A good game does not have to have good graphics, sound or writing. You can make a game with a primitive/retro style of graphics and it will still be a great game. Better than most games with modern graphics. The only thing that is always necessary for making a game - is coding it to work properly, balance, lack of bugs, compatibility and whatever it takes to be pleasant to experience. Everything else only needs to subjectively fit the style.

This thing. A game with primitive/retro style level of graphics is still part of the game making process, no mater how small it is. Modern or not, if it is not a text adventure, it needs to be a part of the procedure.

Ok. There are 2 groups. Group "A" has farms, grows weed and sells it to Group B. Group B distributes weed by selling to everyone. A's profit has correlation with B's profit. Why? The more B sells weed(big demand), the more they buy from A, so group A decides to grows more weed and this makes them both either rich... Or poor if nobody does drugs.

However, there is no correlation between A's "process of growing weed" and B's "process of selling it to you and your mom." Why? Because you buying it- isn't going to help A do a better job at growing weed. Growing weed correctly depends on A's botanist skills.
I don't remember what I was going for originally when you didn't read my old post but maybe this helps you understand, that context is important when determining correlation.

Yes, it is a part of it, but they are absolutely different things and don't rely on each other in any way, shape or form. You can make a game with great sound, writing and gameplay, but the graphics can still be the most ugly, outdated fiery dumpster of shit. Or vice versa a game can look amazing and realistic, but also boring, buggy and overall bad. There is no correlation between making games and being a good graphical artist.

This is why many people often say they don't care about graphics, as long as the gameplay is good. Graphics can be good, bad intentionally or not, and make no difference either way to the rest of the game making process, or the player playing it.

Okay, I see I see. The game making business is not really cut up in a way that they'd be separate entities. It would more closely resemble a cartoon TV show, people drawing (for the sake of it let's keep it 2D drawings) characters, backgrounds, foregrounds, those things. Then you do have another department that handles sound. Yes, those could be separate entities, the art and sound departments, much like group A producing stock, and group B selling. But they must work close together to work. It's hard to do one without the other. The Loony Toons are quite famous, being in the "golden age of cartoons," but if you look closely, the sound effects and music needed to work with the animations, and animations versa needed to work with the sound and music. The Bugs Bunny opera moments are a key aspect of this, art, music, sounds, it's all a part of the process to create a masterpiece.

Nooooo. No. That was never my sentiment. I think somewhere this got lost in translation. The main thing was graphics, sound, and coding all need to take place if your making a game. One needs to consider if a character is say...walking. The character needs to be programed to move a certain direction when pressing an arrow key. Then, an animation needs to be attached to this code. Sound must also be attached to this walking for the sake of ambience. It's all a part of the process to create a game.

Otherwise, I do agree with you about looks not mattering. Just that those looks which mattered not was prepared as a process of game creation. I think the base line is we misunderstood each other.
