So why are there no Star Trek games (and why so little Star Wars)

I've wondered the same, ST is so filled with boring dystopian repressed bullshit I'd go.mental from boredom and get sent to a reeducation camp inside of a week rather than choke to death on mayonnaise and vanilla. So corruption games in particular would be a great fit.

I don't have the skills but always saw the "Enterprise" setting as a perfect setting for a game, given the smoking hot Vulcan and the corruption possibilities using Pon Farr... my idea, which I'm hesitant to share but given the fact I'll never act on it... was: A Transporter accident swaps good Archer with mirror Archer, who, realizing he cant get back to his universe he plots to corrupt the crew to begin his own empire, starting of course with T'pol and Hoshi. He enlists the doctor using techniques he learned to manipulate denobulans (promising many concubines) who then begins creating artificial hormones and pheromones which can be used to slutify/ bimbofy the girls.
Not gonna lie, that's sounds like a game I'd play. Cheeziness aside, sounds pretty interesting if executed properly.

Never thought about this myself, but maybe its an asset problem ? I mean there are quite a couple of sci-fi space based VN, but maybe the fact that those fanbases are incredibly protective of their property kinda scares devs ? I mean if they get one detail wrong on a star destroyer, or use a different ship that isnt a tie-fighter for an imperial stromtrooper, the fanbase might rain hell on the dev...

Hell Harry Potter has seen more parody games, though my favorite currently is Wands and Witches, as the other two or three are either too early in development, or just lack sex scenes despite how far into the game it already is...

For sci-fi there have been quite a few great games, but most are always abandoned, or relatively new, or the updates are on a long cycle... some notable ones

Infinity(Abandoned) - it was awesome !
Forgotten Paradise(Abandoned) - it was better than the game the dev replaced it with
Starship Inana(Ongoing) - Great game, but gets updated every 3 months or so
Captain Lance(Ongoing) - lots of promise but just started, currently at v0.2
Ass Effect(Completed) - Mass Effect parody game...
Lust Affect(Completed) - Slightly better Mass Effect parody game
Heavy Five(Ongoing) - Only on Ch2 as well, but seems interesting too.

I would actually love to make a star trek game.

Creating a whole new story but based on the lore. The wars could be so fun to make and to add all kinds of unique characters. And, of course, having the iconic characters appear and be of special use for the mc. And a must- an optional path which takes you to the dark side. Which is the right side. Only side!

But already on a project that I am loving. So hopefully a new dev out there would go for it. Definitely an audience for such games.

Such a game should also include 7 of 9... you know, 'cuz of the skin tight suit!

7of9.jpg

Putting Jolene Blaylock in a skin tight suit for Enterprise was no accident, that was a conscious decision by the showrunners to attract horny males to the show. After all it worked for 7 of 9.

tpol_large.jpg

The Enterprise writers seemed to like showing off Jolene's body whenever they could find a good excuse!

With the original ST, they made sure to put the ladies in short skirts. And Grace Lee Whitney/Yeoman Rand's outfit was tailored to enhance her assets, well at least as much as 60's tv censors would allow.

Also, there were some pretty risque outfits in the original ST, well for the time anyways....

Also, sort of related, but Gamesters of Triskellion fans (i.e. Angelique Pettyjohn) :

Milf fans might like the 25 minute mark of this porn video from 1982... keep in mind she's around 40 in this vid.

Anyways, I'm getting off mark... this need to tittilate the male audience has been propagated in later iterations of Star Trek.

Case in point: Illya in ST:TMP. Deltans are hot!

Not the best picture, but note the heels...

I'm not up on my TNG, but I'm sure there's some sexy scenes there too. Plus Picard shirtless for the gals. But the blatant skin tight stuff started with Voyager I think... Dax and Kira's uniforms from DS9 were at least mostly similar to their male counterparts.

As for JJ Trek, yeah I just don't care. They did put Uhura in the miniskirt again though.

Anyways, we need both T'Pol and 7 of 9 in this game you are proposing, as they are the stuff of a number of male fantasies... it's a time travel thing or something, yeah that'll work! And Hoshi too of course! I suppose you could throw Belana in, for the bondage angle or something...

