Hello again, this time I mentioned you and I'm sorry for the previous translation, no one warned or said anything that another MTL was going to be made suddenly, well, there is a game that they updated about 2 months ago, they made an MTL but they added a new one with more content and it is outdated, in addition to tremendously poor quality mtl , so if you could make your own of the game https://f95zone.to/threads/netoraseki-roku-shirosaki-junkoi-final-rain-shelter-frog.163902/

I'll take a look, but just to make some enemy first. (JK why would he read a post here.)
The Uploader who made that thread posted this to complain about the OP of the Translation-Request thread, even though it's quite a bit better than most around here (he should have just used a story spoiler):

Then made the game thread, but couldn't be arsed to look what game version he actually has and just called it "Final".

(I know most Uploaders do that, but I'm still annoyed every time. The concept of "Final" in general is really stupid, because we've seen devs seemingly out of nowhere release patches years later. So unless the dev is literally dead, it should never be used.)

Whether you accept it, the request has been two months and there is no news of anything, it is outdated, does not have much visualization, the thread I have sent you the final version, thanks for your time, it is not a long game, so I don't think it has many problems if you decide to do one of your translations and I know it's another strange request but I'm grateful.

I'm not sure how you define a "long" game. This has roughly 500k characters of text. That's certainly not short.
I'm getting a bunch of errors so this might take a while, but I'm already working on it.

Fun Fact: "Final" = We don't know what the version is, or are too lazy to actually look it up. For most uploaders it is #2. :ROFLMAO:

I've mentioned why I will not be working with ChatGPT before, but that post is buried in this thread by now, so I've added a spoiler note to the translation list post and the how to request post now.

(Just so I'm not asked again why I am not using that "better" MTL method.)

The GPT-4 32k model is better for certain slangs and old phrases.
Sugoi actually fails completely for some writing styles. It then reads like some out of body fever dream with japanese written in latin mixed in. I've reduced that a lot with my dictionary system, but I still have to admit that SLR's translation quality is worse.
(But certainly not $25+ per translation worse.)

Have you evaluated the quality of GPT-3.5 translations? Granted you're using a good system prompt it might be worthwhile to check given the price difference.

I'd be more annoyed about its content policy, outright refusing certain requests for translation. There's really no way to avoid it. You will be forced to check the prompt using the /moderations endpoint before sending it to /chat/completions, unless you want to skip that and get your account restricted in case of too many violations.

I have not run any serious tests with that one, but it doesn't really matter in this context, because the overall point is that it makes no sense for me to make translations meant for hopeless games premium.
If people would be willing to pay me for a translation, the translation effort for that game is not hopeless.
And I have exactly 1 member on BuyMeACoffee giving me €4 a month, so it's not like I could sustain this with voluntary donations either.

As it stands right now I will keep this up for free using my SLR system, and I will try to further improve SLR, until my processing rig breaks and then I will probably just move on to something else. (But I would try to recover and publish all my scripts and stuff here in case someone else finds them useful.)

Because while I can afford to fully mount current costs myself, I could not justify buying a new GPU given my current financial situation.
I just had a bunch of random rigs, because I've worked for a company that modernized one of their locations and literally threw their old rigs into the trash. (And I just took them, because nobody told me I'm not allowed to do so. :WeSmart:)
