date with Susan.

As others have mentioned, Brianna is meant to be a LI in the present timeline and has yet to have her time to shine and properly develop (and isn't old enough to have sex scenes).
Sylvia only appears for a few seconds in an optional scene in the past timeline, but that also doesn't mean she won't have a much bigger role in the present.
Fair enough, but to me it feels like story is getting close to the end so not much time to get many scenes with her, but ofc it depends on how long the story will go on, normaly i would expect game to be done once it hit 1.0 but that could also just mean first season, but this dosent feel like a multiple season type game, could be worng :)

Ill admit i have no clue how old she currently is story wise, but look wise she looks older then alot of girls in other games, that why i was wondering if she was just forgotten and or ignored :)

Chapter 9 will be the end of Part 1. Part 2 will be a separate version focused solely on the present. It will be shorter than the first season, but still be at least 5-6 chapters long.

I wouldn't say it's close to the end. The kidnapper got away and is obviously going to reappear, there are a number of things needing tied up.

Yeah but that could easily be done in in the 0.9 and 1.0 then game over, but happy to hear that wont be the case.

I'll consider editing the scene to make it less brutal. It does start to seem like it's too much for many players.
Before making changes or even remove scenes/events, assess well your audience, usually the ones against certain types of content like violence are the most vocal ones, but that doesn't necessarely mean that they represent the majority of what the users think, it's just the often the ones who are fine with it simply don't say anything. I'm one of them and wanted to let you know, I'm sure there are many others like me that think that bad outcomes (avoidable or not) give depths and stakes to the story, and encourage replayability.

It's a great game, I'm loving it, keep the good work and stay true to what your original vision of the story is :)

Appreciate your opinion as well, and you're right that people who like things as they are tend to be less vocal than the displeased part of the audience. At the same time, many of the complaints were from people who I know have greatly enjoyed my game before, so I can't dismiss their voices entirely.

Still, thank you for your support and letting me know what you think!

I'm waiting until I can get the option not to have a girlfriend at the beginning before I play

because I don't want to be a cheater or an asshole boyfriend and I hate open relationships

but I feel bad that everybody's helping you with their feedback except me

Sorry for not implementing this option yet, I just want to add it along with all the other reworks, and they aren't done yet.

However, I'd like to remind you that players who continue their existing saves till the end of Part 1 will be able to pick if they want Julia to be their girlfriend or friend either at the end of Chapter 9 or at the start of Part 2 (obviously it will be more immersion-breaking than just choosing it at the start of the game, but that will only be available once the entire thing is reworked).

It's a bit of a shame that the situation is what it is, but your feedback will still be just as valuable in Part 2.

I'm late for a party, as always.

Yes, people like "your" story, but if you start changing it all the time, a little bit here, little bit there, it won't be your story anymore. I witnessed few times such situation where Devs tried to cater everyone and eventually games turned into such a mess (mixed variables, inconsistencies, abrupt changes of character acting). And eventually even people who actually liked games - dropped it.
At the end of the day - you can't please everyone.

Sorry, I'm not trying to be bossy here, it's your product of course, so you do as you seem appropriate.

Last but not least, I haven't played last 2 updates I think, but I liked your game a lot.
My personal opinion on the topic - I'd make a censored/blurred version if it really bothers some people that much, players could turn it on/off in the menu and at the beginning, but fully deleting events from a game - that's too much imo.

You're not late, it's only been a couple of days, not enough to change anything yet.

I agree with the main sentiment of your message wholeheartedly, but it's also true that my game is already suffering from some inconsistencies, and having players point them out is very helpful.

It seems that most people will be satisfied with an option to make the content less graphic instead of being removed entirely. And as I mentioned in one of the earlier posts, I do not intend to delete the tragic outcomes entirely.

Thank you for your input!
