Hey there, been playing this game for long time ago, but every time, after i paused then resuming playing this game through like 6-7 months pause, I keep having save issue :

When I hit "continue" on the main menu, and after not playing for a long time like 6 7 months as i said, it loads a save as if it was a new game, instead of my previous save with all achievements, endings, etc.

I have no clue why. I use the adobe flash player 32 application to launch the SWF Simply Mindy file, if it can helps.

Your user data has been wiped. Save the #SharedObjects folder so you don't lose it: https://f95zone.to/threads/simply-mindy-v3-6-0-sexums.1817/post-10221336.

The issue is that, even though my user data has been wiped, i still can see my old saves in the #SharedObjects folder.

So in your opinion, i backup the #SharedObjects folder, and whenever my user data is wiped again, i deleted everything in the current #SharedObjects folder and replace it with the #SharedObjects folder i backed up ?

I've kept my run going by making a copy of the main folder after playing and then using the backup folder if the main folder fails to continue from where I left off. Copy and replace (although if, say, a cleaner app deletes your cache, there should be no files to replace). I always keep two versions in case one corrupts or there's a bug.

If you see data files in the main #SharedObjects folder but can't continue your run, then it's not the right data. Could be the files were recreated when you launched the game or it's the data of another game/app, for example.

I see, thank you for your input. Will do that. So basically you save the main #SharedObjects whole folder after every game sessions as a backup in case it fails to continue ? Or do you back up less frequently ?

You're welcome!

I have automatic file backups running daily (which saved my ass the first time, thanks Macrium Reflect), but I do make manual backups as well. You can make a shortcut in the game's folder for quick access, for example, makes it a breeze to find and copy the files.

One last dumb question, you back up the whole #SharedObjects ? Or the whole main game file ?

I copy the #SharedObjects folder, yes. Spares me having to think about what's in there. I forget what it even looks like inside, since Flash hasn't been a part of general computing for years.

Corrupt files maybe? I would redownload the game and purge my cache just in case, if you're starting from nothing anyway.

Are you running native on Windows with the Adobe standalone player?

Okay, that sounds like Windows with the standalone Flash player.

In Windows, navigate to %appdata% (enter that in Windows Explorer's address bar) and then go to Macromedia → Flash Player → #SharedObjects. That's where your persistent files are cached. I suggest making a copy of the folder and then deleting it so you remove everything to do with the Flash Player user data wise.

If you later realise that you were playing other Flash games and need their user data back, you can find it in the copied folder.
