Yes, people like "your" story, but if you start changing it all the time, a little bit here, little bit there, it won't be your story anymore. I witnessed few times such situation where Devs tried to cater everyone and eventually games turned into such a mess (mixed variables, inconsistencies, abrupt changes of character acting). And eventually even people who actually liked games - dropped it.
At the end of the day - you can't please everyone.
Sorry, I'm not trying to be bossy here, it's your product of course, so you do as you seem appropriate.
Last but not least, I haven't played last 2 updates I think, but I liked your game a lot.
My personal opinion on the topic - I'd make a censored/blurred version if it really bothers some people that much, players could turn it on/off in the menu and at the beginning, but fully deleting events from a game - that's too much imo.
