So why are there no Star Trek games (and why so little Star Wars)

OK OK fine the Voyager game was pretty good too.

Let me say it another way: if all the Star Trek games were the balls in a ballpit, the good ones would be ones that some infection-spewing child HADN'T slobbered or sneezed or puked on.

They all look pretty accurate except for Uhura who looks nothing like Zoe Saldana at all. Clearly racism at work.
I downloaded the model to see if it was a bad pic.
and then I googled promo shots from the movie.... every shot of her online in character is taken in bad lighting. racism indeed

I think the model is still worse than the others, but that looks a lot more like her. But on second look some of the other models are also not that great. It seems Kirk and Spock got way more work than everybody else because somebody wanted to make his Kirk/Spock porn.

needs a little adjusting, but it's not too bad that it can't be fixed

On the list of SciFi games I would include "Abandoned: A Tale of Forgotten Lives" by @Kerni . It is a Unity game with a 3D android development base to wander around in and a couple of sex droids to play with.

Let's just take a look at the ol' AIF Newsletter list of games, shall we? (link: ). I'd recommend looking from oldest to newest, btw, since there's definitely been a lull in Trek-based porn games in the 2000s.

That's sixteen Star Trek games you can play for free. Granted they're text, and span about ten years, and require various interpreters and an understanding of the English language, but it seems like (and I happen to think this is silly because Enterprise kicked ass) people just haven't really given much of a shit about Star Trek for the last twenty years or so. Not that the aptly-named STD has given people much reason to change their minds...

The new space station currently under construction, would be a good setting for a game.

I like my reference better. Though the ship was probably also named after him.
Still... killer AI. I'm not visiting there!
The space station's killer A.I. was borrowed from HAL9000 in the 1968 movie 2001: A Space Odyssey
IBM was founded by a ruthless gangster named Watson.
HAL-IBM ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOP....

keeping with tradition all space station A.I. should be watched closely.
