at least you didn't get a
Yeah...when you put it that way, I'll take the rat-dog.

Anyway, @ : While I'm no programmer, I've noticed a kind of pattern to the bugs and I've got a theory about a lot of them. I suspect the ultimate culprit is how its writing its save files. Lots of bugs show up when reloading save games, and the game constantly does autosaves as well. If its writing "floating" game data to the disk as well (as opposed to just holding everything in RAM all the time) and then accessing it later as needed (a sort of "real time" save file, if you will) then that same saving malfunction could be affecting the active game as well as it's being played.

Did that make any sense? I'm not sure if I'm describing it right. But I know in the past, before big RAM was a thing, almost all big games were constantly reading & writing their overflow to hard drives all the time. If this one does it too, and there's some kind of error in how it saves stuff, then those two things could be combining to cause corruption in games as it's being played.

So I'm hoping that when you get back to the old drawing board and manage to track down whatever is causing the save games to get bent out of shape that it may just clear up a lot of other, in-game bugs as well.

Now for more requests and suggestions:

  1. Option to choose fonts and font sizes.
  2. Some kind of indicators on the fur slider rather than making us guess what each pixel of distance does.
  3. Startopia had this thing that was called "fake actors" or something. Basically when you weren't zoomed in a NPC, or they weren't in direct view, it just sort of swapped them out with low-rez, low-CPU cardboard cutouts to save memory and cycles. You might want to try something like that but tie it into overall station population. It might help.
  4. Let us set prices for things, again like in Startopia. Lower prices would attract more tourists but higher prices could make more off each individual one.
  5. Have slave skills affect brothel prices. Basic sex for the basic room, but also throw in charisma and intelligence for the more expensive ones (as a courtesean is not the same thing as a hooker).
  6. In-game clock or calendar, to keep track of what day in the month it is.
  7. Time speed controls like in The Sims. Pause, normal, double, turbo (<- turbo would turn off all NPC avatars wandering around to maximize cycle efficiency)
  8. Option to adjust the graphic quality levels beyond Unity's boring three options. I swear the brightness is burning my eyeballs out in some places - the Dairy is the worst for that. I can't even see furniture plans against all the whiteness.
  9. Options to tweak the special effects animations as well. Those waves in the baby-accelerator look cool and all, but put ten of them on a station and framerates sink fast.
  10. Make the selection tabs on the planet and slave menus persistent. Meaning if we select "sort by age" then have it stay that way until we change it. Right now we've got to reset it every time we look at it.
  11. Let us rename planets that we own the same way we can rename slaves. "Ekko Breeding Colony #5" may not be very inspiring, but it's a lot easier to remember than "Algol 4b" - especially when you've got five other Algols in your planet list.
  12. Make planet expenses and rewards dynamic. Why should Hunting Licenses on a station with a population of 5,000 grant exactly the same income as it does on a planet of 5,000,000? Why are all these things flat rates that ignore population and tech level?
  13. Total overhaul is needed for planet tweaking. Borrow from Free Cities and add some player selectable "grants" to boost specific planet traits, with an input for how much your want to spend on that grant per month (like with FC Future Societies propaganda). So on one planet we could say "$1000 per month on Prosperity" instead of flat rate Business Grant. Another could be "$2000 per month on Happiness." And of course we'd finally have a way to actually change tech levels at last. The larger the population the less effect per dollar spent, so large planets would require more money to socially engineer.
  14. Adjust planet tribute to reflect this. Planet with population of 10,000 = $500 per month. Planet with population of 10,000,000 = $600 per month. Dafuq? Let's make big numbers give big rewards, then up their defenses to make it more of a challenge to keep it fair.
  15. Let us adjust planet tribute and just call it what it really is - taxes. Lower taxes boost economy, happiness and lower fear. Higher taxes raise it. Very simple!
  16. So you know how Windows itself has a thing on folders that let you switch between List, Description, Small/Medium/Large icons? Something like that for slave and planet menus would be awesome. Instead of icons it could be tiny snapshots of the planet or the slave's face, for those of us who are better with visual than name recognition.
  17. BUG - If you sell a pregnant slave you still get an option to keep or sell the baby once it's born.
  18. Let us save Rule Assistant rules like in FC to use in other games.
  19. Multiple save games. Meaning different profiles than we can choose from instead of just overriding the same one with each new game. Also, let us rename saved games so we can remember which is which.
  20. In surgery we have a "Add to All" button but not a "Remove from All" button, which is because the planet screen lets you do it.

Somebody Tell me, what is extreme content? I'm afraid of the title, but curiosity is stronger than my common sense.
It's rape. The file itself (as I found out earlier in this thread) can be anything, even an empty text file that has been renamed to "ExtremeContent.mod"
Apparently the game just checks to see if such a file exists, not what it contains. Put in the main directory where Stationmaster.exe is located.

I like your ideas!
Regarding the rules assistant.
Meanwhile you can "save" them by copying the lines in the save-file that starts with Rule|
At index 20 you have the rule name if you only want to "save" some of them.

