Interesting game concept and shows promise, but I would like to say that I personally think its way to short to have published it.
I know its a 'tutorial build' but I would have expected more than 5 mins of content. Like enough to atleast see the reprocussions of one of your actions.

What is there is good however, and I do hope you stick at it. I have seen to many good concepts die before they even began to know the warning signs. Although, I hope I am wrong.

Notes on the Demo:

Password as mentioned is not as intuative as it seems (and honestly the discount for the doggy funeral seems too unrealistic with' MOOSEDEATHDAY' code being just morbid). Depending how you want to take this, I think that a simple walkthough wouldn't be the best solution. If you are building a game that you need to follow a guide, then its not a good game. Not to say don't make a walthough (they can be useful for players to better understand your game) but don't rely on it. What you could do is make it more clear what is the important part of the emails and don't add too many red herrings. What you could do to change this is to change the first email from kathyto include the 2019 more natually.

I'm digging the concept here, Smurg. Big fan of html games and the writing already has me wondering what the fuck is going on (specifically Dawn) Good thing I'm not a hacker with secret tech. I'm too curious and horny for that kind of power.

Yeah, I 100% get the frustration. I’ll probably add a walkthrough behind some sort of additional code or something ASAP bc I still want people to read the traffic and emails and stuff since it has important story elements and other things. Nothing too crazy of course, just like a lil quiz about what was in the emails.
No worries. Like, I get it. It's not like it was incredibly difficult. But I'm just here to jerk off, I don't need dazzling puzzle games. Maybe you could even just add a Bypass option after so many failed attempts, so those that do want that can still spend the time doing it but those that don't can just move past?

I thought the MOOSEDEATHDAY discount code thing was actually funny. I don't usually laugh during porn games, but I legit chuckled at that.

I mean, Fair do's. I personally like dark humour but I just found it to break immersion when a game doesn't take itself seriously.

You changed the name, good. Now keep working on this. You have a rare concept here.

Really enjoyed the premise. I had trouble with the password too. Personally, if you change the hint you get after the first wrong guess to say "a name and year" instead of "a name and date", that would have been a better hint as I found the date but couldn't figure out the right format without the walkthru.

Solid concept with solid early execution.

I don't normally find myself earmarking HTML games but this one of the handful I'll be watching.

Hopefully this one does not end up like most HTML projects. I'm wishing you the best in your endeavors.

I usually play Ren'py/Unreal/Unity games but this story is intriguing...
Following, good luck!

Hello everyone!

TL;DR: Should I release half of each chapter (quicker) or the entire chapter (slower)?; No stats for good, bad, or morality of your character, will be affection, domination, and submission stats for the girls; Choices are very very important and will affect your playthroughs greatly; I'll change the name again (maybe) LOL; There will be one overarching job and mini jobs within each chapter; Also added more porn LOL. Currenting building the prologue chapter.

I'm not sure if this is where I should post status updates, but I'll just do this for now! Hopefully it doesn't get lost in the swarm!

I just wanted to thank everyone for their kind advice and critiques. Like I said, this is the first game I've ever made, so I appreciate all the comments and likes! It motivates me to keep moving forward. I just wanted to make this post to address a few questions and comments.

RELEASES: I am currently writing and creating the Prologue Build for the game, which is just the further introduction of the world, characters, choices, and consequences of your choices. However, I do want to ask if you guys want releases of full chapters or half of each chapter? Half of each chapter will be quicker but of course will have less as opposed to full chapter releases. I'm almost halfway done with the Prologue build, so I'll be making a poll asking what y'all want.

STATS: People were asking about morality and other stats. I don't want to spoil too much or sound like a pretentious douchebag, but a major theme in this game is the concept of grey morality. No choices in this game are considered black or white, they just are choices with consequences, so there won't be stats representing how evil or good your character is. It's up to you to make that decision. However, there will be stats regarding the relationships you have with other characters, especially the girl characters. The three major ones are submission, domination, and affection: how submissive you are to them, how dominating you are over them, and how affectionate you are over them. These WILL have numbers related to them. But do know that your relationship with one girl may have an affect on other girls.

CHOICES: I put a major emphasis on choices in this game. Every, and I mean every, choice you make will have a consequence, big or small. I worry about making a walkthrough this early for choices since I don't want to spoil too much. Anyways, choices are important! You can see the choices you make on the UI bar and choices specific to characters too. Also, just a hint - a choice you made in the early tutorial build will have a BIG effect on the first chapter of the game.

THE NAME: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. error is about as bad as .exe. Don't worry, I'll be changing it. Someone in the comments (I'll shout them out later) said a really good name that I will be adopting. But I promise the name will change LOLOL.

JOBS: To answer someone's questions, there will be an overarching job within each chapter and smaller jobs you can do throughout the game. However, the game is very linear - I find open world HTML games to be clicking simulators and very boring if there's not much to do. There won't be much freedom with the jobs you want to pick, but the choices you make will have an effect on which of, say, 3 jobs you'll be able to take or do. Most of the hacking jobs will take the form of INCUBUS, but with slight variations based on the story.

And for the people who just want to jack off - don't worry, I've added more porn to the next version LOLOL don't worry, you'll get your fill.

Thank you everyone again and I hope you have a great day.

I got a code on the "under 18" button at the start (I sometimes click that to see what it does)...but it doesn't seem to do anything? Tried entering it at the passcode screen to Cathy's computer, but got nothing. Where do I put that in, and what does it do?

LOL, nothing yet, just a little easter egg, but you’ll see later on in the next couple releases.

I like the concept. It reminds me of Hacknet but with porn, and I'm all for it.

One suggestion I have is changing the password to get into the system to something more player friendly like a series of "Forgot your password?" questions instead. That way, it's easier for players to enter the right answer instead of knowing the answer and having to fiddle around with its many possible combinations.

Another suggestion I have is to implement something like an "email keyword search" feature to find new emails that you don't start with to spice up password searching. One problem that the current system has is that it's a bit too easy since you have all the answers to the password immediately at your disposal. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing if you're goal is to make a simple game that you can tell your story through, but if you do want to make more complex / interesting puzzles, it'll be slightly harder to do so.

Here's a theoretical example of both the suggestions at work:
You first get to hacking and Incubus tells you that it can find out the password if you manage to complete the "Forgot your password?" questions (Something about how despite everyone upping their online security, there are still plenty of people bad / forgetful with tech or something). You check the question and it says: "What's the name of your most recent pet?". You go through the recent emails and find the email from the pet store talking about how they're having a sale for owners with recently deceased pets, however it doesn't mention the pet's name. So, you type the pet store's name into Incubus' email keyword search engine and it finds a new potential email where the pet store references Moose's name while trying to spam sell Cathy something.

This would all take a lot more time, effort, and maybe even redesign though which you might not even want or need in your game. So hey, you do you. These are just suggestions from a passing stranger, and I hope the development goes well regardless!
