On the changelog for 2.03 it shows there is an optional NTR scene for Emily that i guess isn't in the "canonical position" does that mean the dev plans to change how it fits into the story at a later time?
I believe it means the scene will be given more context, with more buildup for Emily's retaliation, as well as a follow-up, as the scene currently "happens out of nowhere" and ends with a cliffhanger.

Why is this game so bad, why is its progress so slow, we already had a much better first game, this is supposed to be the continuation and they should make more scenes, like with Emily who only had 2 sex scenes in the previous game, but this is as if they wanted to make the game again as a remake, it doesn't advance anything in the story or in scenes, it's a disappointment, and it takes a long time to release updates, what a bad development, at this point the MC should have sex here and there
I completely disagree. This is not just stupid porn, like grab a napkin and go... This is a work of art. If you just need stupid fucking, there are such sites, but the point of SexBot is that it is a whole story. Do you really have no respect for the author? I am also for harem scenes, vaginal, let it be here and there, but everything has its time. In real life, before fucking a girl, you need to warm her up, offer her a drink, take her somewhere. So here, the author gradually leads you to this, you need to wait in anticipation. The author skillfully maintains the tension. Meiko in the first part did not give it to anyone at all. In this one, she starts to act. The protagonist's friend starts sharing a girl, which means hot mmf scenes are possible in the future. With the ability to deal with a friend's sexbot 1 on 1. We still don't know so much history, the game is only in development, and you are already whining that everything is bad. I am not an ardent fan, I just appreciate art. This is the very option when only a blind person will not see a great game, a good project. The new game showed new models. Girls from the first part, who actually had sex after the 7th day - now there is sex much earlier. Excellent animation. And I really do not like inattentive people who speak before they think ... Read carefully above - the game is in beta. This means that the author can add the same vaginal at least 1 option for each girl, he can add a harem, maybe futa, maybe ntr, we don't know anything yet. It's like a trial version. But if you are such a genius, ok, present us your version of the game, show the project, maybe you have your own developments that will help the author ?! And I can criticize, pour shit, and anyone can.

Actually, my general response to Recalibrated is more in line with that of the guy you are responding too. But I think I can better explain where I'm coming from. Let me start by directly addressing one of your points:

"In real life, before fucking a girl, you need to warm her up, offer her a drink, take her somewhere. So here, the author gradually leads you to this, you need to wait in anticipation. The author skillfully maintains the tension."

True, and I think adult games are better when they have a sort of buildup. And Sexbot I handled the buildup very well and in very fun ways. But we're in the series' second installment, and now the game's relationships are in some weird limbo state, its "soft reset." Yeah, the girls are more open and attracted to the MC right away, but a lot of the scenes have been groping/teasing, with no solid narrative context to give them much weight. Mostly, the sex scenes are just random; they don't really feed into some overarching narrative.

More simply put, we've already gone through the grind of relationship building in the first game, and in the second game, those relationships have been pulled back when it was, arguably, not necessary in the slightest.

In general, I think there's a problem down the line in adult games based on relationship building, toward their conclusions: boredom. Guys like variety. That is, once all the walls between the MC and the main love interests are broken through, there are so many sex scenes a dev can have between the MC and the love interests before everything turns stale. Then a dev either has to make a new game--or find a way to reinvent the characters. Llama chose the latter option--but I think he did so too soon.

That is, by the end of Sexbot I, I felt like the game's relationships were all in a great sweet spot, somewhere where the game could really go off the rails in myriad ways. The narrative was in a sweet spot as well, to support new developing branches of these relationships. Narratively speaking, the MC had finally had a significant revelation about abusing time travel--that it would literally cause some kind of apocalypse, and with this kind of revelation, it's so profound that it should alter the gameplay and relationships from then on.

But rather than shift the narrative from focusing on the MC recruiting a date for the prom to instead having him address this major revelation . . . I guess we're back to focusing on the prom.

In other words, Recalibrated is a soft reset of the same formula Llama followed in Sexbot I. The dev decided to backtrack and reuse that formula when it was time for the game to spread its wings beyond its basic gameplay loop. Had it been my game, I would have left off using the Sexbot I's gameplay loop, its focus on the prom, and moved on to something else, some new type of loop. I would have the MC fully remember the catastrophic revelation at the end of Sexbot I and immediately have him work toward fixing it. I would definitely not have settled on this soft reset of the relationships; instead, I would have kept the relationship statuses as they were and found ways narratively to stress those built relationships--rather than be lazy and wipe their memories. That is how narrative tension could have been maintained--but it would have taken more creative effort.

A few other peeps have pushed back on me and said, "Hey, the game is in it's early stages. Let him cook!" But now I don't think that's a solid excuse. Again, this is the game's second installment. He could have hit the ground running if he had followed any of the suggestions I just listed, and thereby prevented the game's limbo state.

Instead of going full steam ahead, the game has backtracked. That is why some people, like me, find it kind of stale. That being said, I think Llama is extremely talented, and in fact, I won't be surprised if down the line some narrative twist is so good that it makes me sit back and say, "Okay, I get it. This is awesome and makes the reset worthwhile." I won't be surprised if the people who said to just chill end up being right.

Fair enough. As I ended my post, I said I won't be surprised if I'm proven wrong. But I have no idea what you intend, only the current gameplay and creative choices to go off.

With your first game, I actually learned not to trust first impressions at all. At the beginning, I thought I was just playing a fun, light-hearted, sexy visual novel—nothing more, just good vibes. But you totally took me by surprise with that final part, especially the intense, emotional sex scene between Alexa and the MC. The drama and sadness that followed really hit me. That’s when I realized I had been completely fooled—in a good way. Everything suddenly became so much clearer, and I immediately got attached to the characters.

Honestly, that moment blew me away. I was genuinely moved, and right after finishing, I bought the game on Steam without a second thought. So for this sequel, I totally trust you. I know better than to judge too soon—can’t wait to see where you take things next!

So are you genuinely enjoying the soft reset of the relationships/story, or are you sitting around like "Hey, this is all kind of whatever--but I know he'll deliver eventually!" Because you say you've learned to not trust first impressions . . . In other words, I'm wondering what your first impressions are of Recalibrated.

Not expecting a twist. Just recognizing when a story’s still building its foundation.
In the first game, everything screamed light-hearted sex comedy—and then in the final part, the tone shifted completely. Suddenly it was serious, even tragic. And somehow, a love story between a robot and a human felt genuine and emotional.

That’s when I knew the author had full control over where he was taking us.

So no, I’m not here judging a beta. I’ve seen what he can do.
It’d be arrogant to pretend I can evaluate a story that isn’t finished. I’m just letting it breathe.
