When you pay off the debt can depend upon luck so every game will not be the same. A good example is if you get lucky and scavenge an A or S skill combat trained bot who can escort you to the night school. You gain social skill much faster if this happens.

Time isn't what you should worry about, your skills and how easily you make money are much more important. If I ever change anything it will be based upon circumstance rather than time.
As someone who had this scenario already twice, I can tell you with certainty the best approach, just train with that bot until you hit high combat (B or A) and sell it right away. You get huge injection of income + you can train bots into combat when that social training event triggers.

It is really weird how fast you can hit high combat skill training with just one bot in a few days, compared to the boxing and the neighborhood event.

I think you shouldn't find high combat/social trained bots in the dump, I know anyone can change it easily from the files. Or maybe you can't train from bots but the code to learn from bots is probably from the base DSCS.

I just started playing hardcore recently, had two runs back to back, vanilla SR24 (14.0) with just BGM mod and like you said, if you get unlucky, just stall with the loan and you grind your way into a good run. Maybe this is a good game design decision, I really don't know much about the nuance of good game design.

All that aside, I really really think it would be fun to implement a power system, like parts consume power and a power core provides power. Probably base power from the bot itself too. Or maybe power core reduces stability decrease from work. Just floating ideas (y)

Thanks for an interesting read and the idea. Having a power system has been suggested before and it's a good idea. I considered it but at the time I wasn't a good enough programmer to make such a large and complex addition. This would need to be planned out because if it's done poorly the game could become much harder. I considered a rule where bots needed to spend one turn each day in a capsule recharging but decided against it for the same reason. Bottom line, while I like the idea I am unwilling to put the necessary time into it. As I've said before, my "to do" list is long and I'm very reluctant to make it longer. Sorry.

Stop excusing yourself for not picking up every good suggestion people have. Even though you just took over an abandoned game you are still more reliable in dropping updates than >90% of devs here. In addition bug fixes come quick, if bugs occur. Being focused on the things that matter is way more important than adding a lot of nice gimmicks to the game. Many devs get lost in all the gimmicks and never mangage to finish anything, while you have a pretty clear scope of the project. Keep on the good work and enjoy my first comment on this site in 5+ years. <3

Edit: Just noticed im on here closer to 10 years and you are still the first one worthy of posting something here^^

Thanks for a very nice post, greatly appreciated. This has been a fun experience for me.

There are a lot of abandoned games and I've been disappointed that some of my favorites are never finished. There are many reasons this happens and I'm doing my best to prevent this from happening to SR24. Cheers!

Hey TBH, I wouldn't even complain (or even comment) about anything I like or dislike if I didn't thought it was going to have some sort of feedback.

Sometimes I may be negative, but all aspects I didn't mention? They're pretty good!

Just new to this game, but so far it is addicting... until this.

Just curious, on Mob Protection quest, what happen if you do not follow the suggestion of making higher-class bot from what the mob requested? Has anyone tried it?

I already gave my B+ Bot following this quest, and this time the same quest appears again, with MC still making the same perception. I mean... I don't follow the logic of making same perception knowing previously it has failed... unless there is something else unfolding that I don't know yet.

Any comment is welcomed!

You probably did not follow ALL of the suggestions; B+ bot with A+ parts, A+ sex AND A+ social skill.

Did you use the test button? If the test button says the bot is made correctly AND you give it to them when they are requesting a SEX trained bot you have done what you need to do. Keep playing until the next Friday night. If the mob asks for another bot then you made the bot wrong. If you made it correctly they will not ask for another bot.

If you never give them a correctly made bot you will not be able to advance in the game and if you don't keep giving them the bots they ask for you will reach a "game over" event.

That is exactly what happen if you do not follow the suggestion. The Mob Bot quest will continue to happen, and the suggestion will still be there. If you did follow the suggestion, something will happen on the next Mob Bot day.

When I opened my save again, guess what...?
you guys are correct... I did everything but forgot to swap one of the bot's part with A grade.. must have been my oversight.

Hi squirrel24,
Sorry I never knew about "test" button. When the Mobs arrive, there is only one button, which is "Give them #1" below the narration.

Can you point out where the location of the button you're referring to?

I don't have a save at the correct spot; but before the mob shows up (not after they've shown up) you have a button toward the bottom right of the buttons that is basically "Check Mob Bot" (something like that) to see if you have a bot ready that will qualify (For the entire week you're getting the bot ready).

For the special bot, you have a second button for "Check Sabotage Bot" or something like that as well as the regular "Check Mob Bot" button (so you can see which you can do).
