It seems to me that I could try to agree with Lucas George has always supported any fan projects. Not for adults, of course, but who knows. After all, fans like it, so why not?

But Disney ... Imho there is not even worth trying. Everything is sad there. They do not need the universe of SW. They only need money.

Nah cause he's getting money from it. His whole Patreon is literally dedicated to Star Wars, and Disney isn't a fan at all about Porn parodies that have all the Names, Species, and Themes of their License, especially Lucasfilm Star Wars.

You can obtain money from something and still have it qualify as a parody under free use:
'Weird Al' Yankovic has made a career off of it.

Technically, it doesn't even have to be a parody, just use of limited snippets for educational purposes or use in a manner where the IP/copyrighted work takes a backseat to some other content. Voiceover commentary a la MST3K, sufficient change in presentation can also qualify it.
Problems, generally, are with free use having a definition, but no clear lines in the sand for what is protected and what isn't, making going to court or otherwise ignoring C&D a very risky proposition.


The issue here is that this is wholesale use of IP for money, with very little protective argument that this is anything other than exploitation of a popular IP for money.
In particular, apparently some of the music is directly from the series, and logos as well, if other users here are to be believed.

What is different about making a Sex Game based on Star Wars with the music, names and title that is funded on Patreon than say a fan-film like the awesome one created by Star Wars Fan Theory? Not only did he get permission to do it, but it had to be from his own wallet, he couldn't crowd fund it and he couldn't monetize it, so he made a nothing from that fan-film specifically.

Whilst the developer of this game, as much as I want something like this to be a thing, hasn't got permission, is using actual themes made by John Williams, and is technically crowd funding and earning from it, which he isn't allowed to do.

Both Lucasfilm and Disney wouldn't ever agree to allow the developer to do this, not in a million years, not unless, he uses his own funds, has written permission and couldn't sell the product in question, that includes his patreon tiers, because they are directly linked with his project that counts as selling the Star Wars brand.

Iconic franchises make the best bait for patrons to milk, obviously. And sticking to one particular franchise means you can recycle art, models, resources & etc from your previous scams to trick new targets.

Hey Darth Smut, if you're going to create alts to promote your latest scam, please at least put some effort into it.

Edit, full disclosure:

• WhenTheShitHitsTheFan has been pushing Darth Smut's game since joining, shared fake/decoy builds of DS' game, the name is similar to a previous Darth Smut alt, and the account uses the same VPN as Darth Smut.
• WhenTheShitHitsTheFan originally posted the game, and despite using broken English on the public forum, used perfect English when pming multiple mods/staff asking for the thread to be moved to the games section.
• Within 10 minutes of WhenTheShitHitsTheFan posting the thread, before it was moved to the Games forum, the above 2 accounts Lady Pomegranate and Browberac posted the above comments.
• These 2 accounts have been inactive since their original registration date, both accounts are using TOR, and both just happened to login and promote the game within 5 mins of each other, having been inactive for 3 months.

From this, I feel it's relatively safe to draw the conclusion that the 3 accounts are all Darth Smut, however, I don't know if "Starlord Games" is actually Darth Smut, just that DS tried to promote the game here. You now know what we know, so draw your own conclusions.

I knew something was wrong with WhenTheShitHitsTheFan, but I didn't want to call him out without more proof of being a shill or Darth himself. Would also like to point out that all three of them private their profiles. I've looked at a lot of profiles, without ever running into someone with a private profile besides staff, to run into three in a row is suspicious.

Well but if you make something that while going off an existing IP, has all original assets (even if they depict stuff that exists in the IP), shouldn't it be okay? I thought that was the problem with all the "lawyered" projects.

Okay, without regard to the drama over potential past actions of the creator on this one (does sound like an ass tho):

As a star wars nerd, the line in the description 'jedi knight, Kara Silero, a master of reincarnation and a subtle connoisseur of temptation and sensual pleasures' immediately killed any interest I might have had. Even the most 'bad boys/girls' of the canon knights didn't slut around without being looked down on for it. Vos got reprimanded constantly for his 'looser' morals, and was only not expelled because he got results and was technically an undercover cop, so had greater leniences (a jedi shadow, more specifically, who are expected to be able to fit in with the darker elements).
This isn't even touching the 'master of reincarnation' buffoonery.

The real draw of a 'trainer' game, or corruption game, or even porn of star wars (or 'insert established propery here') in general, is seeing the characters fall to their lusts. To see them warp and pervert as a result of the events of the game. Completely subverting the canon to add a OC that basically has already been corrupted defeats the purpose.

Even having the 'so naive you can't comprehend their ability to breath' archetype makes for a better show, especially when you have those around them acknowledging it. Naive character completes a mission via 'aggressive negotiations', it cuts to Yoda and Mace looking at each other, with Yoda going 'wish to know, I do not. Ruin my faith in the force, it would' in response to the disheveled look and suspicious fluids. Hang a damn lampshade on it, don't ignore it in it's entirety. The draw of seeing familiar characters/concepts is in seeing them warped/perverted.

I want to give this a chance but I'm going to have to hold off on a final verdict until the next iteration is released. That being said I think it's best that this is approached with a certain amount of caution given the number of SW parody games that get promoted make a few patreon bucks and then are promptly abandoned. Or you have a creator completely lose their shit when people don't like what they've made.
