They're not, though. The mind-control aspect is the primary draw here, and rushing it just to have erotic scenes sooner would defeat the point. There's already a myriad of games where the MC gets raped/drugged/enslaved, and the expectation that this would be another one of them initially kept me away from it. The only reason it got my attention at all is because the absence of a "completed" designation here implied it's not another poorly-translated shovelware Japanese title. And the reason I stuck with it was the mind-room stuff. I think this review says it best:

"So this is a Mind Control fetish game.

If the idea of a woman who fervently swore that the vacuous commercialism of a women's fashion magazines is nothing but a source of misery and despair for all woman kind, and fucking meant it, turning around and ravenously consuming said product, with genuine glee, because you flipped a switch in her head doesn't give you a raging erection, this game is not for specifically for you."

And while you could say "well focus on the mind-control stuff then, don't have a hardcore JRPG in between the corruption stuff", I honestly feel it works better this way because the gameplay is intertwined with the corruption. Lewd acts have material rewards but increase MC's Corruption, which has to be kept in check. Using the OP abilities also increases Corruption. It's more dynamic than simply flipping those switches one after another without limitations.

I disagree. I find it weird when porn games try so hard to be proper games they end up forgetting the porn.

It's possible to have both (Third Crisis from your sig is a good example actually) but if you can't do both, porn should have priority. There's a multi billion dollar industry for good SFW games, I don't need H-game devs to try and top that. They won't.

It's hardly an afterthought, the game just more niche in terms of kink than you are used to.

Most things tagged Mind Control, result in the one being mind controlled very quickly succumbing to the control and becoming a slut. This is a game that actually lets you play the long game mind control wise and actually change all the small little things that can lead into big shifts like that. While most people want their payoff and gratification much more quickly, others (like me) can get really into the long, slow, breakdown over time.

Right now we're just in the beginning stages of that long, slow breakdown, so there are only a few scenes, but the dev has explicitly stated they have plans for a lot more further down the line sex wise as she gets further corrupted. Because the game is meant to cater to those really into mind control though, and we're still in the early days of what the dev predicts to be a multi year project, there isn't very much yet for those looking for more instant gratification.

But the porn is definitely not an afterthought.

I will repeat. The whole game experience is - No doors, empty world, signs [NOT YET IMPLEMENTED], NO PORN CONTENT, only erotic picture is the same as in the thread opener. Game mostly based on fights that is already exist in rpg mv engine by default. In this state this 'game' shouldn't really be on f95zone.

Corruption is one of my favorite fetishes and I can enjoy the slow burn of games like this, but I think I'll set this aside for a while. Partly because [NOT YET IMPLEMENTED] and partly because the ungodly amount of fluff text needs SERIOUS trimming. I don't hate the amount of fluff text, I think it works to make the game feel more fleshed out. However, I do agree that at the moment, the game's content is sort of like smelling an amazing meal someone's cooking in the kitchen. You know it's going to be great, but it's not ready yet. I am very in for a slow burn mind control & corruption story but we're still just...so far away from any pay-off.

It's an alpha (or beta). 15 hours of playtime for a still young WIP - with weekly releases on top - is not something you'll see everywhere in the zone. Before this gets called out again, this isn't "the best game ever", but the developer did do a great job and there's a clear roadmap, not just empty promises. If you can't stand placeholders, do keep in mind a placeholder event and an empty, delusional sketch or an empty map are completely different things.

Not even into NTR or hetero sex/lewd dialogue. Came here for yuri and females only, saw nothing of the sort, and stayed for the female on female mind control dual-persona because why not (possibly some subconscious bias for "girls' love gone wrong" potential, I won't deny that). I'm not going to jump at aura-dev's throat if there are suddenly dicks everywhere (there's already phallic dialogue but honestly, if you can't take this, ouch) and not going to request anything either nor rig a poll to my preferences and ruin it for everyone else just because it's my own fetish.

Some alphas on here are several years in and don't even have half the depth with the developer making hundreds of thousands of US dollars from groupies. While aura-dev did jokingly mention "the power of money" (when asked about CG) this clearly shows passion and motivation will push a game much harder than lazy money being thrown around.

Now back to Star Knightess Aura if you don't mind. Since posts also need to be critical to not sound like praise showers, the flaws have been mentioned. Placeholders aren't flaws if they remain under control. The bugs that were reported earlier can be fixed pretty fast, and any of us can do it (JSON files) but that would be rude to the developer. This can also conflict with the developer's workflow (real developers have a workflow, they don't just "imagine a fantasy world" and fuel their fanbase with hype and "it's going to be awesome, just you wait" when nothing happens and people just keep paying - encouraging lazy development ethics).

The inn's name indeed isn't mentioned in an obvious way as far as I can tell, so when the quest tells the player to go to the Boar's Hut, you have to talk to NPCs and do some reading. This also applies to a few other quests.

For people wondering since you found it: go downstairs.

If that makes you feel better, spammed skills to death in the prologue and failed to notice there was a mana drain skill in time, so I was effectively fucked and got a game over even with massive stats (when the player can also skip the prologue). Missing the stairs to the cellar is far less stupid than this one.

I see what you're saying and you definitely have a valid point but for me if all I wanted was just the images id just go to other sites. there are some games on here for that but I do genuinely consider the premise to be of some importance. there are plenty of people satisfied with text based games and those don't have many images if any at all. You can see the example of that throughout this thread, yes there are people who aren't playing it yet because there are no cg's (even I am gonna wait for a good amount of cg's to be added) but there are also plenty of people playing the game and are even spending the time to do multiple runs with different endings, add the cg's in the game and its gonna cater to a whole lot more people.

That's just your opinion. Even H-game has own genres and specifics of storytelling.By that logic, maybe you should just enjoy some cg-set instead of h-games and play nukige instead any other eroge and et cetera. That why japan so far in porn content then westerns.That why this site full of milkers.

Forgot to report another minor bug: The player can learn Tenacity from Julian over and over again, so if they forgot they already have it, well, yeah. At least it's free, so it's just another way to kill time.