Jolene Blaylock is what ya get when you put fake tits on a 2x4.
Also, why am I thinking about that Barclay episode where he is introduced and he's hanging out on the holodeck beating up his male crewmates and hitting on the ladies?

I think that protected properties like SW or ST wouldn't survive long if a Patreon site for them would be created. It's pretty much copyright infringement as soon as you make even 1$ per month off something even loosely based on either of those franchises - not sure about that, just my guess.
It depends, because there are laws that also allow for Parody, in many locations... It really boils down to how similar the two products are... If it is a loose comparison while poking fun, it could fall under the freedom of speech laws, depending on location... If it is far too similar in comparison, without adding in the Parody elements well, then there might be legal issues to contend with, especially if money was made... There is a fine line to walk...

You don't see comedians who poke fun at SW and ST, and then getting sued... Just look at Saturday Night Live, and how many times they've poked fun at Star Trek, without getting sued over it... You just have to know how far is too far...

I would totally love that. As mentioned before, I'm an artist, although I draw pretty stylised.
If somebody is out there who could code and love ST, would be a dream team. Probably will never happen though, considering all the factors. Still, nice to think perhaps one day :)

In defense of the Original Star Trek Series... Their wardrobe budget was like 5 to 10 bucks for an episode (if not less), and it was the 60's right around the time of the sexual revolution taking hold... Plus, there is a tendency by movie studios to be a bit sexist and go with the sex sells attitude for some women characters... Just look at most shows back then all the way until today... Star Trek was not unique on that front, when it came to stantily clothed women in the movies and on TV...

I was actually running around with that idea for a while now to create a Star Trek / Orville type game where you explore a different planet with every new update with each a unique short storyline and different protagonists like it's done in those series... but a lot more perverted. ;)

Now if I only had the patience to properly learn what's needed to make it... and wasn't so lazy...
Most, if not all, of the Sci-Fi themed erotic/adult VN/Games I've seen and/or played in the last few years have been mediocre to complete crap... Especially when they incorporated planet to planet content... Usually the stories are rushed, the story telling is poor quality (or an afterthought), and/or the vn/game is more a poorly crafted porn fest... Typically any attempt at humor is childish and not funny to anyone outside of the developer and a few fans... That has been my experience as a whole thus far... I've seen a tiny few that were alright, but most of them have been a waste of my time overall...

It's just not a Genre that is done often or done well, when it comes to Erotic/Adult VN/Games...

Has anybody played Star Trek Bridge Commander?

That is very similar to what would be like me dream VN to make. First person view as a captain of a Federation starship set in the time after the Nemesis that would be all about the story and decisions.

I recommend checking Heavy Five out. It's my Number One of all the adult games in terms of writing, choices and consequences, and character depth.:)

I think the dev would have too have a really good mind for Sci-Fi for it too work otherwise you could end up with something awful like Nemesis or the Last Jedi. Also I'm not too sure how much copyright would ever come into it probably get a few angry emails from Disney. And like it's been said the fanbase especially of these two they are pretty hardcore especially when it comes to details.

But I would love too see some sort of pardoy perhaps Captain Kirk and his harem of other Star Trek women with a cheesy alien fight scene where he has too protect his crew of women.

Nemesis was a masterpiece compared to The Last Jedi.

I think most developers want to make they're on IPs. It gives more creativity freedom and why not, more freedom in what assets to use.

There's loooots of Star Trek porn (art, comics) already and some are quite good, but with game development, that is hundreds and hundreds hours of development, dev need really to know if is what he wants to do.

Also, if he wants or needs to monetize it in order to justifify the hours, Star Trek is QUITE dangerous right now, as ST fans will know. (it doesn't need to be porn right now, you are not allowed to do almost nothing with Star Trek). The way is Orville-like, just make something in the style of Explorer-diplomatic ship finding new races to fuck.

For me I quite know a StarTrek-like project it's one of the 3-4 ideas I have for the next game I'll do, (love star trek, Space Quest...) but first I have to finish the current one (so its gonna wait at least 2 years)

FUCK yes, thank you. I couldn't for the life of me remember the name of the one good Star Trek game in the last two/three decades and it had been driving me nuts.
