Approaching the end? Did the developer post saying so or something? Because it's only version 0.47 right now. Usually that means we still have a lot left to come before the end.

On the last page, yes, the dev did say the game was nearing its end. This is update 48, they are planning to conclude it with 50/51.
However, I believe they've also previously noted a sequel will be made & they already have ideas in order for it.

Personally that is my main issue yes. That and continuously adding Stukov content. Which is sad, because the dev is definitely talented in terms of art. But I would much rather have the "human" Sarah over the transformed one with the flashlight nipples. It simply lost her feminine and cute appeal.
And yes, I like corruption, specially mentality, but while the "body programming" scenes and etc were nice, the change was too overboard. I understand the dev wanted to be faithful to the original game, she was transformed after all, still her "human" figure was much cuter than the transformed one.
Maybe in the future there's an additional route without transformation, besides the uterus to conceive, who knows. But at this point I expect they continue to add Stukov content unfortuntely.
I don't want to be perceived as a dick to the dev, because they are definitely comunicative with the fans, but unfortunely I can't say I'm not frustrated. I even thought to support the project monetarily, but the direction of the project made me think otherwise. But maybe the current supporters prefer this way, I have no idea.
Still, thanks to the dev for the update.

I haven't been following development that closely, so just to clarify: there are no plans to continue development on either the Abathur or Lizzara routes that were planned in previous versions?

Good to see they're not cancelled. For sure take a break after completing the QoB route and stretch your creative juices by working on other projects!
