I'm going through the previous pages but all I'm seeing is discussion for another game of the same devs. Is this game linked to that? Do I need a save file from that as well to have the overall save data?

Not really mine but I did go back through the pages to find this. Around page 45~50 I think.
When you enter the game, there is a white square in the middle and after a while the game hangs.

I think it's the middle button that should be settings, at the bottom change language to English

Pretty interesting game so far, especially since I'm a fan of judo (and karate).
