Well what I was trying to say is 0.2 is just the intro of this game, is "serious" as in, its not stuff I will delete completely nor anything like that, although yeah for the most part is for people to see what the game is about, characters and mechanics.

The pics are from another demo that is no more. I still have all the assets and actually all the code is still there, just not being used for now. I will reuse that relatively soon (well, the art assets at least)

In general the idea is the corruption of these characters, although it will be decided for you. I.e. in this demo your choices could start influencing if Terah, the daughter, starts to awaken her lesbianism/bisexualism and interest in Joshua, Ben starts to think about Magda, and she (Magda) can starts to get corrupted, if veeery slowly for now since she is still in shock

I, myself, think it could be more interesting, then if we just stuck with one character.

But this I stard hate this change. This story are planned to be Story of female when we started to play to it. you will follow mainly the story of Magda. In the future and according to your choices, you may "break up" with your whole family, at that point she'll be the only prot

the husband is the only "non protagonist" of the group, he never has inner dialogues nor he will be the main focus

The constant shift in perspectives is actually kind of annoying in this game and is part of the reason the set-up is so unbearably tedious and long-winded. The Dev just appears overly aggressive in just about every aspect of the game including ad nausea explanations of everyone's personal perspectives and motives.

I also don't like the son and daughter essentially being forced into an incestuous relationship with the mother and father respectively. Don't get me wrong. I don't mind incest. I would just prefer to choose to do so or not. The story is certainly not reliant on the incestuous relationships. If it were mainly an incest game, it would be one thing. But, the set-up certainly doesn't scream incest.

For instance, when the son is offered a "feeling" perspective about his mom early on it sounded like he was being offered a choice to pursue incest or not, it was ultimately a false choice. I had decided to make the son not want an incestuous relationship with his mother, but no the choice was merely "lying to his friends." I was OK with him voting in favor of the Referendum even if he chose not to desire his mom. The game is also setting up the son for a forced NTR situation, and through the obvious overused trope of the ONLY black classmate . . . cause you know that's the way NTR is supposed to happen.

I am totally down with corrupting the mother and cuckolding the husband. That's why I downloaded the game. Everything else feels like a distraction.

They don't have anything forced, they have feeling at the beggining... which give you choices to either develop those feelings or not, depending if you like them or not. So yes the incest route is actually optional, I've mentioned here and there that actually, there will be a "split" route where you just ditch them all and go live by yourself (As Magda), a route which would likely make her the sole protagonist in that route.

Those choices do have an impact actually, because you have a stat that tracks this (how incestous a character can be), and it will have an impact later one, is just during this early phase he is confused and struggling with the basics of it, I don't think thats particularly bad, I didn't just wanted to make it a "is or is not" case

Her dougther make her visit, or call for homwork, for make them best friend, as a mother as bestfriend. Terah can tell wath her dad do with money. OK, that was confusing then. Because I chose the non-incest emotional response for the son and he kept talking about his mom as if there was a developing incestuous relationship. It was confusing. His response was basically the "gross, she's my mom." It felt out of character to say that to his friends--unless he was lying to them--and then express feelings that sounded incestuous. If that was a real choice you need to rewrite his dialogue so it's more consistent. I had assumed my choice was just irrelevant.

Also, cut out about half of the dialogue boxes. You spend way too much exposition on the referendum. I mean seriously. Why have all the content about the mother and father not voting if their votes didn't really matter? I know the official results weren't announced, but it'll be weak storytelling if they did matter. Seriously. The story has more heft to it if it wasn't close. Because a close vote is ultimately not what this game is about . . . unless it's to manufacture unnecessary conflict between the husband and wife.

I want to like this game. I especially want to like the incest storyline. But... I just can't. The father is a man child who pitches temper tantrums when things don't go his way and blames everyone around him for everything wrong in his life (and never himself). And the mother is a neurotic idiot who enables her husband's bad behavior by making endless excuses for him or just blatantly engaging in self delusion. It wasn't a big problem before the reboot but the wife's self delusions and the husband's petulance and pettiness has been turned up to 11 in this one... to the point it's hard for me to ignore it.

Normally, just a hint of an incest story line has me hard as diamonds. But this time? It makes me uncomfortable. I mean... the idea of the daughter and father getting together just seems like something concerning rather than sexy. It's like if you had a porn story where one character is a naive young adult woman and the other was Hannibal Lector. That's not sexy. That's not even a little sexy. And I feel pretty much the same way about the son and mother. Or even the other way around. I mean put the brother and sister together? Hot damn! But include the parents and it's just... really concerning.

It probably doesn't help that this hits really close to home for me. These two fuckups pretty much are my parents. And to give you an idea just how not fun my childhood was... I started hiding knives under my mattress when I was 11. I did not feel safe in my own bedroom... never mind the rest of the house. That my father never actually threw a punch at me didn't change that. And having to listen to my mom ask the shrink to up my dosage cause "he and his dad just butt heads sometimes" was a low point that repeated every few months.

So yeah, so far it's really hard for me to enjoy this game. Can someone tell me if the parents redeem themselves eventually? Is there a way for the wife to kick the husband to the curb and still start something with her son and daughter? At the very least is there a way to open up the incest path and keep the daughter away from the father?

I am certain you have never known anyone who works in a center helping women who come from abusive relationships, but this shit is mild to how real life can go, specially in rural areas. There are cases of women literally still bleeding defending their husbands from the police, that shit is crazy, and this is not over the top in the slightest.

Also I am not sure if you played 0.2a or not but we already toned down a lot of his dialogues, and tbh I wont go and tone it down even more.

Maybe is just my perspective since I actually live in one of the most conservative states of my country, and one of the ones who have a lot of troubles with family violence, but thinking this is "up to 11" is just ignorant at least about how the world can be.

Heck you say I "tone it up to 11" then you literally say how this is happening in your real life, which believe me I know it sucks and I'm sorry for that, but you can see this shit is realistic, not nice maybe, but not ludicrous.

I am not painting this as fun, nor I depict it as such, maybe the problem is not that its ludicrous or cartoony but that's too real, cus you can look around and most games are reapy as fuck, and as abusive as they can get, but since they write the woman and everyone as cheerful and happy about it, its easier to gloss over it, but to me that fakeness is a lil bit of a turn off

Also I already mentioned Joshua isnt a protagonist, thats because I dont want the family to necesarily stick to him, but to get away. Ben hates him, Magda overtime will grow distrust and hate him unless he really meaningfully changes, and since he is only nice to Terah, is not weird that she looks up to him, because he has always been nice and appreciative to her
