My experience with this creator:
I supported this person for 2 years+. And in that time, all his promises never came about, and were seemingly changed suddenly before it's release. $200 of wasted money, supporting someone that can't tell up from down. The only update that he ever put out, was one that had been in that completed state, 1 and half years prior(we know this cuz he had showed us all the completed work in images and content before hand), while he went off on a tangent about creating another game. Invested 6+ months into this new game idea, just to drop it. Then suddenly decide that he wanted to completely revamp this game. So literally over the course of almost 3 years, just about nothing new had been released with this game that wasn't already mostly complete 2 years ago. Now we have this 3d version he's working on, that has completely lost the taste and uniqueness of the original concept. Ya I get it, he is the only person working on this sort of content, so there is going to be some die hard supporters. I was one of them for a time. But you know, as time goes by you become more wise, and you begin to realize whats a lost cause, and what isn't. I've considered this creator as a lost cause, because you simply can't trust his "on a whim" nature.
Yes, I come back every once in a blue moon, with a slight hope that something decent has come from my investment, and that's why I'm here now. But I'd caution any new supporters of him, going forward.

Thats the point of investments, it's a gamble, no one ever said they were guaranteed. You have no one to blame but yourself. People can't go to a casino and demand back the money they lost.

a person or thing that can no longer hope to succeed or be changed for the better

I always hope that people will correct the error of their past, and to one day do what they originally said they were going to do. My investments were based on trusting their word. As Alec is indeed a person, and was publicly proclaiming their plans for the project. Over the course of the 3 years, that trust had been broken several times, diminishing this project greatly to the point of a lost cause, in my eyes. That doesn't mean that person can't over come the conceivable prejudice on them. So, as such I have hope, that they will one day rise above themselves, and hold themselves accountable for what they originally gave their word on? As do I for every person in this world. All the best.
EDIT: I mean, if you saw the casino as being rigged, wouldn't you want to warn others? It's all a matter of perception, one could win big at the casino, another could lose everything. I've chosen to warn others of what they could lose.

regarding the "gamble" theory of one of trolls above, its just Alek's way to cover his own ass to evade any criticism or neccessity to explain himself... for taking money for too long and not delivering for way too long for instance. saying openly that supporting him doesnt guarantee anything is simply exploiting the rules in a shady way, which Ales did in the past, and it was a major red flag. so its your own fault if you re angry, how arrogant. he stretched deadlines way too far and needs to deliver to regain trust.
also about uninteligent trolls it is advised to ignore them and wait until they die out lol. the thing they dont realize is that with stupid argumentation they actually hurt the creators image.

And you don't think wealthy people who invested thousands on a product don't get heartbroken when they see it flop? They do, but they quickly learn, get over it, and don't repeat the same errors. You're no exception no matter how hopefully you remain.
After the first year you should have stopped if you saw no results, stopping doesn't mean its a one-and-done deal, you can resupport whenever you see progress. You exaggerate.
No they should know, if casinos were that easy to get money everyone would be wealthy. Its common sense to know gambling isn't a guarantee, there is an age restriction on it for a reason. If they choose to attend the casino they agree to whatever happens after.
You're also "warning others" on a site where hundreds of games are downloaded for free every day. They already aren't losing anything, they only have to gain. The average person most likely downloads it, plays it, and looks for another, that's it. For the few who do enjoy they can do their own research and see the activity of its development before giving anything, they aren't children to be guiding them by the hand. This site is 18+ they're are legal adults.

No it doesn't, its a game that's under development. Spend on a finished product if you want guarantees. If there is already history of broken promises, all the more reason to be skeptic and leave it alone. It's not arrogance, it's just you being naive.

That's the thing. NOBODY KNOWS, we have 0 idea, 0 information and even when we get a deadline or new version release date. It gets delayed 2-3 times and then a lot of the promised content is cut or changed to something completely different...
