It's not that the demo should be long, a simple and decent demo should be like 5 to 10 min gameplay, the thing is that this has been 4 years in the making and still doesn't have something like that, it's astonishing, and now frost getting mad to fans who are disappointed with how terrible things have been managed, it's like a bad joke.either the Demo is 10 hours long or they'll have a huge mess in their hand.

Obviously a crowd funded game of this sort with a team working on it should have some sort of demo available so people know what they are backing. That said, no devs complete games up to the standards of this one in six months. There's plenty of things to complain about with regards to the game's development, but that's not one of them. Just getting and making sure all the voice acting and art is consistent would likely take that long, and most of that can't be worked on until the script is finalized."planned for this year" is something you say in late november, not july. Its a renpy game, not a billion dollar movie, it doesn't take months, much less years lmao. These devs have so carefully curated this idea that a basic script and a model with a handful of facial expressions is some massive undertaking, while praying you don't notice that other devs complete whole games in 6 months. Silly.
Not being developed in renpy, they're using godot, they wanted to make 3D rooms, and unless you can interact with those 3d enviroments and have some sort of minigames, and isn't just a plain scenario for a sprite to stand there, it will be fucking pointless. I would agree with you if it was renpy that this project shouldn't take more than 2 years with a team of writers and artist."planned for this year" is something you say in late november, not july. Its a renpy game...
You got quite the whole main problems there lol, but yeah, the amount of stuff that were handled so poorly in this game it's astonishing, like driving without wheels. I will always blame Cypress for this mess, since he's the one that made all the wrong choices till the final one of handling the project to Critical Bliss, the last nail for the coffin.Obviously a crowd funded game of this sort with a team working on it should have some sort of demo available so people know what they are backing. Complain that instead of moving on to the next game cypress decided to fiddle with the first parts of the game again. Complain that he got so obsessed with releasing something worthy of the Asian eroge market that the entire completed game started getting remade from the ground up. Complain that that remake seems likely to have been scrapped and restarted at least once while it was in development. Complain about the "questionable" monetization decision where it took a long time for people who bought Snow Daze to find out that instead of the game getting some final polishing after release, they would need to pay extra for the remake if they wanted to own the fully 100% complete official final version of Snow Daze. There's also a bunch of less directly related things including cypress stepping away from things or getting permabanned from discord to complain about. It's a target rich environment.
I'd totally forgotten about the 3D rooms. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if there was never a concrete plan for them. My post was initially going to be me saying that six month was a completely unreasonable expectation for completing anything other than the most bare bones of a game*. I ended up going slightly off track. Not being developed in renpy, they're using godot, they wanted to make 3D rooms, and unless you can interact with those 3d enviroments and have some sort of minigames, and isn't just a plain scenario for a sprite to stand there, it will be fucking pointless. Have you never seen a game announced? "Planned for this year" is not something that should ever be said in a game release announcement after June, but usually isn't said in any announcements after around March or April. If someone is making a game release announcement less than six months out that doesn't have a date in it, it won't be coming out when they say it will. If someone is saying "planned for this year" in November, that's effectively saying it won't be coming out until at least next year. That would basically be the beginning of a release delay apology, probably due to some very late stage, very serious fuck up by a core dev"planned for this year" is something you say in late november, not july. "Publisher reassigned everyone to NTRA+" isn't as catchy of a tagline"planned for this year" is something you say in late november, not july.
