The Sanguinemods guy had been banned on nexus and posted here under a bunch of different aliases, the writing was on the wall.
Speaking of fringe modding sites, does anyone have an account on drownedmods? Is it worth it or don't bother?

Ill never understand this tearing people down just to tear them down. He saw a problem and made the solution which is more than what you or I are willing to do. But Im sure you never used the site to download anything because it was below you.
I don't think it's just to tear down people. Let's be real here, we don't know what going on the mind of the person who made the site. You could be right that he/she was only trying to solve a problem, or maybe he/she wanted to take an opportunity to make some money.
Just because some one tries to do some thing doesn't mean we have to praise them. If there was more thought put into the site, like they wanted it to be long term sure. However when I personally looked at the site It wasn't the case (in my opinion).

In the end sure it was a tool. A tool that unfortunately wasn't up to snuff.

Does anyone have Kirax’s commission armors? Like the new Slayer Set one. $75 isn’t for just anyone.

Patreon:
I really want to get some of those too and I know about another user who was looking for people interested in sharing a Vault pass (https://f95zone.to/threads/skyrim-patreon-mods.23840/post-18207973). I already sent them a message about it and the forum doesn't let me add you to the conversation but if you want to join in it'd be great since the more we are, the less expensive it would be for everyone :)

It doesnt matter why or what his motivations were. None of that mattered. The people of this forum benefited from it while it was here and that is all that matters. It didnt matter if the site was bad. If that was the price you paid for free paid mods. So be it. Nothing is free and nothing is perfect. I dont understand why people dont get that. Complain about it all you like but it was a lot better than your website.

so did anyone save any of those mods from that sanguine site?
I did! not all of them unfortunately, but I can add those I have in a mega folder and send the link via dm (I don't want my archive accounts to end up being taken down lol)

It's mostly outfits, some followers, animation packs and a few schaken mods but yeah, it's not all of it only what I installed on my Skyrim

Yes it does matter but the fact is we don't know his motivations. Could be malicious, such collecting your data for spam or otherwise.
The quality of the site can be improved but the starting point can be a sign of what the site's creator goal/plan.
Your right nothing is fully free, you have to pay for it in someway, be it money or time(pay for mods or wait indefinately till someone shares it.)
I think people get that there's always some draw back, hell people here were fine and happy with the site existing, but they also pointed out the way the site creator was handling things were not great. Why can't you get that?
For one I don't have a site, I wouldn't do so anyways since that's commitment that I can't properly accept. If it were up to me I'd just have post here that I update when I can with more up-to-date versions of most frequently asked mods.

The person who created the site had a goal. That goal could be reached in multiple of ways. Choosing to make a site was a choice. People are free to criticize that choice. The Site Creator also disappearing without mentioning why is also a choice. One that paints this situation in a negative light.

I will say your comment those feel very "toxic positive", I'm sure that's not your goal and your only trying to be understanding of the site creator. If all you are asking for is the people who use it to show alittle gratitude then understandable. The Site creator did give a service. But they can also voice their opinion on how bad it went.

This will be the last post I'll make on the topic, hence why it's longer. I do hope you have a good day.

It's not worth it. There are very few people there, and they mainly share things that were taken from here (Dint's hairstyles, old Lilyrim mods, Kirax, and so on). There's nothing new there that isn't here.

that's exactly what I plan on doing! I'm filling up all the folders with the files I have right now, and will send a list of what authors/mods I've covered. If anyone wants to help me out in this archive creation thing and happens to have any mods from Sanguinemods you're very welcome to dm me the name, I'll check if I already have it and in case add it to the archive :)

My customized version of [Dint999] BDOR Hairs SSE updated to v0.23.
The changes compared to the original:
  • BSA packaged and plugin cleaned of unneeded entries/converted to EspL.
  • Hairstyles as object (wigs) removed, leaving only those selectables via Racemenu. -Ampharry Crown, Magnolia Helm amd Stenshi Wimple removed too-
  • Removed unneeded meshes and textures.
(y) Gofile ->
(y) Akira Box ->

Note: same file, but different interpretation of the file size by the server (I don't know why).

Hi Tamiel
Thanks for the reply
Your Doing great work in the right spirit of things, some might think its crazy that we become so worked up about mods
but in a way its a small part of a Bastien of Life ever changing, Its not just about free stuff
But the principals behind it all, That gaming in general now has changed so much since the mega corps
reached in with there profit before substance, and how much can we wring out of gamers for this skin or upgrade
lastly You Dont even get a real copy of the game you paid for not like back in the day.
Phew I was only going to thank you
Sorry went off on one.

No worries, I totally get what you mean I feel the same way! What pisses me off the most about paywalled mods and paid DLCs in general is exactly that...they add so little and ask for so much money in return. Like, modders such as Kirax literally have a shop where they sell ports for over $50, or TalesofStar with subscription tiers going past $100. I wouldn’t mind paying for a big quest mod or a proper custom commission, but charging that much for a simple outfit port from another game and the fact that such people consider us thieves when they aren't any better is just ridiculous :ROFLMAO:

why do you even remove the wigs? if you dont like them just dont use.
Me I dont use them (because I always play as male) and even dont use them on NPCs but they are useful because of their armor addon that I use in the bodyskin of NPCs.
I build NPCs using bald hair (Redguard Hair 03) then I add the HDT ArmorAA of the wigs in the bodyskin of the NPC.

Dont see usefulness of BSA packages either.

I have a pretty sizable collection on Mega as well i can link you and we can combine our assets, i do UBE conversions for armor sets so most of em are armor but i snagged some custom races as well as well as many of Beo’s releases.

So download and use the original mod then, which was shared twice in previous pages.
BSA files use 7z compression, so can help with storage for large modlists. Mine is close to 1TB even though all textures are on BSA files and I don't store download archives on the same drive.
BSA files also bypass all of the usual file access background processes associated with Windows, so in some instances can help reducing micro-stuttering, although this in particular is more useful for Fallout 4.
