The link don't work for me,
Please, can you send me a new link where I can see the development diarys?
Or somebody who read this?
Yiif party has been down lately. There're shutting down rumors so... not looking good tbh

Not rumors, they did shut down :(

But the good news is, these websites often revive out of nowhere. Ex: 123movies also shut down "permanently," and was re-incarnated as as Gomovies.

So hopefully, yiff.party will re-incarnated :)

Development Diary #61 / Discord launch

Finally! All the art stuff of the update is done! So we've already started building it. This update needed some extra days than usual, we know, but the update required a good amount of new stuff and we think that it was worth it.

Anyway, here it is the complete changelog of the update v0.16 of Shuggerlain

-Plot and stuff for the new nation: Yalen

-1 Event with 2 possible H-scenes

- Added camp mechanics*

- New army battle

- New sex battle (11 new animations and some more to come)

-Added remaining animations for Misha sex battle (4 new animations)

-Added 1 new girl: Luth

-First date available for Nadine (new H-scene)

-First date available for Saraith (new H-scene)

-First date available for Luth (new H-scene)

-Battle UI has been improved

-Added Credits

From now on the camp will be sort of Space Paws' spaceship. You'll be able to rest (pass days), visit girls in their tents, talk with soldiers, decide which country you'll keep advancing to and unlocking some events. Now there also are action points, 4 for each day and these actions points will also indicate the day time/ night time. We think this system will work pretty well with the incoming stuff to come :)

We'll also wanted to add the Gallery for this update, but we've rathered focus on more important stuff and not delaying more the release of the update. So as the previous update, if there's something you like, save there. Soon we'll add the gallery .

After the prologues, with this update, we feel that Shuggerlain is starting to be the game we wanted to create and we're excited with its development. Hope you are happy as well after playing this update.

On a side note, all our patrons can also join now to our Discord server :D

We think that this is a good place to talk about the game, helping other players and create a community.

Yay for another game from Taifun! The wait for the full version is gonna be worth it, Space Paws was fantastic and this is shaping up to be even better!

That being said seeing possible scope of this game and the amount of possible scenes (Sex-battles each having multiple scenes, normal sex scenes which there are 3 by the time of prologue), I hope they hired more people, cause it's gonna be a lot of work to do.

Ah, yes. My new favorite game...aside from the other half a dozen games here.
In fact, it is the time to check whose Patreon money shall be lowered so I can pledge someone new next month.

I have problems playing though Space Paws, don't get me wrong, it is a fine game and all...except you, yes, yourself.
Space Paws has a protag that fits like a crowbar shove into someone's ass.
(If you think he is fine, good for you. Glad you can enjoy something I can't.)

So far, this game is fine enough.
But the one small not so complaint I have is so far the story is breakneck speed when it comes to plot development, like everything happens way too fast even by modern day standard.
Not to mention they are in a fantasy medieval setting, things should be slower...nah, they two bone the second night they meet.
Hey, I am not complaining. This is an adult game, the faster that happens the better. But non-porn wise, this plot still goes by bullet speed...I really wonder why?

A less (or more depending on your perspective) writer can make a whole book base on the plot of this prologue, with ten times the text and probably sex scene.
Again I am not complaining (except I sort of still am), is it just me, or everything just happen way too fast?

Ok. I understand you and I have two questions:
1. Would you have sex with a stranger if someone's life depended on it?
2. are you Ready to read huge blocks of text for half an hour, on which nothing depends and which in General do not really affect and need the game?

1. Depends on if the other party is of my sexual orientation, and if they have any serious STD or not.
Also, I am not complaining about how sex happens way too fast, this is a porn game, I get it.
Just everything else plot-wise also happens at breakneck speed.

2. Yes, but that doesn't mean I like it.
I always expect that shit exists every time I launch a Ren'Py game...so it is surprising when it doesn't.
But I just can't help but feel this game go in the opposite direction way too much.

But hey, I will rather take this type of narrating over what you said "read huge blocks of text for half an hour, on which nothing depends and which in General do not really affect and need the game"
Is just I feel weird about this narrative speed, and that's it.

Hmm. I See.
In fact, you do not mind that the first sex of the Hero was immediately and you understand that too much text would be superfluous.
It's good.
You see, if you remember that we see this game in the build stages, then all the text that is in the game will be read by us hundreds of times. We can actually write it ourselves at the end of the game creation ;)
Therefore, understanding that blocks of text, even if it is added at the beginning, will be mostly squandered on the machine, I do not see a problem in the insufficient description.
I'd rather see a problem if they don't tell us what happens at the end.

As for the speed of narration, for example, I don't see anything strange. Can you tell us more about what's bothering you?

It is very nice that this game is written in RenPy. So it is possible to view the source code and the variables. Which makes me very happy. Now I have a question about three variables whose meaning I don't understand: fever, unitChosen and Misha Attack. Does anyone know what these variables do?

I think I understand what you mean.
When I read the prologue... I felt like I was watching a movie: happenings, battle, choices, music, sex yeah and feels.
I think that speed, or better said, that lack of superfluous narration, catches your attention and makes you want to keep reading instead of type ctrl and going to the most interesting part.
I know it could feel odd especially if you're a usual VN player, but to me, that's something really good.

You sound like a part of the dev team...wait are you?

Basically, what this person has said:

While they think this really good, I feel odd about the whole lack of a superfluous narrative thing, like fewer details and events happening at a certain time gap, it gives me a "wait, did I miss something?" vibe.
I didn't. I know, but still.

Like when our protagonists settle in the forest, I remember it goes like this: Wake up, then it is evening in the next cut, then the important event involving a Damon happens.

But hey, don't let some rando online discourage you (if you are a part of the dev team).
This rando likes the game afterall.

No, I'm not part of the developers. I just try on my feeling of the game and feel that what I saw is much better than the large walls of text that I have to squander after 4 passing the game.
To be honest, here rather (for me personally) the main factor was "creating the game with me". I have to read the same text many times, and so a very quick start is more of a big plus than a minus.
But this is my personal opinion.
