It's not really about that.
I kind of criticized him publicly on his Patreon about the development and how I, personally, was losing interest in the game, forgetting key plot points, and how I had no time to replay it again just to catch up before the new chapter and he actually addressed it with a few additions and points about why it actually takes him this long.
So, it's not only the coding thing, there are many reasons for that.

What you wrote to dev is exactly where I am, so I appreciate your comment here with dev's response to it. I'll see what happens when the update eventually drops, but at the moment I just don't have the enthusiasm for it (not helped by being really busy with work lately, so having less time for games generally).
I get how things may get out of hand, especially if one's not a total master of one's craft, but this is seriously getting ridiculous. I mean, first it was 3 months, then it became 6 months, now it's pushing a year! And I honestly love this story. And this isn't about being impatient or inconsiderate. People will abandon a game if they don't get regular, decent updates. And then there won't be enough demand to continue developing it altogether.
Honestly, STWA's been F'ing up more and more. Inspirational story, good game, hideous updating.

I am 99.9% sure I've read the Manwha that Amrit and Ines are "watching" with MC. That aside, Elspeth best girl, I am bias though with her being Scottish.

Haha, I had the same reaction. It's a pretty great read too, one of my favorites. I wouldn't be shocked if they made a PG kdrama out of it at some point.
Also Team Els. I love Vi, and dominating Ines is fun but Els is going to have be my canon ship. They just go so well together. Fingers crossed the thrupple with be Els and Vi. That'd be my happy ending.

There's actually two throuples planned. They haven't confirmed who's in them, but my money is on Ines+Amrit and Vi+Els.
We've been through this so many times, and we all have our theories on it. I don't think Els will be in any kind of throuples. She literally said it herself that she isn't going to share him once they go stable. My bet is Amrit+Ines and Amrit+Kana. Though, I wouldn't be surprised if one of those throuples is Vi+Ines, because Ines already wanted in "if Vi gets MC".

On the other hand, last update Els got some of her first "interestedingirls" points on some paths, both in relation to Vi. You are right though that we'll have to wait to see. It'll be interesting to see what new clues come next update.

Just make the game a harem. If we're going for "realistic", that ship sailed when 9+ gorgeous women all fell in love with the same guy. None of them are jealous of him sleeping around at this point. All of the woman are close to each other in some capacity.
The easiest solution is to make the game a harem. It'll be even more ridiculous if after he chooses his main LI, that the other women want to continue to have anything to do with the MC. And some of them are very closely tied to the MC.

This dev has been reminding everyone to just keep replaying the game and have that updated 'save file' since like one year. Dude, we got it already. You haven't even released any update for like 2 years; no update have been in sight. First, get your act together and get the development back on track before worrying about something like this.

Hello my beautiful people Merry Christmas Eve, or possibly day to those who celebrate I hope you're staying warm, and having a nice time with family or friends or hell just by your lonesome if you're a solitary soul. Apologies on my tardiness, I wanted to work through the weekend and see where I was before I posted. No Holiday render today, both systems are rendering and I figured update work was more important than holiday renders.
So brass tax lets jump in. I was aiming for release on Monday the 29th initially, a fine send off to the year. I didn't have as productive middle of the month as I was aiming for, so at the current moment I estimate that I'm about 6ish days behind where I was hoping to be at this point. Obviously that would then put release around the 5th of January or so. However I charged for this month, and I said I would get you something this month. So here's what I'm thinking.
Most of the work that needs to be fixed is in the final 2-3 scenes (depending on how you break them up) which gives me a majority of the update just sort of sitting here. So while I don't like the idea of doing it I think that I should release that as a sort of "Part One". Folks who've been around a while no I don't like idea of doing half chapters. I try to have a sort of pace and theme to each release that I think is stronger consumed in one sitting. But I'm considering this as a special occasion. You guys have extended a tremendous amount of grace to me during this overly long dev cycle so i think it's only fair to try and reward that at least a little. If I hadn't charged for the month I'd just take the extra week and release, but such is life. The alternative would be pausing for January even with the release, but with the troubles a not insignificant amount of Patrons were having accessing stuff while I was paused I worry that folks wouldn't be able to access the update which I think would be just as annoying as the wait.
So I have a few animation rerenders and general UI and sound design stuff I have to finish up for release. That'll probably take the rest of the week/weekend. I'll check in again on Monday the 29th and let you know where we're at.
For the numbers folks, or those just curious the "Part One" release would have about 4600 renders and 26 animations at the sort of stopping point. I wager it'll be about a week to finish up what I need and complete the SOB with the rest , another 900-1200 renders depending on how these final fixes work out and an additional 12-16 animations so in total we'll be at around 5500 stills and 40ish anims.
Final call that you need to have a transferable save from either the most current Patreon or Steam editions of Book One to be able to start with Book Two so sneak them in while you can.
Anyway, it's almost a holiday and you folks have real shit to get to. I'm going to get back to work here. Hope you all have a lovely rest of your holiday week. Take care of yourselves and as always thank you for the support.

Seems kinda silly. I appreciate the honesty and what they're trying to do, but I'm not going to whip through part one in an evening then wait a week to see the last ten minutes. I'll just end up waiting until the entire thing is released.
I remember how i thought back in february "hmmm the update should be there soon" which probably was my fault.
Whats this bullshit compromise about part 1 and 2 tho, patreons would still have to sub for january too if the want the full version with his idea. I dont think it is intended to be, but it IS scummy as hell even if he did not intended it lol.
He should just give everyone who messages him a refund, doubt it would be this much people anyway (i figure most subs are fine subbing one month more) but at least it would be a clean and honest process and give the few who are annoyed about it a solution (even if they dont use this solution).
I had a really good impression of this dev but it kinda got destroyed during this year entirely

Would like to say i am shocked that the update is not coming out this year but no other devs take notes on what not to do this one has gone from a great one to trash all for steam well done.
