When it comes to working on machines, including cars, you don't get nearly that greasy, unless you're a beginner. MC and Jane looked like they lost a fight with a grease gun -- badly. Yeah, you'll get *some* grease or oil on your hands, but there's stuff like Lava Soap (pumice-based soap), shop rags, and similar stuff to keep your hands clean. Clean hands allow you to properly manipulate tools and parts.
I mean, if you're going for excessive drama by smearing grease everywhere (and Jane does look good all lubed up), then sure, but just keep in mind that real mechanics rarely get all that greasy.
