I'm fairly sure they have something to do with those hosting sites, and that allows them to pledge to the tiers that gets these game the fastest, hence their speed.

Wondered why I hadnt seen anything new about this game on the update page in a while. Pretty sad to see that its going through the "we finally got to good content and don't want to progress to finish because then I as a dev would have to make a new game with new ideas and content so I am going to make an excuse to release the same updates but slightly better". Love this site.

You're entitled to your opinion of course and I honestly doubt what I am about to write is gonna sway this opinion but I'll give it a try nonetheless.
This is in no way intended as a 'milking exercise' (I know you didn't use those specific words but you hinted at it, so that is that ...) which btw wouldn't make that much sense tbh seeing as we have less than a hundred Patrons (I wish we had...).
Rather Boring Games has gotten new hardware (that is something he promised he would do provided the first Patreon threshold was met) and the new renders DO show the new capabilities. He will be able to enlighten you as to specifics (new render times as opposed to prior requirements and such) but how about you give it a try and then come back and tell us about it?
Not wanting to be snarky - just the opposite - but rather interested what you'd think. Either d'l the version currently available on here (ep. 6) or wait for the latest version to become available - it has the reworked ep. 1 and that is simply gorgeous visually. Editing-wise it's not perfect as I am currently somewhat suffering from writer's block so didn't edit this one but again - it's the renders, animations and visuals that take up the majority of the time.

Ok I get what you mean, I am not saying the new renders dont look better and the game hasnt gotten a fresh thing of paint, however its super annoying to have to wait a good while to catch up. No matter how much better the new look of the games ui and renders look, I have already played through that stuff and want to get to the next part. Its like if you were watching a movie that ends on a cliffhanger and the directer decides to remake the first movie instead of making the next one because they have new ideas and tech. That would never happen because people loose interest. Don't get me wrong I am exited to see the new stuff implemented for the next episode but going to back through is just not interesting to me even if some of the plot has been changed. I would have much rather the dev use the new renders going forward instead of retroing back so we can get new stuff. Well thats what "Ocean" did in his game it is called "Where it all Began" He improved the game renders and animation in a new level in ver 0.6 though the 0.1 to 0.5 is also good but the 0.6 is in another level.
Well people have their own ways. Boring games intend to remake all the ep up to the latest. While Ocean plans to just go all the way with his new improve renders and animation.

I like Star Wars best when it's not a "Special Edition". I mean, this game had a following for a reason. Hope we can move the story forward, i always get nervous when a remaster happens because cancellation follows sometimes. I don't want to say goodbye to these girls, so I wish for the best.

It's a make-over of the prologue / episode 1 to the standard first established w/ ep. 6. Has also been extended w/ add'l renders and animations.
Episodes 2 through 5 to follow.
