I would very much be into this game, because I like tall; masculine and curvy women (doesn't matter if she has dick or not), but instead of getting penetrated I would be the one doing it. (Waiting for angry replies from femboys)
then this is not the game for you

1) I actually started developing Star Periphery on F95. I think it is pretty safe to say that without this forum, there would be no SP!
Speaking about the atmosphere, the game is mostly visually dark now because Part 1 is nearly entirely set on PS-10, which is admittedly a pretty cyberpunk-ish place. Part 2 and onwards will be very different since you will be traveling all around the galaxy. Here is a little teaser of one of the many places you'll visit:

I'm writing this just to make sure there were no misunderstandings in my previous entry. I really like the atmosphere at PS-10, it's really great. The dark atmosphere of such an unprincipled place has never bothered me, on the contrary (Night City was best at night), and let's be honest, everyone likes such places deep down because they are simply very interesting. The game's start screen itself caught my attention. And the graphics you shared look beautiful, I can't wait to visit this place and meet its characters.

Making so many varied, detailed locales sounds like a huge undertaking  Makes me wonder how huge this game is going to be.

I don't know a damn thing about game design but even something like changing the body fluids to be more realistic sounds super difficult.

Don't remember posting this here before, so here it goes the latest progress report (no Tessa's preview picture since Void already posted it here :p) .

Release 5 Progress Report #2
Hello friends!
The work on R5 continues as planned, so it is a good time for another number crunching, peppered with screenshots, as always! Let's dive right into it!

Tessa Day 3:
Writing: 50%
Renders: 30%

Lise Day 3:
Writing: 60%
Renders: 20%

Bar Side Jobs 2:
Writing: 20%
Renders: 10%

Reworks iteration 2:
Renders: 50%

Technical:
R4.5 fixes: 100%
R4.5 text corrections: 80%
Soundtrack & sounds: 20%

As you can see, the writing portion has gotten a massive boost since the last report. But since that is not particularly suitable for screenshots, let's look at something much spicier!
Now, many of you remember that little in-game preview of the latex-clad dominatrix Tessa. As it is a particularly ancient model, I had to rework it for Release 5. You guess right, if you have been a naughty boy, you will finally meet Ms. Bonnet, Tessa's dominatrix side

Naturally, compared to the old version, I have tried giving Tessa's mistress outfit a bit more character so that it is not as similar to Iris's style. And since Tessa likes to wear heels & specific hosiery (while Iris enjoys boots and full-latex stockings), I reflected that onto the rework.

That's it for today! The next progress update will be focused on a certain redhead engineer since I already have some renders to make!
And, as always, if you have any questions, suggestions, or ideas, please let me know!

I see the Snake Race  Is the already a Name for her species ?
I don't have too much of a lore yet for them, but there will be some spicy scenes with the snekladies!

Since v0.2 I always fantasized about the interaction with the neighbour, so it was a great suprise to see it being added now and after playing it I've not been disappointed. Hopefully I'll see the continuation of it soon. (Sadly not in the following update according to the notes).
The neighbor will get a full scene at some point, either R6 or R7!

I would like to be able to call SP a proper space opera after it is finished. It will be big!
Regarding the technical details (like the fluids), it is a learning process. I am trying to constantly improve the game, and since 3D is also my personal #1 hobby, it is pretty enjoyable for me. The bigger challenge than finding out how something works is then optimizing it enough so that it can be used without killing the development time!

Do you ever see yourself taking on more people in your team to help put the content out faster, or is it your baby you want to do everything on your own for the entirety of the game?

A bit of both! For example, I have already worked with another person regarding the code (more specifically, the Gallery, which was beyond my basic coding skills). I would like to work with him again when more coding challenges appear (like the UI rework/inventory system). That said, these are limited, one-time exceptions limited to programming. Otherwise, Star Periphery is my passion project, and I simply can't imagine someone else working on the content!

I'm good at coding.

Is it worth learning Ren'py so I can help people code their games for profit?
Almost like if I was to learn to make mods but instead I collab with the dev and make it part of their game?

Would that be a decent side gig?

No idea but im not too optimistic about it, because most games are not that popular. Sure the top 1% in popularity probably makes enough cash that even sharing it between a small team is meaningful, but, I think coding is the lesser hurdle. We are talking maybe even less than 100 porn games like that in existence. (edit: altough thining about it more, one off programming solutions could interest several times more small solo creators even with low income)
Coding can be sort of learned in a month to the degree some hobby project 2d game needs it. Art looks more valuable to me, if you get good in it over several years, it makes the game... as long as the things almost anyone can do arent screwed up too bad. If SP never had an inventory system it would still be a great game.

I'm afraid that I don't know enough about Ren'Py or coding in general (and thus, I don't know anything about their respective markets) to advise you on that. You probably know a lot more about the subject! Where you live is also a factor, I think, since earning $100 can mean very different things in different countries.

That said, I still think that passion is the most valuable deciding factor, no matter the subject. So, if you WANT to learn Ren'Py to make (smut) games/help others make (smut) games, go for it! After all, what's the worst thing that could happen?
