Using derogatory terms as kink titles may trigger some people and turn them off of the game.
The terms that might work for BDSM enthusiasts won't necessarily work for everyone
They will trigger BDSM enthusiasts as well. It really is just the only proper term here. There is stuff like daddy/boy but they come with trappings that don't always apply such as the dominant exclusively wanting what is best for the boy at most times.
I have seen people online who have no issue with pseudo-rape but a massive issue with the word.
Reading this back I came off a little judgemental.
Yup, but it warranted and valid.
I didn't think he was meaning "top" and "bottom" in the form of giving or recieving penetration, but in the form of BDSM dominantion or submission.
Yeah, but we already have accurate words there and it's a bit of a sticking point for some people.
Alpha boys being the bottoms with omega boys being the tops
Alternate suggestion: How about we have 'Man's Man' for submissive and 'Man Control' for the dominant? I did make up those terms. Here's the thing with those 2 words... (TL;DR at the end) they are a kink trope from fan fiction that will have the following (Alphas and Omegas are likely to involve: werewolves, knotting (how dogs and the like have sex), animal ears, a very specific dominance split "20% of the population are "Alphas", 70% are "Beta" and 10% are "Omega""
Alphas (m/f, m/m) usually mean 'those men who impregnate', and they likely have a buttload of pheromones to command, sometimes it means a monthly state of hyper-aggression, perversion, and sickness over being denied. Alphas usually have Adonis body types.
Omegas: (exclusively m/m) Male pregnancy abound! May come with self-lubrication, expectations with these are the romantic trope of soulmates, become nearly immobile monthly from too strong of a desire to 'mate'. Unlike rules in the categories above, there is very little wiggle room in removing any of these qualities from an Omega.
TL;DR
You wanna avoid Alpha and Omega if you don't engage with some of their trappings unless you want to deal with impregnation. Because that is the kink they embody. I'd suggest taking up a new term or a combination of terms instead.
