Agreed, the old art was considerably better. This looks like generic mobile game art stuff.

I've been skeptical of Darot since the Nutaku incident. And it looks like they sorta just gave up on brothel city rather than finishing the campaign in a meaningful way. But I do really like the way brothel city plays so I'll keep an eye on this one.
