is the scene's with the dean, avoidable, I know corruption and blackmail are in the tags, but it would still be nice to have the option

Thanks for letting me know
Keep in mind that Dean is part of the main plot.

I have a save where I didn't give in to his blackmail and blocked him and now that save have only 1/5 of the whole update to play - especially the smaller updates feel like 1 scene and done if they have him in that update and you block his path.

Just giving people heads up that in this game some things as much as you don't like them shouldn't be blocked - rather just press skip button and pass them fast without playing or giving attention to them.

Nope, he's an asshole and I want nothing to do with him. I get plenty of scenes with each update to play without him.
"Actions and consequences"

Dean is one of the main characters in the game just like Mike - hope you guys who dislike those don't complain that the game got nothing in future when the main story starts to wrap up and all characters start getting linked or entangled with each other due to their involvement with Riley :KEK:

Anyway - was just trying to help so good luck and hope your saves don't get botched in future.

Yeah, the Dean may be one of the main characters, but if someone just doesn't like him, it's best to drop him. Because IMO playing a path in a forced way does more harm than good to the player's experience. The option is there for a reason.

Besides, Riley has other people she can find "entertainment" in. :BootyTime:
Nice logo! Where you get it?

If I avoid Dean's route will I miss any scenes with other characters, e.g. professor?

Developer Notes aka what's next and when

Hi!

I’m a bit late with this post—I planned to write it yesterday, exactly a week before the early release of the 4.0 episode. But with so many work and personal responsibilities, I got overwhelmed, so here it is today. We’re now 6 days away from the early release of update 4.0 for Devoted+ tiers and 9 days away from the official release for Inquisitive+ tiers and Steam/Itch (6 and 9, hehe).

Update 4.0 is one of the biggest and definitely the broadest update so far. It will define certain paths, give players more choices, and, most importantly, be the conclusion of your previous decisions. The full changelog, a summary of new scenes, and details about the work we’ve put into it will be shared in the next post at the beginning of next week.

To sum it up, I’m really proud of the massive effort we’ve put into this update. In just under three months, we’ve managed to fix all previous bugs, add tons of new renders and high-quality animations, and introduce many other improvements. On top of that, we’ve translated the entire game into another language—this time, you’ll be able to play Steps of Debauchery in Polish.

Now, a few words about our next steps. After this update, the entire team will take a 2–3 week holiday break. For over two years (even before the game’s release), we’ve been working full steam ahead to deliver the best project we can. It’s time to take a breather and recharge for the second half of the game!

As some of you already know, and others will now learn, I work as a firefighter. For the past five months, I’ve been on unpaid leave, which allowed me to fully focus on Steps of Debauchery and set aside my usual work responsibilities. Starting in January, I’ll return to my unit. This means I’ll have less time for the game, but I’ll still aim to release updates every three months or so. They probably won’t be as “big” as they have been, but SoD is my passion project, and I’ll dedicate as much time to it as possible.

Thank you for all your support so far and in the future. It’s thanks to you that I was able to take these five months off without worrying about finances or supporting my family.

That’s all for now. As I mentioned, the changelog will be out this week, followed by more details about the update. Talk to you soon!

Ps. If you want to help further, please , it takes few seconds and helps a ton!