There's no save streaming like you're describing. The problems with saves come from the ghetto serializer/deserializer I rolled as a "temporary hack" back in 0.1, and are mostly unrelated to the other bugs.

Lots of great ideas since the last time I was here, and the list of community improvements just got longer. I hate you all :)

Dear dev, you've manages to create an unique strategy managements/4x game combined with ADULT elements. Just looked at the watch and suddenly realised that it was already dark outside and 5 hours have passed without me noticing, and when that happens you know you you're playing a damn good, hell I've spent less time on regular games in those genres before uninstalling it.

When a strategy game makes you loose time without you noticing due to how addicting it is (just one more turn, gotta build that, conquer that planet etc, the creators have done things right! It's a damned addictive game, especially since it's porn.

Not that it's perfect, it's still very buggy, the game slows down to a crawl even on my top en gaming rigg and there really should be a button to speed up the game to make the waiting time less tedious, especially at the start of the game. Also, the sex animations could really use an upgrade, something that should have been done before you added all those wierd (ugly imo) new aliens.

But still, it's a great game, keep up the good work and please focus on ironing out the bugs in the future before adding new stuff. :)

Started trying the new 0.2b build yesterday, so far very fun. Haven't accumulated enough money for the space part, looking forward to try it again, last few builds i always had annoying errors stopping me there.

The new slave clothes and visuals are a nice improvement :).

Small suggestion: Can you add some kind of time showing, e.g. in game days or hours, this way we players can easily find out how hard the game lags, making fine tuning settings for maximum number of tourists/citizens or spotting potential memory leak issues easier :)

After playing about a week, there are some stable animation bugs (version 0.20):
1. Drink Dispenser. Wrong customers' orientation. Substituting buttocks to a dispenser... it's just weird.
2. Anti-gravity Dance Platform. Just no animatioon.
3. Sex-doll Harness. Customers attaches to the furniture with an offset. As well, as a slave under the master's desk.
4. Racetrack. Racers' routes don't match with a track. First racer finishes on a second trail, second racer finishes on the wall.
5. Audience Fighting Pit. No animation for one of fighters, the another fighter's animation is fragmented and weird.
6. Despite the patchnotes, clothes in the station screen don't match character screen. Most clothes in a character screen has clipping issues with some body morphs.
7. Slave's hair, wings and other features are not visible in the fighting pits and racetrack.

The aliens and furries were due to his patreon hitting a stretch goal and was voted upon by his donors. When you and i start paying, we can choose the schedule ;)

I think it has more to do with them being more willing to blow money on that than we are of anything not furry than being less likely to date. I couldn't even tell you what a date is, I haven't dated in so long. I don't know, people are people, so who knows? Some are weird and the rest are even weirder.

As for sensitivity, I was under the impression sexual acts and sex training did that, but I might be wrong.

I don't quite understand it, but furries are much more willing to pay for porn than the general population.
We make good money. You know how it is... you start off with a secret club, soon you're a secret society and before you know you're a shadowy cabal controlling entire national economies.

Cuz they don't have to spend cash on dates with real people.
We've been around a lot longer than you think. And as for getting the poon...

... you'd be surprised, actually. Chicks dig freaky shit, yo - and the freakier the better.

No offense, but none of those are examples of furry. Fake animal tail butt plugs and headbands with cat ears attached aren't quite the same thing, braw.

I know lots of people try to pretend it isn't because they're afraid of getting the label, but that's just denial.

Bunny ears, puppy-play and tail-plugs are absolutely furry stuff. It's all just a question of degrees. You know, like that slider we have in the game? Even if you never take it past those "innocent" little cat ears, it's still called the furry slider for a reason.

You've already taken the first step, young apprentice. For once you start down the fur path, forever will it dominate your destiny. A "harmless"10% today, maybe a little more 20% tomorrow, and before know it you will be one of us, too - because you already are and just don't know it yet. Bwa ha ha ha haaaaa!

I still don't see why people get such a complex about it. We went mainstream over a decade ago, didn't ya know?

Anyway, @StationmasterDev, I noticed there's a file in the game folder called "Settings.txt" and went to see what the options are, but it doesn't really say what any of these numbers and booleans do. What does this mean?

1

True
True

More importantly, what can I change without blowing up the whole game?

The numbers seem to affect the sliders and the true/false flags seem to refer to the checkmark toggles. They appear to be ordered as they appear in the options screen from top-left to bottom-left then top-right to bottom-right.

1 - Master Volume
1 - Voice Volume
True - Allow Alien Content
True - Allow Pregnancy
1 - Music Volume
1 - UI Volume
False - Allow Slave Aging
True - Notify when Virginity Taken
True - Notify When Slave Born
True - Show Helper Notifications
False - Show Economy Reports
True - Enable Head Look
True - Drag Scrolling
True - Edge Scrolling
Work - Unknown, nothing I do seems to change this so could be anything
