I remember coming here last year after being April fooled by f96

So I’m now met with two realizations

1 holy fuck it’s been a year already

2 absolutely nothing has changed here at all.

Snow daze fans don’t have to wait for April to be the fool do they! Hahahahahahahahahahahahhahahhahah

Ha

Anyone have the 1.4 (or earlier) version of the game. I’d like to compare the old art for posterity.

Look at this fucking disaster lmao View attachment 4721699
"We need the have a demo out this year, and he has agreed"...

Let me do a reeanactment of the convo:
-"Hey, people are calling us scammers"
-"So i've heard."
-"What do we tell'em?"
-"tell em the Demo is coming"
-"When?"
-"I dunno, tell them 'this year', this gives us twelve months."
-"to bring in the Demo?"
-"to stall and make people believe we are actually working on the demo until they forget we said this."

Seriously, at this point, if the Demo is not 5x times the size of the original game I don't think they can justify much.

A normal demo would 5 min gameplay, still if that demo doesn't show something pretty awesome and innovative compared to the first game, well, they're fucked since it will be another mid ass visual novel.

Also, when this shitshow is finished, if it does, they'll have to drop the price to no more than $10 and I'm being generous after all the bullshit it went through. If it's more than that, I'll buy it and spread the game, for cracking if needed, for everyone, because they deserve to be pirated.

Zeta is a kind soul. Please have faith in him to deliver the game and demo soon. He is one of the best ever. Even if he can't get all the pieces to the game,, he will work on a different one with redheads. So don't crap on the snow daze team, they're good people. I don't care if you pirate the game, but consider offering your support if you can. I mean it's a good game I believe.

Long Rant incoming

Look, I'd normally agree, bacause Zeta's track record on paper was good: several games finished, among them Overwhored, one of the first big nsfw indie games, the original snow daze, a pretty good visual novel, and kissing therapy, a full game developed on the side...

BUT

they have not developed or even shown anything worth-while in like six years, there is only some loose sketch artworks, weird stalling announcements, a strange focus on having the VAs of Snow Daze do stuff not-related to the development of the remake, Frost himself not being that involved in the development and instead giving it to another team that have been several YEARS promising a demo without release, and ignoring any kind of comment asking about how the development is going other than 'coming soon, trust'.

The first Snow Daze saw it's first alpha on 2016, with the FULL game coming out less than two years after, with continuous releases and updates. If memory serves Redaze has been 5 years into development, 0 demos, 0 new note-worthy content, barely updates on what even will be new, only occasional mention that the VAs are doing stuff... it is taking more time to bring in a single demo than to make the original full game, unless Redaze is supposed to be like ten times the length of the original I don't get what's taking this long other than the new team is not working.

And this is not me being impatient, this is not the first game I have to wait more than half a decade to play, main example: Quest Failed 2 by Frostworks, another multiple-choice voiced visual novel, only that one began production in 2018... differences? well, 1. That one has a playable DEMO. 2. Frost Is very active on Discord and patreon and offers updates for the development, so far he assured this summer the main story is done, over 35 scenes in the game (as per last summer announcement on patreon), and he is doing the side-quests, and the patreons DO get the alpha releases and testing, he just doesn't want those to the public because he wants only Demo and full release. 3. he offers stuff on the patreon like written side-stories or fun scenarios and art with the characters from that game. 4. Has apologized several times on how late the game has been because he admits he completely miscalculated the time it would get for him to do what he wants to do. and 5. he actually is only one person working on it, he doesn't have a team beyond the VAs and Artists, he is the sole programmer and writer.

Is it possible he is stalling? maybe, but i am willing to trust Frost because things do seem to constantly be moving, even if dreadfully slow.

ReDaze tho? i've seen NOTHING move for the past several years other than empty promises or other projects.

For what Poli wrote here and on the steam forums, i really can't see zeta as someone "kind" but more like a moron. Also, you can't trust anyone or anything in this project, it's all a smoke screen, and the only ones that knows whats happening are Frost, Cypresszeta and critical bliss and none of then will share shit, hell, I'm not even sure if they know what's going on with the project.

Whatever project with this system 90% of the time works with kickstarter, not this monthly support platform. Subscriberstar, patreon, etc, are made to show progress and that's what they are not doing while getting money.
