Probably not, the 1st game was good, but the second one aims to become even better.
There's not much of a story - warrior nun sent to stop big evil, fights through levels (random porn and disturbing death scenes).....the demo of the 2nd game seems to have more of story than the entire 1st game.....
But the gameplay of 1st game was good, varied enemies, bosses, locations, scenes.....play both if you have time......
Because some of the most memorable H games have excellent stories - Fate Stay Night, Monster Girl Quest, Black Souls series, Ideology in Friction.....you kinda skip the H content for everything else.....
Why are people coming to H games but not care about story? If you just wanna fap then watch some porn instead.

In my experience, most h-games either have a good story, good porn, or good gameplay. I can count games that have 2 on one hand, and I don't think that I've seen all three on anything.
Tbh, I thought the Mission Mermaiden series had good story, porn, and gameplay, though your mileage may vary...

Some games are really good both in terms of plot and content, and some have only beautiful art and animations. If r34 does not help, people ask for 100% save. I think so
A lot JRPG H game have good story, gameplay, quality. When I said good mean it's acceptable, not like you can demand a perfect game in a H game (which focus more in sexual), even AAA games (which cost pretty much to develop) hardy have all 3 so what you expect in H game?
Game like AGA (Illusion), Biko (Illusion), DesBlood4 (Illusion), Eden (Forst)...have decent story, decent gameplay, decent quality (compare to H games in their era). Succubus Quest (RPG Maker), Life of Spirit (RPG Maker) Erotical Night (Flash), Seiren Harp (RPG Maker), Artemis Pearl (Wolf), they're all game that worth to play, and they're likely only 1% good game I ever played but my tiny brain can't remember all titles to tell.

I feel Sinisistar didn't need any dialogue to tell a good story. Not when it already had one based purely on Rabiane's travels through the corrupted realm. It's kinda like LIMBO. Not an ounce of dialogue there either but it told a great story anyway.
I mean, I don't know about you guys, but sometimes I feel less is more. If it can spur on my imagination, I'm happy.

You're probably looking for the term "environmental storytelling", maybe toss some "silent protagonist" in there as well. If Sinisistar 2 could nail the atmosphere as well as the 1st then we could very well go that way again

Alas, given what we've seen so far in the demo, this doesn't seem the case. That said, the dialogue remains minimal so it doesn't interfere too much with our imaginations. But yeah, thanks! For some reason the term I was looking for eluded me, haha.
Yep, the first time I was surprised by this kind of game was Splatter School, with me invested in losing to unlock scenes but also beating the game due to being hard but fun. It gave me enough clues about the plot without a single word of dialogue, and I could use the simple description from the developers as a basis to make my own interpretation. Lo and behold, Sinisistar did even better with less items and lower quality (pixels) but a great soundtrack and good progression of stages and story. The game forced me to pay attention to the environment and repeat a lot stages to find out what I was doing wrong. I am a fan of dark gothic erotica, and Sinisitar had the correct balance of erotica and gorn without going over the top with the latter.
The thing is, you can make plataform games with little regard to plot held by the looks of the heroine and the gallery (Night of Revenge) or you can do immersion correctly and offer porn while reminding the player they are in a journey. I like simple hentai games with my favorite tags, but I genuilly enjoyed what Sinisistar 1 and 2 have done for the whole experience.
